  4. Thanks and I know they do this an all-around guide and it's not created for the knowledge of the abbreviations but whether or not they are beneficial in professional agreements/arguments.
  5. Great Guide but I've got a suggestion. You could include a Kingdom of Misc guide link and/or a link to a merchanting guide.
  6. This question cannot be anwsered without being biased. People from f2p believe they deserve while p2pers believe that's what they've paid for and you don't deserve to be equal to them within the mind of Jagex. As for myself, I believe f2p doesn't deserve nor have the right to order that they get these things.
  7. If I still played Runescape I'd use this. Nice
  8. "Master_Smither", there are many more and I need people to leave them as I said, if you remember any PLEASE PM, thanks.
  9. Guide to correct internet manners, grammar, and conduct. Table of contents. 1 - Self Introduction 2 - Guide introduction 3 - Abbreviation elaberation 4 - Internet conduct 5 - Common grammatical mistakes 6 - Thanks, closing and posting information. 1. Self Introduction Hello, my name is Dustin and I've written this guide to contribute to the betterment of the internet community and I'm also sick of mannerless, illiterate MMORPGers. 2. Guide Introduction This guide will lay out what I believe to be proper internet conduct as well as common grammatical mistakes that I find annoying and I'm sure many others do as well. It will also show many abbreviations that are used commonly that I believe are acceptable and understandable as well as the ones that I believe should not be used. By "acceptable I mean politically correct. PS. I am not telling you what to do, I am telling you what I believe will help you in the future with agreements within the internet and eventually help you in the long run. 3. Abbreviations I'd like to elaborate on common abbreviations and whether or not I believe they are acceptable or frowned upon in the internet community. I will now list them, what they mean, and whether or not they are considered offensive. (sometimes this may depend on how you are using this language; games, auction sites, etc.) PS. All vulgar abbreviations are listed but censored for all our children's sake. - Jk = Just kidding - Acceptable and used often. - Jj = Just joking - Not acceptable - The repeating of letters within an abbreviation looks slobby and overall unprofessional. - Lmao = Laughing my *** off - Not acceptable unless you are with appropriate company, also other abbreviations will suffice without being vulgar. (eg. Lol, etc.) - Lmfao = Laughing my (fat - ****ing) *** off - NOT acceptable - Extremely vulgar, completely UNACCEPTABLE, There is absolutely no reason to be that vulgar within a comment of that sort. - Lol = Laughing out loud - Acceptable - Commonly used and for a good reason, it contains no profanity and gets the point across, that simple. - Lawl = Lol = Laughing out loud - Acceptable but rarely used and unprofessional. - MMORPG = Massively multiplayer online roleplaying game = Acceptable - To the point and commonly used. (Personal favorite) - Pfft - Onomatopoeia = A word used to imitate a sound such as cuckoo, boom, etc. - Acceptable. - Grats, Gratz = Congratulations - Acceptable and nifty. - Lvl = Level - Acceptable. - Idc = I don't care - Unacceptable - Usually used in rude instances and annoying to be honest. - Idk = I don't know - Acceptable. - P2p = Pay to play - Acceptable and widely used for trial games. - F2p = Free to play - Acceptable - See P2p - Wtf = What the **** - Unacceptable - Vulgar and used in rude instances. - Wth = What the Hell - A sin but I' mreligous so I must say unacceptable beliefs may vary, I understand that but that is what I believe. - Rofl = Rolling on the floor laughing - Acceptable. - Omg = Oh my God - Acceptable but would be better used as "Oh my Gosh" to avoid religous differences. - Omfg = Oh my ****ing God - Unacceptable - Uses vulgar language for absolutely no reason. - Brb = Be right back - Acceptable and nifty. - Bbs = Be back soon - Acceptable. - Bbl = Be back later - Acceptable. - Cya = See you (around) - Acceptable but not visually pleasing. - Brt = Be right there - Acceptable. - Atm = Auto-teller machine, At the moment - Not acceptable not well known and alreaady is used in real life situations. - Irl = In real life - Acceptable. - Ftw = For the win - Acceptable. - Afk = Away from keyboard - Acceptable. - NPC = Non-playable character - Acceptable. - S> = Selling - Acceptable but not commonly used. - B> = Buying - Acceptable but not commonly used. - T> = Trading - Acceptable but not commonly used. - R> = Recruiting - Acceptable but not commonly used. - L> = Looking - Acceptable but not commonly used. - J> = Joining - Acceptable but not commonly used. - Wb = Welcome Back - Acceptable and nifty. - KS = Kill Steal(er) - Acceptable. That's all I can remember off the top of my head, if you think I'm missing any that fit the description please, please, please post them. I did not include words that were shortened by noticeable means such as "text" and "txt" and are easy to guess and know whether or not they're vulgar or not. 4. Internet conduct Conduct on the internet shows the real colors of a person, they say wat they want when they want to say it because there are no consequences. There are some conducts and manners that apply to the internet though. You should be smart in what you say and how you say it!! You should not order someone around which is a rule that applies to life as well. You should never follow or annoy someone you do not know you should make freinds and stick around with them and not hope for help from other people because it is probably not going to happen. Never attack someone's character. That's all I've got to say most of it is common sense. 5. Common grammatical Mistakes There are many mistakes made within typing that aren't just typos, for instance if you don't know how to spell a word DON'T use it you could just as easily think of a word that has the same meaning and it makes you seem more professional. Other common grammatical mistakes are: Ex: Wht looks like Wth which usually represents the same thing but seems rude. AVOID these kind of mistakes. Ex: Run-ons are confusing and happen often. It is okay to forget the period at the end of the sentence if you pause between your typing but never do this, You're talking to two peple and try to anwser them in the same sentence, "Hey what's your name forget it", that's random but still makes absolutely no sense which is what you're avoiding. There are many others that happen but are just because of the lack of english skills by the author. 6. Closing I'd like to thank all of my freinds I've met throughout my internet career and have taught me many things about internet "lingo" and conduct. Please, contact me if you'd like me to add anything to it because I know it's far from finished and I'll need your help to keep it up-to-date. In conclusion, keep your wits about you, be polite, and never beg or ask for advice from strangers.
