  1. What country isnt taken  There's a map on page 41. Venezuela has successfully completed its hydropower project. Water now provides about 70% of our eneregy. Schematics are available. We are donating a strain of Verde Soylante adapted to use minimal water to Norway for use in the space program.
  2. @run4runes: Yeah, that'll be pretty easy. Maybe nine months. @grimdeath283: I think it was.
  3. Venezuela can also supply Verde Soylante. We also have scientists working on variations for different climates and purposes if you need a specialized strain.
  4. Killed slowly and publicly I hope. Even a failed sabotage attempt sets a dangerous precedent.
  5. But this is a GIANT railgun. Not designed for warfare, but designed specifically for space travel. It is around 35 metres diametre, and about a mile long. Like a mass driver? Also see The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, by Robert Heinlein. Yeah, essentially a mass driver. It has its own nuclear reactor powering it, so that isn't an issue. Ross, PM's man! Hey, if he wants to freely advertise the locations of highly valuable technologies like that, that's his business. I'm sure that installation is very heavily guarded.

  7. That's rather ambitious. Here's to no nuclear weapons!
  8. Or use diamond. (See 3001: The Final Odyssey.) This isn't real life. Just set some resources aside to research it, wait a day or two, and hey presto! Stronger nanotubes. EDIT: Dugeonal, 1 billion US is 1 000 000 000 and 1 trillion is 1 000 000 000 000
  9. Construction of this happens in space right? That's the only practical way to put something that big in the sky. Depending on the size of a module and your shuttle, you can put to module together on the ground, but hooking them up happens in space. Also, after it's up and running, it should become the base for all intra- and inter-stellar launches. Save a lot of fuel by not having to get out of Earth's gravity well for each and every launch. Actually, something like this would be pretty ideal if you're getting serious about space.
  10. I don't think very many countries have the facilities need for production of those isotopes, especially at the scale required if you're seriously using that to fuel space exploration. Your best bet would be to try to get in on Iran's Faroe Island project.
  11. Accident involving illegal nuclear arsenal?
  12. Venezuela is interested in possibly becoming a junior partner in the Brazil-Norway space project. We recently significantly increased our manufacturing capacity if you would like to subcontract out parts and focus on R&D.

  14. Due to the people's heavy interest in hydropower, the first station was constructed ahead of schedule and is fully online. More are starting immediately, to be completed in a year and a half. Iran, Venezuela would like permission to use you Faroe base to further improve our strain of Verde Soylante. We will of course share any improved variations.
  15. Venezuela continues to invest in hydropower. The first new generator is being built. If all goes well, more will follow. Verde soylante is a big success as a crop. We now have enough to export.
  16. VERDE SOYLANTE!!!! Fortunately, Venezuela recieved a shipment shortly before this catastrophe. We don't have much, and don't have the genetech to make more, and understandably want most of it for ourselves. However, we may be able to sell a limited quantity.
  17. Actually, this was his idea and so far, he seems pretty benevolent. If you start a council with control of a DeathRay you get people voting as a bloc coordinating through PM to pick off people they don't like or are in the way of expansion.
  18. Venezuela is still researching really efficient hydropower, but once we have something, we would be willing to share with deserving nations. We do not feel comfortable with the idea of aiding greedy megalomaniacs in their quest for world domination.
  19. @Adrenal: I don't really have a problem with it, but I think religious leaders might. You could be looking at a combined Jihad/Crusade :ohnoes: .
  20. Venezuela would be willing to disband our military under the protection of the DeathRay satellites. We have already scaled back to focus on infrastructure. This offer would allow us to write the military off the budget completely, which we favor, at least until we can improve internal affairs more.
  21. You are indeed most generous. Those seeds will come in handy for our own rooftop garden projects. Urban pollution mitigation is basically a self-sustaining cycle now and we are focusing our efforts on massive hydropower projects.
