Scientest discover richest planetery system outside of our own.
And yet if we ever get into space travel without FTL, it may be the only way. Might end up with entire nomadic spacefaring communities though... Which might be an interesting concept for a Sci-Fi story. Actually, that's not an uncommon theme in sci-fi. This story in particular deals with it very well, I think.

British gov't releases files of secret UFO study.
It'd probably be easier just to lasso a couple asteroids than tear the crust off a planet. Also, they'd be less likely to die of chicken pox.

Swimming
Had the first meet of the season yesterday. Two weeks of practice was not nearly enough. Got about a 7:38 in the 500, but got second in both relays, so I guess it's okay.

The worst thing you've ever tasted?
That's what she said. OT: Rotten coconut milk. Weird thing is it smelled like a pile of dead puppies, but I didn't notice while I was drinking it. I think it was a few years old, easy. You know how a pile of dead puppies smell? Obviously it smells like rotten coconut milk.

Swimming
This is my third year of swimming. Just started last Monday, so still working on getting into shape. Had dry land practice today. I hate running. I swim the 500 usually, maybe the 200 and couple of relays for good measure. I was down to about a 6:20 for the 500 at the end of last season from starting at like 7:10, so I'm aiming for under six minutes this year.

[Spoilers] Stargate Universe
No, it dropped out because they were draining the power by firing the weapons... no wait. They fired the weapons after they dropped out. Unless they were somehow firing while in FTL. idk. Rush is officially a slick bastard in my opinion now.

The entire world has approximately six billion people in it at the moment.

[Spoilers] Stargate Universe
I don't think it's actually a hyperdrive. It looks more like some sort of warp drive, like it's bending space around the ship, not shunting it to an alternate dimension.

Very old Ancient ship, isn't it though? Maybe they improved their tech since then.

I think, Hex, that if you will be in the game, there will be warfare.

I thought that we'd given up on ftl. I think Doom and Ross figured out a way to make it work, it just needs excessive amounts of power.

School
Ha, you should see my schedule. We have seven periods, numbered 1-7. These correspond to specific classes. The day is cut up into six blocks, lettered A-F. These correspond to specific time slots. But wait, you say, why are there seven periods but only six blocks? Well, the answer is that there is a career education facility attached to the school, and the kids who go there have to go out into the community to do projects. Every day, one period is left out and the periods are all mixed so that those kids can go out for half days, but not miss too much class. There's a seven day rotation, and the period left out is the one with the same number as the day. Thank heaven for small favors. This schedule would be impossible otherwise. Also, lunch comes in waves during D block, so not everyone eats at the same time. It gets worse, though, because there are four different periods that rotate through D block. This means that during the course of a week, you might eat lunch at up to four different times, from as early as 10:30 to (still early, imo) 11:36.

Dammit, I always get those two mixed up. Anyway, Venezuela's colony ship has reached Mars and has established a base there. Here's the new map with our territory on it. I also removed Findenland.

That's his proprietary military specialization. I believe you'll find that clause in article V, section 5B, paragraph F, sub 32A.

Guess who doesn't understand how a radio works. I get how it works. Hopefully the Germanian people like me for stopping them listen to the propaganda and come to my side! Given how long Dusty's had to play with their collective psyche, I'd say it's more likely they're pissed at you for interrupting the "Praise Glorious Leader Hour."
