  1. As a reply to the two above master smith.. Strategy? Not even close. How come random newb getting your flag and getting 1hit outside should cause the game to pretty much end for the other team? How do they have any control over the action of that one new player? They don't! the point is the reckless actions of one fool who doesn't know any better SHOULD NOT ruin the game of the average 20 so people on his team. After 5 minutes the flag should go back to its stand.
  2. Runescape is not all that bad. I'll agree there are the large number of immature people, but for most of them they'll be nice to you if you're nice to them (honey = better than vinegar, except in salads). Of course there will always be the stubborn "bratty" people that, as it seems, will be jerks no matter what course of action you take, but by judging the whole community on their actions would probably, in the end, make you one of them.
  3. Flag holding should be allowed, BUT TO A POINT. After 5 minutes of flagholding the flag should return to the base, because i'm sure we can all agree that the enemy playing catch with the flag (giving it back and forth so they can get aids) while guarded by godknows how many ancienters and maniacs with whips (or anchors[squishinator5000 as i call it] like me) and holding it for the duration of the game is simply AGGRAVATING. Many on the first page argued that getting the flag is a reward for having killed the flagger. Well tell me, why should the entire team suffer because of some random noob (we've all seen the lvl 23s going for the flag and getting 1 hit by barragers) who decided he thought he was cool enough to take the flag? No other capture the flag i have ever heard of has flagholding, and i agree it adds a unique and fun aspect to castle wars (instead of the constant back and forth with flaggers), but TO A POINT.
  4. Ack! walmart, i was gonna say that :P True. Jagex has NOTHING to gain from not banning bots, contrary to popular belief, as they make more money if they ban them because they have to make a new membership after that. EG: situation one: we have a bot, jagex does not ban the bot. Jagex gets 5$ for every month that it stays in the game Situation two: We have a bot, Jagex bans the bot. bot pays 5$. Jagex bans the bot again. Bot gets membership again, and pays 5$. I think it takes about 1 or 2 days for a reported bot to get banned (from personal experiences), so in theory, jagex could make about 50$ a month on bots by banning just one (by one i mean that came from a specific person) over and over.
  5. I don't think moving it from a sub forum to a normal forum will affect it too much, i doubt moving it will even affect it at all. I think what should happen is to change it to a regular forum for about a month to see what differences occur. If the results are negative, such as the debate forum being swarmed with rule breakers and rude people ( i currently like the respectful arguments found here, completely unlike the runescape rant forums where if you're right or wrong you get called a noob or idiot by the opposing people), the debate forum should be remade a sub forum. However, if the results are positive in the forum's favor, such as attracting more people with respect for debating, then it should stay as a regular forum.
  6. I find that edge wild is infested with pures, and that people who come out with a fighter torso, a defender and other such things that are easily re-obtainable by themselves simply do this to waste a pure's time and food, or get revenge on a rc pker. I personaly think that this is only tough on pures and other people who pk near edgeville, and that the rest of the wild is probably not affected. Also, my theory is that jagex did want to lighten the load of cries and whines of people who got pked with their precious armour, so that customer support could focus on subjects with a bit more priority. Anyways, to top it off i feel a bit of sympathy for the pkers who pk near edge, as i myself would be ticked off at wasting 30k worth of sharks and pots only to see the person you just killed waltzing up to his corpse and picking up his armour.
  7. I agree with the first few posters, as long as the items are untradeable i find it would be a win win situation where jagex would make more money and the general prices and attitudes of players would stay the same.
