Out of curiosity are you not getting defense because you are a pure? Unless you are avoiding cb levels there is absolutely NO REASON to avoid free exp in a combat skill. I wouldn't say pure. But once(if) I reach my goals I plan to start pking. I'm 40 defence atm but I'm going to max it at 45. and my combat lvl will be roughly 98 to 100.

I'm looking to finish the quest without getting defence experience. When you talk to Daero do you Ask for one set(Attack and Defence) then the other (str and hp) or does it give it all at once? Also can you complete the quest and just not talk to Daero and not get any exp?

You're not being mean at all. In fact I totally agree. I hate the New wildy. There is no skill required anymore. I'm not complaining because I lost a few items I could care less about that. I'm saying that jagex has done so many crappy updates to the wild to make it safer and then they go and pull this. They make luring a bannable offense and reintroduce it themselves.

I guess I should have been more specific. I was already in the wilderness... Pking... First off I know It's my fault for not thinking it out.(And forgetting where the damn multi areas are) I only lost what I was willing to lose anyway. But still I would have expected jagex to catch this. I was minding my own buisness around lvl 5-6 edgeville. When I see this funny looking arrow in my mini map. I figure Oo That must be my bounty. So I go chasing after him. He happens to be up on top the the hill w/ graves on it. I can't see him or anything. So I run a bit closer and then bam 10 or so people surround and kill me.. Meh. Not the best way to end the night.

They have reintroduced luring to the wildy. They even provide a nifty arrow to point ya right to the lure. Way to go jagex! :thumbup:

RSC was great.. The people that never played or only played for a short time will never understand what made it so great. The community was so much different back then. :( The reference to RSC would be great. It wouldn't be of any use to me as I can't use my RSC account anymore. It would be cool to see it though. Bring's back some memories ;)

Wrong and wrong. No prayer and no defence. Just keep going with range, mage, and strength. If you are planning on pking in p2p 60 attack is definatley worth it. There is nothing special about 10 def and 25 prayer is for people that shouldnt be pking. The only time prayer is worthwhile is after 70 strength. Just read that you are doing desert treasure.. You will have 13 or 11 prayer due to quests before that but that is fine ancients more than makes up for the prayer levels..

80 magic is pretty nice. a few more levels and you have the most usefull (IMO) tool for pking. If you have done mage arena you can use the godspells which are pretty handy with a team or solo if you have the skills.

your main is nothing special. You may be able to pk with it but anyone with a decently built pker will tear through you. I dont understand the concept of defence pures. I dont see how you could have many kills at all with that account assuming you use melee.. And they are not DM's. Best bet for that account would be to raise your mage or range to 70+ and become a range or mage tank.

Well yea that's fine then. just your average pure just keep no prayer and you should max your range and hitpoints.

The only thing I can think of it doing is wasting food.. In other words no this would not work. The point of a pker is to cause as much damage as possible in as short an amount of time as possible. This would be a start for a staker but from what I hear staking is dead. And since this is going to be a f2p pure you can't stake anyway.

I was an RSC pker but I never liked prayer. Without prayer you could have around 70 str and 55 or so hp at 49 combat. Its much better than having a +15% str bonus at 61 str. I'm not saying you should start over but you should probably max your range at ~67 and hp. And use a range/2h combo. And remember pking is more talent than stats. So if you know what you are doing (rs2 might take a little getting used to) You will do fine.

"Real" mages do not use obstacles "Real" mages do not use Ice spells while staking "Real" mages do not use armour. Training with fire bolt is rediculous alching would be way cheaper. Spend some time watching "Real" mage staking you will see what goes down And how rediculous you sound. I never said I knew everything And I certainly never said anyone else was inferior. I hate to say it but you are an [wagon]. You know nothing at all of staking you ask for help here and you completly ignore anyone with actual good advice mage staking is hard alright? chances are you wont make it. You certainly wont make "$$$" maybe enough to get by staking some unsuspecting normal players for 50k here and there. But you will not be living the high life anyone with half a clue will not stake more than 50k against you and if they do...they know what you are up to and can beat you... But w/e go suck up to your "buddy" and maybe he'll tell you the same

I thought i had good luck at barrows when i first started after 2 runs first item g spear @ 6.3m 3 runs later g pl8 @ 2.3m(ish) another 3 runs and v flail @1.1m(ish) 20 runs later v skirt @ 400k...ugh 90 runs later nothing and about 500k gp in bank i was getting 6kc and using ancients so i didnt make much without the items
