  1. Only get a ss if you plan to train strength... Otherwise a whip with a dfs or a defender is much better.
  2. SS is not faster by 50%... gs hits 2 hits for every 3 hits from a whip... Thats 33% faster. And a godswords prayer bonus will make you last much much longet then you think. Also... if your using a sgs that makes you last even longer as you will be regaining health and prayer every special... I haven't tried killing waterfiends since i got my sgs but even when i did it with my bgs i found it to be better imo....
  3. Considering he talks about the market size and compares it to pc/internet bubble of 2001 I'm fairly sure that he means that the market is saturated in that it is no longer growing as a whole and as far as I know that is not the case at all. You got me there, but i think hes referring more to a player saturation then a game saturation now that i look at it. I do get your point on the number of games, there tons. Overall though the player base may be coming from people switching MMOs. Like i said about whoever can grab the players attention first. I may still be missing something, but i think it was more of a spurt of the moment thing then a well researched statistic.
  4. I think what he means by saturated is that theres tons of different MMOs out there now, Its really impossible for a player to be devoted to more then one or two at a time so it comes down to whoever gets a players attention first and sadly the bigger name MMOs have the edge. I know runescapes popular, but games you can buy in a store tend to be more advertised. I still would say that runescapes best way of getting new members is good old word of mouth.
  5. Hi, kinda just joined, but this article was one of the main reasons. I think the editor hit it about spot on. In the last 3 years or so it seems that runescape has changed more from a bit more serious, mature MMO to a game more geared at a younger audience. Personally i don't mind, as long as the main skills don't change much. I haven't really cared for any skill released past slayer and doubt i will train them for more then levels. Anyways, the main problem i see happening is that they take it too far in any direction. If they push for more of a younger audience then they will lose a lot of the old members and more mature audience that are going to be consistent members, but if they try for a more serious type of game and focus on the older players they will lose there new player base. They only thing i disagree with on the editor is that new players in the 12-14 age range will move on. While this is true for a good amount of younger players, i know a lot of people like that in my age range (17-18) that quit or just play free now, and honestly i know that the game has gotten labeled as more of a kids game or childish because of the new bright graphics and the less serious quests. Its really up to Jagex where the game heads from here, but they are in danger of upsetting a very fine balance that keeps new players joining and old players staying.
  6. Hello, after being a lurker on the forums for a few years i finally decided to give in a join up. While i may be new to the forums im not new to runescape. I started playing four years ago in 9th grade and have been playing off and on since then. I am a member, been for awhile. Dont care much for quests, just more of a general skiller and play the game more for wasting time than anything. I have low skills to high skills with my highest being woodcutting at 90. Outside runescape in real life, im 17 and in 12th grade. I live in Pennsylvanian and also go to Vo-Tech for networking. Im taking a ccna right now and will finish it this year around the same time as high school. Also, i have bad grammar and spelling and i dont really take my time while typing on the internet so i apologize for any speeing mistakes and stuff. Hope to say, thanks for all the great guides on the site! :D
