  1. both yomom and lionheart have good points
  2. lol that is a good example
  3. btw everyone doesn't really like him and think he's self-obsessed and stuck in the past at his old teaching job. He's always talking about his old job and how much better it was.
  4. would you vote then super knowing that kids usually vote like their parents?
  5. Today during computer class our 8th grade class' comp/art teacher asked our class if we would vote today for president of the united states if we were old enough. He was angry almost to the point of shouting when only a few people raised their hands. He kept saying that if only a few people voted then our country would become a dictatorship against the people who didn't vote. He also said we should care about our future. I did not raise my hand and one of my friends who didn't raise his hand either tried to explain to the teacher why he didn't raise his hand. He explained that since we're only 13 and we're not old enough to vote, we don't keep track of which candidates believe what and who we think is the best presidential candidate. Unless we had time to research the candidates we might be voting for someone who wouldn't make a good president in our view. That is the reason I didn't raise my hand either. Would you raise your hand if you were in our situation? why or why not? people who would raise their hand:4 people who wouldn't:8
  6. Templar, what's your opinion on the matter?
  7. if the president bribes military personnel to back him and says he is the new king of america then yes Basically only in extreme situations.
  8. sorry about the oxymoron thing, just had to say it
  9. If it's becoming a dictatorship then yes, the states should revolt.
  10. oxymoron? National guard answers to state legislative
  11. (Not sure if I'm talking about the same thing as Templar)When segregation was nationally banned the governor of (forgot which state) refused to un segregate. In (forgot which state) they had to send the national guards with african-american children to get them into the school safely. Musta been a terrible experience for the african-american kids.
  12. I already know that states have power but I don't agree with the idea of them having the power to nullify federal laws.
  13. Isn't our government a mix of the two?
  14. The judicial branch can decide if laws are "constitutional" or not. If a case arrives to them that shows the law is unconstitutional.
  15. No need to bash intelligence of other people. Plus 8th grade history classes barely scratch the surface of the constitution and all things related
  16. Oh, and would the constitution be considered a federal law?
  17. But the states would have the power to nullify that. :? So they could, have an army. Not saying that they would. Just saying they could.
  18. If your gonna say no say why. If you say yes explain that too.
  19. More centralization and unity. If every state had it's own laws they might even have their own military. what's better 50 small armies or one big one?
  20. No! Then all the states would become more like miniature countries. Each would be completely different. Some would become allies and some enemies. We might even have another civil war. :ohnoes: Not a pleasant thought. Good discussion topic anyway
  21. English, Italian, and I can understand Spanish so that would be 5 points right?
  22. Gl in getting 99 woddcutting! Wanna have a race to 99 I have 78 wcing now.
