  1. I would love to have any 99, but I would never want my first 99 to be a "buyable." It just gets ripped on because people don't think it's an accomplisment to buy something. They think buying a cape is bad, but buying a useless hat that costs 50x that is fine. My mom's first cape was Fishing, with that fish she went from 65 to 99 cooking because she never sold any of the fish. She used the spare raw fish to sell and buy logs, then she started WCing. With 2 production skills she got 99 firemaking/fletching/cooking. All buyables, but other than fletching she didn't buy anything, and that fletching was bought because she didn't know what to do with the leftover raws. She's a woman obviously and therefore wears matching sets. You can't imagine the flaming when she wears her cooking/fletching cape. Just sad noobs being sad.
  2. Okay, so I'm looking at different ways to make money, and I'm thinking I should do slayer for a while, but first I'm getting... A FIRE CAPE. Hopefully I'll get it today. First attempt: Failed, wave 62/63. Quickpray lagged and I got 46-46'd. Gf 360s. Wave 10 right now, and I'll pick it up tomorrow.
  3. My LSP brings all the boys to the yard. Damn right, he's richer than you. That was a free 9M LSP, didn't get a pic of the Spectral, or the several elixirs.
  4. My mom, Denim Babie, just got 99 fishing like 1.5wks ago. She went crazy around 95, but ended up with like 11m profit, so good luck! You'll never see me fishing because it's way too tedious, woodcutting is where it's at.
  5. So after some hard work, I realize I need a good bit more cash. I could make money from fletching, and take forever to 99, or I could spend cash and get there overnight. So I'll be working on 83 Slayer, then 10 boots. This should get me the necessary cash, and it won't be TOO hard. As for my bank, it changes everyday, so I'll have it up on... May 22nd, my "graduation". And I'm updating my goal list as we speak.
  6. You have some nice photos. Oh, and by the way, YOU DON'T EAT THE EGGS@@@ Gratz on 99 wc/fletch, now get 68 summ :P. By the way, why/how are you so rich if you've had so long a dry streak at barrows? I'm poor and I get a piece of dh/guthan's every other chest or so. Oh and... ICE BURST.
  7. :-# No Ice Burst plawks! I tried to kill the guard in the square... Dmace failed >.<
  8. No more burning for you :x You're the same level as me in firemaking and I think your mining is higher >.> I feel nubby now. But at least I pwnz0r your wc :D Good luck on those goals, and don't forget to wake the Oomoo, Charlie.
  9. So I'm back, and I'm going to edit my goals to my newerish goals. I'm currently racing Denim_Babie to 90 fletching, but I'm going all the way to 99. A 99 in a skill will help my Total out, and will make me look cooler. My bank pic is going to take me a day or two, but I should get it. Other than that, I got many of the goals I was aiming for, and I'm aiming for 200kxp a day in fletching/defense. Oh and Range0r, I C WUT U DID DER@@@
  10. ... Okay... Your logic astounds me *bows*... Mage cape is easily obtainable without having to spend a lot of cash and even making some back. Ever heard of Curse? Yes, that's cheap and gives good xp. Range/HP cape is hard. #1 You can't power-train HP, #2 range costs a lot and isn't really used a lot, except for on some bosses and slayer creatures. Prayer/Summon cape costs a lot. Plus you have to get those charms. The Melee capes take A LOT of time. 13Mxp is 4,250,000 hits. That's a lot of things to kill.
  11. Tell the 20 people with maxed Thieving and the ~7246 people with 99 that it's not worth anything. Yes, 7,246 people have the Thieving cape, which is less than the 24,382 people with the more "respectable and difficult" Woodcutting cape. True, skills like Farming, Slayer, or Agility have less 99'd people. Just throwing out numbers. It's not that I don't think 99 theiving isn't an accomplishment...Personally, I have to (or should) give a certain respect to people with any 99s, because they have the patience to do something I can't. I may think that 99s are a waste of time....But I cannot honestly know if I would still think this had I the patience to get a 99. However I still dislike most skillcapes on the general principle that people get it for the cape not the 99. I'd be willing to bet that at least half (a more conservative estimate then my 99%) of the people with 99 theiving didn't even want to get it; but got it because they wanted to fit in and not feel like a noob with no skillcape. I guess it is because this is because I feel people should get skillcapes that they want, not skillcapes based on a desire to keep up with the Jones. Not just because they want to fit in and/or feel superior. But alas, that is the way the human psyche works, be it on runescape or anywhere else. And I can't say I'm immune to that mentality... To be honest I got around 48 Thieving so I could boost for Legends like a year ago. Then about 2 weeks ago I noticed I saw few people with a Thieving cape and noticed that a lot of people with a cape are around my level. I LIKE Thieving. You can choose to sit there and pickpocket a Farmer or KO Bandits all day, but I chose to do Sorceress' Garden (and have ~150 drinks waiting.) and Pyramid Plunder. I actually agree with your understanding. I see somebody at the GE with the fletching cape and feel jealous because they had/have a lot of cash and could be a level 80. But I also like to do some skills, like trying to race the clock on an herb run or... yelling at NPC's that I pwn them while I steal frogs and worms. :D

  13. Anyone who thinks farming is as boring as watching paint dry, isn't doing it right. Lol, don't you love having to do herb runs? You're right, farming isn't boring, it just takes some dedication and the right mindset. By the way; for all of you that say skills are repetitive... Thieving is just repetitive clicks? Have you ever done Pyramid Plunder for 4 hours straight on a PvP world??? Have you ever tried getting 1K Summer Sq'irk Juices??? That maze takes a lot of thought before you know the most effective path. It took me roughly 120 Autumn fruits before I could get it in ~30 seconds. It took a hell of a lot of time before I figured out how to 1 shot the winter. And I still haven't mastered room 5 and 6 of Pyramid Plunder. How about the Smithing skill? Prices change a lot and to stay cost effective you have to constantly change.
  14. A valid point. Quests are necessary for a good way to do skills, and skills for quests. Without regicide I wouldn't have at least 3 slayer levels. Without the Burgh bank I would've never gotten a full set of Verac's and Torag's for free ;). Well tbh I just got a Gspear drop and traded it for Vhelm and Torag's plate :P.
  15. Before GWD/GE came out, don't know when exactly, I saw a level 70 something with the quest cape. THAT earned my admiration, seeing how I was cussing out that stupid Monkey Madness puzzle because I was a noob who just bought himself a DBA and couldn't afford to skip it. A lot of people rag on skill capes because you can buy 99 fletching/cooking/construction/herblore/crafting, and a quite a few others. Now I see your point, those take maybe a week or two if you no-life and have the cash. Well, people that say that OBVIOUSLY DON'T THINK. Cook's Assistant? Prince Ali Rescue? Hell, ALL THE F2P QUESTS! The event quests that just came out? Rag and Bone Man? Priest In Peril? What? Those don't count? They're too easy and they only make up like... 20qp? NO. They do count, and a majority of quests can be completed in under an hour. I have 170QP, and most of my quests done are either completely nooby or just require a fight. [hide=Quest vs. Skill Analogy]Assume you have the stuff for 99 fletching... Now assume you have a friend named Qu357 N008 and you're both level 100 with about 50 in each stat, excluding your level 1 fletching, his level 1 herblore/summoning/runecrafting, which he boosts with his lamps after doing some quests and going to the museum. By the time Qu357 N008 gets 90QP (~1/3 all QP's) you just got 40 fletching #-o. Well, that's not fair you say. By the time our little questing friend gets all the stats for another 90QP, you've got 60-65 fletching, evened out a bit in that short time. He now does some easy quests for yet another 60QP and gets 30QP from actually difficult quests like some of the RFD parts and Ichtlarin's Little Helper. He's got 180QP and you've got 65-70 fletching. It takes him about 3 hours to do Underground Pass then about another hour to do the Elven quests and about 10 minutes to do all the cat quests. You've got about 73 fletching, still very far from that cape, and he's got 210QP. He buys some runes to boost himself from 60 mage to 70 and runs about doing all the little magical quests. He's got 225QP you've got 76 fletching. Jeez it's close. He does all the other little quests so as to get all the teleports and access to all the little nooks and crannies of RS. He's got 250QP, you now have 86 fletching because of how long he took getting those levels. He does all the other difficult quests and finishes RFD, 260ish to 89. He finishes Summer's End and Spirit of Summer, now he has over 270, all the quests but 1. You have 92 fletching because he took so long trying to finish Summer's End. 1 quest left, but you're only half way to 99. By the time he gets the levels to do it you have 94. Yep. Quests are so much harder. He does it and gets that 400k lamp and you get 95 fletching. He uses the lamp and now has about 65-70 fletching. Yep...[/hide] Now, it's true, you have to continually do new quests. But since While Guthix Sleeps there have been like 2 quests. The Halloween quest doesn't take too long and the reward is incredibly beneficial to people who love that garden :D. See my 808kxp today? Yep :P. In Pyre Need takes... 45 seconds :o. Ya, I know, they'll come out with a hard quest eventually, but I mean it's not like we skillers have to deal with our xp being nerfed or needing other skills/quests to get good xp or anything, not at all. PC nerf hurt quests bad, but not us skillers and fighters...
  16. Don't listen to me because I don't have any cape (Obsidian ftw), but I actually think a TRIMMED 99 beats Quest. I do a majority of my quests with a guide which generally makes it easier, but there have been harder quests, like Fremminik Trials and the one to get to Jatizso without a guide. Quests can really be a challenge, like Monkey Madness with 42 prayer -.-; it took forever to get through without getting k0'd, but I made it through with only 46 jailings and 2 deaths. I'm working on a Thieving cape right now, and even though it looks like I have 65 I have 73 :P. It's taken a lot of my time and focus and is actually quiet difficult. Getting 99 combats and slayer would take much longer than getting all the quests, seeing as you have to deal with long tasks as well as getting expensive/rare armour to survive. Sure, Use Knife -> Log seems easy, but it still takes time. Farming takes forever as well, so it is quite a struggle. Quests and Skills are inter-related. You need high skills for quests and you need a lot of quests to get some of the best training spots. Skill cape(t) > Quest cape > Skill cape
  17. As for the "pie paradox", it's just a replay of the Omnipotence Paradox, used primarily by Thomas Aquinas. There are many different parts to Omnipotence. Omnipotence: Being able to do anything. <- Fails the Paradox. Almighty: Being far greater in power than anything, nothing can contest. <- Defies Omnipotence. Absolute Omnipotence: God doesn't follow our laws and can thus do anything beyond logic. <- It kind of "cheats" the Paradox but in the end DEFEATS it! Essential Omnipotence: It's Omnipotent, ONLY BECAUSE OF LOGIC. It can't do anything illogical, but why would it try to defy logic? SUPER-DUPER GODLINESS!: G0D H4x0rzed j00!
  18. If God did exist, I wouldn't see our lives as some sort of "test". I think of it this way. We'd all be fragments of "God" and he'd disperse us (or himself, rather) throughout space and then he could experience this great universe that he created via all of our unique perceptions. Kind of like The Sims where you can create an awesome amusement park and then be one of the tourists so you could enjoy the park as a consumer instead of the producer. Maybe we, since we're parts of God, according to your opinion, made Sims so that God could play God? In that case, are our Sim characters God? Because if so... there's going to be some smiting... I hope their merciful...
  19. Wow, for once I actually heard a response to that argument. But then again, there has to have been energy to produce that, right? I guess using chaos makes the theory pretty impregnable though. GF.
  20. Sooo... Where did the electrons come from that caused it? The likeliness of an electron appearing out of thin air is about the same as a discussion about God not being an argument.
  21. About a year ago a somebody from a well off family in our church had some medical problems and my family and another pitched in as best we could just to be nice and helpful. 6 months later the other family that helped went into economic problems because of the overall horrible economy. Nobody helped. Also, Christmas (in all it's falsity) has lost its point. Was it not made to celebrate the alleged birth of Jesus/Sol Invictus? Now it's about iPods and PS3s! Makes me want to bash my head in when my Biology teacher talks about some new toy that you destroy your hourse and blame it on the toy, and the kid had to keep track of it and care for it, and it teaches them to be nice... Where in the bible is there a rabken or a Chicbit? Easter phails.
  22. That happens a lot in established churches... They lose sight of the "Did thou clothe me whilst I was naked" quote. It also reinforces a deist theory that God just chuckled and sipped some coffee while pondering about the rock paradox.
  23. 2 things, 1 pro-Bible, and another anti-Bible. In the book of Job it actually refers to the rotation of the Earth around the Sun. Another thing is that Sol Invictus and Jesus were both allegedly born on the 25th of December. Both Pagan and Christian religion had an infant entity. The sign of Marduk was a sword turned point down, which is *dramatic music* a cross! OMFG!!! Pwntthxkaibai.
  24. I believe in 2 highly contradicted theories... 1.) A higher entity is out there, but sits back and watches. Kind of the deist theory. 2.) We created it in our minds as a way to trick ourselves into being right and just. We created Santa Claus to keep children from being naughty. We created the Boogieman to scare kids. Now, this doesn't explain creation, or any of the trick questions used, but it does explain some things. Where did the variations in religion come from? Well have you ever played the telephone game with a lot of ill-informed people; the story changes. One person hears about Jesus, the other doesn't. This can be proven just by looking at Romans, did they have any Deities before conquering lands? Not really. When they picked up the stories of the Greeks they got more Deities. That's my opinion. I know it's highly flawed, and I am a Christian, but I've seen some flaws with the Christian belief (markedly Sol Invictus and Marduk) so I changed my opinion on the "true religion".
