I don't have any limit. Already downloaded 16GB of anime though :P. And Silver, Baccano! is awesome so far. I've only just finished the 3rd episode, but it's a pretty good mix of funny and bad [wagon].

hmm.. I might watch it first before lain then. Probably not a good idea to watch Haruhi, Lied and then lain back to back.

RS players like metal music?
You don't even want to look back at my post history, and all I can say is thank god posts on the old scapeboard are gone. I do still listen to a lot of stuff I might not consider crazy artistic sometimes. To me a lot of metal is just fun. I mean, who gives a [cabbage] if the lyrics don't make sense or it's just some dude wailing on a guitar. It's just pretty fun to chill back and listen to some mindless guitar [bleep]ery now and then. Of course I've been slowly moving towards other genres as far as more artistic music goes. I do have to credit metal for at least getting me into and interested in different styles of music though. I sort of feel that the genre its self is broad enough that it lends fans to look around a bit and explore.

Planetary Tag :O
Well the biggest thing is you need a good base planetary texture before anything. Well I guess you need to figure out what you want first, like if you want an earth kind of planet -- or a gas based one, or what. So make the texture sort of according to the geographical features you'd expect the planet to have. after that it's all about painting that texture correctly. Adding in clouds can be a great touch (it's hard, but there are a few tutorials around on it) and in general just trying to take some good time on the planet. Also make sure you're making the texture @ 2000x2000 or higher. That way when you downsize it it'll lose any sort of imperfections from any filters you need to use (like distort when making the planet). The best I've managed to do for a planet though is this.

brilliantly-animated badassery is awesome. :P And yeah I guess light hearted was the wrong word, I just meant something not as... meaningful as those other 3. Just a bunch of action :P

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Meh, Orange X3 is nothing but a deathmatch. I still think it's a terrible map (and that is usually the one I am talking about). At any rate scores usually posted from orange maps are pretty skewed usually.

I'm going to go insane soon... (Juicy :p)
No dude, he isn't doing anything wrong. I'm pretty sure if you were in his position where you're used to being able to use a computer whenever you like, you'd be pretty pissed if some randomer appeared out of nowhere and started running the place, not letting you use a computer that is yours just because she is talking to someone? Wow, all he wants to do is spend his free time doing something he enjoys, he's a kid/teenager, it's a need to do something recreational that you enjoy. I don't really understand the McDonald's part, so i'll pass on that one. You say that about him getting pissed because she has OCD, but I bet you've never lived with someone who has it. I expect you'd feel the same in his position. He's asking for help, not for you to be a jerk to him. About the computer, I'm pretty sure it's his dads computer considering the kid didn't buy it. I mean you can always just ask to move it anyways, it seems like his dad is being pretty supportive.

First things you do to a new computer
I guess the very first thing is to install updates and such. (what I did with my laptop). The first real thing I do though is load up a few intensive games (like crysis and such) and see how they run, so I guess you could say I pretty much benchmark the machine -- even before downloading antivirus software.

You need to work on the planets more, not to mention you need a background. (For a moment I almost thought you had stars on it but it turned out to be dust on my monitor) Really though, move beyond something like Greg Martin's planet tutorial and try to make an actual world.

RS players like metal music?
Yeah it seems that most stereotypcial MMO-playing nerds do indeed love metal. (Specifically: power metal) However most of my metalhead friends IRL aren't MMO-playing nerds, so yeah. As for me, I didn't even know what metal was when I played RuneScape. I had quit RuneScape by the time I had gotten into metal anyway. About a year and a half ago, I was a HUGE metalhead; I started out with Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Blind Guardian etc. and gradually got into black, death and finally progressive metal. However, about this time last year I heard Porcupine Tree for the first time and my interest in metal declined quite a lot. In October or November last year, I heard Loveless by My Bloody Valentine and that pretty much killed metal for me. In Janurary this year, I barely listened to any metal because I was exploring new music; nowadays though, I'll put on some Kamelot or In Flames now and again. I also had a period of exclusively J-pop and anime themes for a couple of weeks last year, on a completely unrelated note. It really does seem that people who love typically nerdy stuff love metal also. At least, that's my observation - but not all metalheads are nerds. To be honest this is pretty much the same with me. I think I had pretty much quit runescape by the time I really started listening to metal. I'm not sure how I feel about the genre these days. On one hand I do love just relaxing and listening to some metal just because its fun (something like Heloween, or blind guardian) but I've been getting more interested in other genres more-so. I can agree with the nerdy observation though.

The only thing I didn't really like about Elfen Lied is it seemed really forced at times. Like I said it seemed like they wanted to make you sad, and they wanted to just make the most [bleep]ed up kind of situation possible. It moved pretty slow at times too. I wouldn't really call it a favorite, but I didn't mind the style at all. And yeah we'll see how I do with Lain. :) I'll probably end up watching Baccano! after lain just for something light hearted to switch up the mood :P.

Yeah I just haven't really watched anything in forever. I finished up Elfen Lied... man that really was pretty [bleep]ed up Riku. I enjoyed it but it's just like they decided to do every saddest thing you could imagine and throw it all into a blender. :? Think I'm going to do Lain next. :)

There's no such thing as the Wii HD, that's a rumor. (A stupid rumor).

Bethesda Parent Company purchased id!!
To gamers this really doesn't mean anything. Bethseda and ID aren't going to start working together all of the sudden.

The Conduit
I watched that quick look, DarkDude, and had to keep reminding myself that this wasn't a game from [bleep]ing 1998. I mean I figured that halo was generic enough, right? This game makes halo look like a one of a kind game... Really though when your entire level is built around 3 or 4 prebuilt "areas", just with some different gas canisters (because we all know these are important in an airport) and luggage around, you know it's not going to be anything good. Man, goldeneye had better level design than this.

It's pretty good so far. I mean, don't get me wrong it is very [bleep]ed up at times (read up on the wiki page) but it's pretty good. Told you man, I literally got nothing to do haha. It's summer, I don't have (and can't find, [bleep]ing job market) a job and I don't know anyone here, due to my parents moving after I finished high school (so this isn't just an old high school town that I can hang with some old friends). Needless to say it's pretty boring here right now.

yeah ep 00 fits just before ep 12 chronologically. you watched all 14 episodes right? It should either have been melancholy part 6 or someday in the rain last. And they both have kind of an endy feel to them. Well after sort of thinking of it it did sort of have an ending feeling too it. It kind of felt like that after all that she was starting to be happy and satisfied with her world, so I guess it wrapped it up. (I finished it on EP 13 so I think that's someday in the rain). Still I think it did leave me wanting to know more, which I guess is what season 2 is for. I'm also like 3/4th done with Elfen Lied. Man, this show can get pretty [bleep]ed up on a couple of levels. Still even though I felt the beginning moved a bit slow for a little bit there (and the plot at first seemed sort of... odd) it's starting to make a lot more sense and [cabbage] is starting to come together now (Just finished EP 09).

Lol I usually manage to get even K/D even on classes I completely suck at. At least unless I'm having an off day, or playing a scout. :wall:

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Not to be rude (it's a nice score) but orange maps are so [bleep]ing terrible. Like, it's so easy to get a good score on them because it seems like the people that play on those maps (and that server especially) are pretty terrible. I dunno, I played on it the other day with Errdoth for like half an hour. I was playing as engineer and half of the time I didn't even get a decent sentry spot, yet I had a pretty damn good KDR just running around with shotgun :/.

Finished up Melancholy, pretty damn good. (just watched all the EP's back to back which is rare for me). I didn't manage to fit in episode "00" to anything though (which was the movie they showed), does it really fit into the plotline at all or whats the deal with that? I did find it odd that there was no real... ending to it really. Still it was awesome, a bit of a mind [bleep] there for a moment too with everything going on. Think I'll watch Elfen Lied next, since it's just 13 EP's.

Awesome, I'll check those out after I watch these three I've downloaded. Going to start watching Melancholy now. And I like weird [cabbage] so I'm sure Lain will be right up my alley.

Mom charged $80,000 per song for file sharing
Yeah, I agree with you there. Actually with the right amount of viral marketing almost anyone can get themselves out there on the internet with a bit of work. I remember reading about a new artist (I wish I could find a link) who decided to take up NIN's model of selling albums online. You'd be amazed at how fast word spreads about your music if it really is something good and unique. With social networking sites at an all time high it's pretty easy to get your face out there, and once you get a few fans they'll tell a few people and before you know it you've got a bit of a following. Sure, this might not be as fast as a record company hyping someone up because, lets face it, I don't think that the idea of looking around for artists online is still all that mainstream yet. I don't think your mainstream consumer frequents around and looks for new artists, even though with more and more using social networking sites such as facebook and twitter I think this new way of marketing can work. I can agree with this. I pirate because I don't think the current model of business works for a lot of digital entertainment. You would be surprised on how easy it is to tell if a game is worth $50 or not. Between multiple review sites, tons of quick looks and previews and trailers it is pretty easy to guess. Of course the big thing when it comes to worth for me is how long is it going to last me? Like I stated before I would love there to be some sort of way to "rent" PC games. I would love nothing more than to rent these games I currently pirate because, chances are, they're only going to last me a few days. I think this is a big downfall when it comes to PC gaming compared to consoles, at least as of currently. And no, I agree with you that piracy is not a longterm method -- it isn't a good method. I actually think we agree on a bit more than what we think. However I can tell you that what I am saying is true, and if you look at studies (at least between music downloading and music sales) even though the number of people who pirate music, games and movies go up... well, so does the amount of sales. There isn't any good link between piracy and sales to prove if it helps (or hurts) it. That's beyond the point though, obviously if everyone turned to this model it wouldn't work. And in regards to your analogy there, a lot of family that I know up in South Dakota actually do often times leave their front door unlocked. It is a small enough town that nothing ever really happens there, but I think that is beyond what you're trying to say too. I do think the customer gets to decide on what a product is worth, at least partialy. Obviously if they don't think the product is worth it they won't buy it, even more so for luxury products because they don't need it. See, this is where I disagree again. It's clear that she is being made an example of. In reality they should go after the "big dogs", but instead they decide to make an example out of this woman with a huge fee. It's wrong.

The episodes for Haruhi Suzumiya aren't in chronological order just so you know. Here's the correct order: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Th ... a_episodes That has 3 different orders, which is the best way? (I remember faintly about you guys talking about this before, but I don't remember the best order).
