I believe its possible, but you'd have to get some lucky merching breaks, and be able to access high selling objects (such as rune mining). It is possible imo.

Overpowered range...

Pures are more than worthwhile in f2p, as the added defense doesn;t really add much, considering that the best armour is rune. But above 70, they are kinda useless. I take most pures out, with 50 def & 60 str and att. The fact is, once you get into p2p, there is much better armour, and they find it very hard to hit through, whilst the better weaponry in p2p shreds their defense. So in my opinion, low level pures are good, high level ones are completley worthless.

Sell on f2p edge. But prices are dropping, thanks to the huge infulx of the macro fishers, who i've seen saying 'Sellin 100k cooked lobbies, 220 each' So you may want to reconsider your pricing...

Technically, i've been playing since classic, always on f2p. But once rs2 came out, my shoddy computer couldn't take the game engine, and it was terrible. I wanted to continue on classic forever, until they made it members only. I wasn't prepared to pay to play, so i quit. Made this account in about a few months ago, when i finally realised to could play rs2 on my fancy new computer :D Plan to become a member soon, might have a little look at classic again :)
