  1. I had a bad run of PKers at the Wilderness so kept mostly to the Agility Pyramid. Keep plugging till the food runs out then Ring of Dueling and pick up more full waterskins and magic carpet your way back. If you have access to Sophanem you can pack a bowl and use it on a fountain to refill the waterskins, plus pick up some more nummies.
  2. With 69 you should pass the obstacle much more easily than most. You only need to do it correctly twice, thank goodness.
  3. I did it at 58. The ledge was a tad annoying but fit in with my method. I'd walk in with full Mourner's and then switch to rune. I also carried Ardougne tele runes and about a dozen monkfish. The ledge agility hazard wasn't much different damage-wise than the shadow attacks and you only need to get to pass it twice during the quest. Yes it would be nice to make the return crossing safely but if you fall you're past it for just a few damage. When my food ran out (a lot cheaper than prayer pots and lasted longer for me anyway) I'd just blink out to Ardougne, pick up more food, switch to the Mourner set and plug a little bit further. Remember, if you want to fight Dark Beasts later, you don't necessarily need to sacrifice pack space for the Mourner gear and key. Take the back door to Underground Pass and make your way to Klank's shortcut. Then if you've been good about how you set that last red beam you can waltz right into the Temple the back way. And maybe someday that Crystal Trinket will open up another door when the Powers That Be get around to finishing another quest in the series. Any bets?
  4. Do you have anything against the Port Phantasmys furnace? It's a tad closer than Al-Kharid and just as convenient if you wear the Amulet of Ghostspeak.
  5. It all depends what that seed is for. If this is a Transportation Crystal seed (Tiny Elf Crystal), then dropping it permanently loses it. Slaying Elves will get you another. If this is a Crystal Bow or Shield seed (Crystal Seed), then dropping it permanently loses it. Buy yourself a new bow from Islwyn for 900k or a new shield for 750k. If this is a Crystal Saw seed, (Small Crystal Seed), then I would first try going back to King Narnode Shareen for a replacement. Then Brimstail in his cave, then finally Hazelmere on the Spider Island. I haven't had that bad luck myself, but the guides are silent on the matter of Crystal Saw replacement.
  6. I did this quest as a total noob and didn't beat the final Koschei form in the fourth fight. Is there a way to get the Fremmenik sword afterwards, and is it even worth trying?
  7. So what's everyone's solution for the boredom factor of growing herbs? I grow sweetcorns for tuna potato topping and hunt unicorns west of Catherby.
  8. Well, you can boost yourself one level by drinking Greenman's Ale. Buy a couple at the Yanille Pub so you can fulfill quest one level lower than printed. Getting to that point is hard work. Buy lots of filled vials at the Ardougne general store. Then get yourself into a room full of Chaos Druids and collect nothing but herbs. ID them all and drop the ones you're never going to use; stay until your pack is full of useful herbage. Dump at the bank and return for more punishment. You will go up a few fighting skill levels while doing this as it takes time to build up an herb supply. Take the time to collect 100 or 200 red spider eggs from the Varrock sewers. Get 100 or 200 limpwurts by slaying hobgoblins by the crafting guild. Do some farming by Taverly and spend the whole waiting time slaying the two unicorn spawns over and over for their horns. Buy your chocolate bars from the grocery in the Grand Tree. Buy your Newt Eyes from the Port Sarim Magic Shop. Never ever sell your unids if you want to advance in Herblore. You will need every single one of them later and will regret it. So where are those Herb Elementals, the Chaos Druids? Member's Dungeon northwest of Falador is the obvious place. If you have high enough Thieving (46+), try the tower northwest of Ardougne. Or you can just buy your components. Some of that cash you can raise by selling your prayer pots for 2k per dose in Edgeville (8k per full vial). Sell super strength for 5k for the full vial.
  9. I got from 60 to 65 on Ape Atoll already. Boots of Lightness, Spotted Cape, Ninja Archer Greegree, and Cakes. One load of cakes is quite sufficient for staying above 12 HP until I've picked up the next Agility level. I un-wield the greegree right by the stone hop and take the free Lumbridge tele out to clear my brain burn-in.
  10. As bad as Mourning's End 2 was, I think it would have been even funnier if the shadows had poisoned as well as sometimes heinous damage. Anyhoo, I'm no quest writer and will keep it that way.
  11. That 'learning through failure' patch sure made a difference. Even assuming a base 75% success rate for each of the 12 steps when the quest was originally unveiled, that was only a miserable 3% chance of succeeding overall. I had it in my head at one point that the map was literally cursed as Olaf said and threw it away each time just before stepping out, just in case mere possession guaranteed failure.
  12. 61 agility hasn't been good enough for me tonight, even bumped with a pot to 64.
