  1. I got my PhD in 4 weeks through University of Phoenix.
  2. I don't have a "did you know" thread. my apologies. however, you have posted on it, so you obviously know about it. and looking at your post on it, wow, you posted exactly the same thing as you did on here! isn't that great. I posted in it but my post had nothing to do with this thread.
  3. I don't have a "did you know" thread.
  4. So you don't give a smeg that you can see stars (other than the sun) in the daytime? You know, when you just repeat what everyone says, but in the form of a question, it doesn't make you sound smart. But to answer your question (again), no, I don't, and I can confidentally say many people do not. But you do realize that it's possible with the method I stated above, right?
  5. not that you know of....yet. And I'm not saying that everything you do WILL have a large affect on the world, I'm just saying that the possibility is there.
  6. Didn't have to read the rest of the thread, tbh. Yes, of course every decision you make is a life changing decision. It's your life. You decide what to do with it. You make masses of decisions like this every day, so my advice is, stop hyper-analysing and don't worry. It's life. I'm not really worried about it. I just found it interesting how every little thing you do could cause a much larger event to happen.
  7. So you don't give a smeg that you can see stars (other than the sun) in the daytime?
  8. I didn't think I had to point out that I was referring to stars other than the sun. I thought most of you had enough common sense to figure that one out.
  9. Lymnli's posts seem rather interesting. What do you have against him?
  10. Yes, the sun is a star but I'm obviously referring to the other stars in the sky.
  11. Whoever said faster than light speed travel is possible...proof?
  12. A common misconception is that you cannot see stars during hours when there is a large amount of daylight. While this is true when you just look into the sky with your eyes alone, there is one very small change you can make so you can see stars in the daytime. Simply cup your hands around your eyes. This will cast a shadow around your eyes, and allow you to see stars. If you don't believe me, just try it. The reason this works is that, as you know, light from a star travels across space until it reaches us where we can see it. The light you're seeing that creates the image of the star is actually light that is right at your eye. By cupping your hand around your eyes, you are making this light more visible by blocking the daylight that washes out the star light. Note: I'm talking about stars other than the sun. This may seem painfully obvious to many of you, but others are kind of slow to catch on.
  13. Really? You should try it sometime.

You figured that out all on your own? =D> Yeah, apparently you didn't get the memo though. Can you show me this memo you received, because I don't believe there ever was one? What the hell does that mean? Is he correct? If there is actually a memo, yes he's correct. I'm still waiting for him to show me his copy.

I have memories of being in an insane asylum but, according to my psychiatrist, those memories are just a fictitious story my mind has made up as a way to deal with every day life.
  23. After just watching Donnie Darko i got to thinking. Every single little decision you make could or could not lead to your death. Because the world is a series of chain reactions where everybody is reacting to everything, you deciding to blow a bubble with your gum could lead to nuclear war. Think about it....you blow a bubble with your gum, it pops in someones ear who gets so frustrated that he has gum in his ear that he punches you. You guys get into a fight(the other guy is black and you are white), people around you think it is a race thing and you end up with a large fight....eventually a gunshot goes off, a white person has shot a lightly colored "black person involved in the fight". It then occur on the news days later that the dead person is actually a Russian spy and the U.S reacts by sending troops to their new"missile defense system" on the Russian boarder. The Russians then take a drastic step and fire a nuclear missile at the u.s. It is now a nuclear war and World War 3 because of you. That may be a overzealous example but whatever. A simpler one, you trip when walking to class, a mean person sees that and laughs very loud and realizes that it would be funny to see the strange foreign exchange student fall down the stairs. After he pushes him down, the kid breaks his arm in 5 places and it will never function correctly again. Because he is always bullied he comes in after a brief hospital period and shoots the mean kid in the stomach with a 9mm. What do you think(also thank you to whoever read this entire thing, it was just kind of the thoughts of my last 2 hours and i thought it would make for an interesting discussion)
