I agree with that somewhat. I can almost always talk to my girl friends when I have something on my mind, but sometimes you need that male bonding. In my case, it doesn't always work. My male friends are very chauvinistic, and I can't relate to that at all. But you know, sometimes you just need to kick back with the guys, eat steak, punch each other, chop down trees, and make fart jokes. All guys do it. If any deny it, they're lying.

I've heard that as well. It was on NASA's site, I believe. I believe they said that they were able to pretty much tell what shape the universe was (spherical) and they found this out by calculating the average amount of atoms that occupy a unit of space. They said space wasn't a perfect vacuum. Anyway, the shape of the universe that they have come to the conclusion with supposedly means that the universe will expand forever (whether than expand to a certain point and collapse in on itself due to gravity from all of the galaxies). Is this anything similar to what you have seen in an article somewhere? I read somewhere, I think it was on either ESA or NASA that some physicists had found out, by measuring distance between galaxies or something that the expansion of the Universe was speeding up.. and that eventually everything will be so far apart it will be as if there is NOTHING. This is correct. The universe is not only expanding, but accelerating. This is where the big bang theory comes from. If you reverse this process, it all comes back to a single point. By the way, I would be careful if I were you. I got close to someone who had a girlfriend and she got jealous(?) and ended up dumping him because of me. Sooooo, tell the girl that you love her etc, reassure her if she starts getting suspicious/jealous. Yeah, I've been having problems with that lately. Not with my girlfriend, just with myself personally. Even though we've established that our relationship is platonic, I still flirt a little with my new friend. My girlfriend lives eight hours away from me, and while I would never cheat on her, I still can't help but be flattered by all the attention that my friend gives me. And that makes me wonder if this is totally normal, as long as I don't act on my flirtations.

I agree with this statement. As for girlfriends telling their guy friends more about their lives than their boyfriends, it might not even be anything REALLY important. I personally don't feel the need to complain to my girlfriend about every little worry and thought that I have. I reserve that for my closest female friend. I don't feel that I should put my emotional burdens on my significant other, and I wouldn't be at all phased if she did the same. Of course, I talk to her when it's something even a little bit important, but if I'm just having a bad day, I'd rather spend my time with her being happy, not complaining.

That's a very gross oversimplification, and it's wrong. Both atheists and Christians can accept evolution and the big bang. Take these Gallup polls, for example. [1] Even though Americans are around 75-80% Christian [2], around 50% of them accept evolution, be it with or without the aid of god. What you described is the current scientific understanding of how we got here; it's not an atheist creed. It just so happens that many atheists, having no fundamental contradictory religious beliefs, see it as the most logical explanation to how we got here. Here's the thing, Christians CAN'T accept Big Bang or Evolution, the Bible leaves no room for it. And in this case, your logic is an opinion. Everyone has their opinion of how we got here. For Atheists: science or whatever. Christians: God. It's facts to both sides, but still an opinion. You always seem to talk about science like it's another religion. If I put a horse in front of you, and asked you if it was really there or not, what would you say? You'd probably look at me funny and make a smartass remark about me being blind. That's kind of how people feel when other people completely dismiss science. You can deny and deny until you're blue in the face, but evolution is real, the big bang happened, and the Earth is 4 billion years old. No amount of faith and hope will change that.

I have a girlfriend whom I'm in love with. I just met this really attractive girl who is quickly becoming a close friend of mine. The relationship is platonic, and we both know this, but I still flirt with her a little. Last night we were hanging out with a bunch of friends, and we were sitting next to each other on the couch. Evolution isn't one stage of change, evolution is a constant and the human race even continues to evolve, we've become taller and unfortunately more susceptible to disease as we've evolved for the modern world. I see what your trying to say, but you still fail to answer the questions how no humans have fallen far enough behind to see noticeable differences in them. And as to were getting taller I understand that and I would include that under natural adaptation. Humans have not been around long enough to evolve in an extreme way. We've gotten taller, perhaps more intelligent, definitely more susceptible to disease, but those aren't relatively drastic changes. You're not going to see a human with wings or an extra set of arms for a few million years. Assuming we need wings . . . but you get my point.

Agreed. I live in California, and I'm still in shock that prop 8 actually passed. I'm not one to bash religion, but prop 8 went way too far. Encroaching on the basic rights of others is wrong, no matter which way you look at it. It makes me giggle that so many religious people actually thought they were fulfilling their God's will. Does God not teach us to hate the sin, not the sinner?

Just because the thought of a God makes you comfortable and happy should not be the basis of belief. Interestingly enough, I do not believe in God. Furthermore, one's basis for belief in God can be whatever they choose. If I want to believe in God because I feel that he gave us delicious bacon to eat, then so be it. And that's a damn good reason.
