  1. Thats what i was afraid of... -.-
  2. ok well i'm off to bed, i just checked the suggestion thread on the RSOF and there's a sticky for GE suggestions, so apparently Jagex wants to fix any problems they've created. We'll just have to wait and see.
  3. Welcome to the club 8-)
  4. Not if they put in 2 sets of armour in those 2 places...
  5. Wow...I never viewed it like this, and i beleive this is one of the most valid points I've seen. Gratz on putting the pieces together, but boy do i hope your wrong...
  6. If they are smart enough to do this in the future, why weren't they smart enough to widen the ridiculous trading range today, when there are effectively hundreds of items that are trading that normally do not? I'm skeptical. hmmm...Good point... :-k I have a strange, bad, feeling that they WILL try to set the prices for future items.
  7. Yes and no. They will attempt to set a market price. And in fact, they will set a market price, but only for the G.E. (If you want to humor me, and look at the G.E. as a separate market) However, the trade/forum/w2 market will set the true price. Being smart has nothing to do with it. They can NOT control the price of new items as long as there is another method of trading in the game. Period. End of story. Edit: To give an example. Think of the Abyssal Whip. Best weapon in the game when it came out. If the G.E. were around, and JaGeX wanted to set the price at 50k, they could simply put in a range of 45k to 55k, and set average price to 50k, right? wrong. No one would sell at that price, when they have the best item in the game. They would rather hold onto the weapon. Now think about what happens when people find out about this weapon. They make posts on the forums, offering what they are willing to pay for the item. WHAT THEY (the market) ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR THE ITEM. Yes i do agree with this point, but when summoning comes out, it's reasonable to assume that TONS of new items will be available to many players, and I realize that W2/forums is a seperate market, but if Jagex were to set the price in the GE for these items, the community would FOR THE MOST PART be strongly influenced by jagex's price range of the item.
  8. Well, so far the GE is generally what everyone expected, but the fact that you can only determine prices using a 5% margin came to me a little unexpectedly. Anyways, to get to my point, I'm curious to know how jagex will control the price of future tradeble items. Will they set a price at the beggining of a new items release, therefore manipulating the economy's natural price setting and balancing? Or will they be smart about it and let the item's price settle out for a few weeks, and then be introduced into the GE? Tbh, i seriously hope they go with the second idea, especially because of updates such as new skills, which will bring TONS of new tradeble items to the game (AKA summoning). Post your thoughts.
  9. Hehe yeah I'd like to think that I am. My goal is to finish this before summoning comes out
  10. Well, it looks like the big update will be summoning, and not archeology, so maybe jagex will consider this for the next skill following summoning
  11. Cooking... not to mention that probably one of the easiest ways to get most seeds is by Thieving. So yeah... pretty silly for anyone to say a single skill will be a "backbone" for another. If the skill was simplistic, like Smithing or Runecrafting I could see someone claiming that. But it isn't going to be simple as far as design goes. Otherwise we would've had it years ago. That's a good point y2g, I completely agree it won't be the sole backbone of summoning, but thats just the way it sounded in the development diary. I'm just curious to see whether hunter will get a big update from this skill.
  12. Jeeze RunescapeW, I must say i'm impressed... I've been checking out ur blog a lot and i swear yesterday when i looked at your goals section it said that you were still 94 mining... Anyways, pre-gratz on 99 and you should totally race to be the first to 99 summoning, especially since you have the ability to no-life alot :)
  13. hunters a joke it doesnt take long to get it to 99 you could have it there way before summonings released. Maybe if you play 10 hours a day...I have 99 hunter and i did not think it was a joke...All 99 skills are hard to acheive. Anyways, this thread has nothing to do with the fact that you have 99 hunter or whatever the case may be.
  14. Did Jagex release farming with either herblore or woodcutting? I think not...and what else is farming good for? And do you seriously not understand that you can CATCH animals using the hunter skill, and then train them in order to summon them?
  15. So, we all have seen the development diary, and theres no getting around it...Summoning is finally here. Having gotten 99 hunter a few months ago, I was of course interested when they noted that Hunter will be the backbone of Summoning. What i'm wondering is if you guys think that along with summoning, hunter will get a massive update as well. Do you think that we should stock up on any current hunter animals? or do you think low level hunters should raise they're current hunter levels? I was also thinking that this update could turn hunter into a massive moneymaker (more than with only chinchompas). Think about it...With mining and smithing, people who want to raise smithing fast BUY all of the ores from miners. If summoning and hunter are to be similar, the only way i can see it is people training summoning have to BUY the supplies from high level hunters if they do not have the required level. All I can say is I'm glad I have 99 hunter and I hope that it will give me a boost in training summoning
  16. hey everyone, just got back from a 4 day vacation, and i should be back on tommorow since i'm going out tonight. cya'll then :D
  17. lol sorry about that, I just got back from school so I'll add this critical info... I'm interested in golf, basketball, football, snowboarding (live in arizona though, so dont need a snowboard...) I like many kinds of music but i have full access to all the music i want. I used to play drums, but had a bad drum set and its not worth using it because it sounds terrible. don't really need any books atm. I have an ipod, tv with dvd built in, no need for a new computer. I also have a PS2, guitar hero 3 (=D), a basketball, golf clubs, etc, so i dont need those... lol any advice now?
  18. Well they certainly didnt test it very well thats a fact.... WOW...I'm honestly dissapointed in jagex and i dont even stake... Ive always stuck up for they're updates but what were they thinking? and how could that make a rants thread and call it brilliant? and wheres are hints about next years update?
