  3. Your wrong plenty of people ride real market trends to make money. These people know what they are doing and study the market for trends and buy it when it's slow and sell as the real demand rises. The people who ride price manipulator's waves are manipulators themselves. It takes a real merchant with true skills to know what items won't fall faster than they rose. People who realy merchant know what I'm talking about so if you don't then don't even start. "The people who ride price manipulator's waves are manipulators themselves." Jagex is a very smart company they will be able to tell someone who merchants solo because they won't invest as much as a manipulator will because they know the item will rise. Manipulators will throw a major junk of their cash pile at an item where solo merchants will throw a part of it so they don't get burned too badly if it goes wrong. Trends happen over weeks or even months at a time, manipulators make something rise then fall over a week's period it's very easy to tell a real trend from a fake trend. Again a real merchant would understand this. When they removed free trade and pking people swore they would quit and yet Jagex didn't take a huge impact or as much as those people claimed they would. Lack of new players? There are tons of new players entering the game Most people just changed the way they play and the only people who will quit are the hardcore manipulators who have no merchanting skill and all they know how to do is manipulate. The real merchants will still be able to make money because they have some real skill. First do you know me and can you tell me I have no market skills? So your saying manipulating other players is smart? Your saying that hurting other players to make money is fine? Your saying that someone who can tell trends and make millions per day with skill actually has less skill than someone who plays follow the leader? I doubt anyone else on this forum would agree with that. "Most people just changed the way they play" I think your thinking that almost everyone price manipulates. The majority of Runescape has never even joined on of those clan chats nor though about it. Price manipulators are hurting players directly for their our personal gain. This was considered item scamming when I started Runescape back in 2004 and I consider it item scamming today. Now with Jagex locking accounts of well know price manipulators I think that clearly states that they don't support price manipulation. I encourage them to step in because it is for the better of the game and I think many people will agree with that. Getting rid of free trade was for the better of the game and we stuck by Jagex then. If you feel Runescape is too restrictive then go play another game like WOW where rwters and macros roam free. I realy think you need to take a look at what price manipulators realy due along with having a long discussion with a real merchant about what they. Stating blatantly wrong and stupid remarks does not look good especially when you are still a budding member of these forums. Also I suggest learning how to use the quote function red text realy doesn't look great. I however need sleep and this will be my last post for the night have a nice night and take my advice it will help you.
  4. Thank you I requested that :) Didn't like Mod Mat K being bashed Also ya confirmed that Smokin Mils is locked not sure about Grandmerch3r.

Of course they won't do that- they're customer service team is too small in proportion to the number of players to do that. How many times have players been wrongfully punished, without proof, sent in an appeal and gotten it back five minutes later telling them they were in full control of the account at the time and Jagex had conclusive proof, which they never showed, that they committed the crime. Face it, that rout would have too many casualties, probably more even then the War Against RWT. Most wrongfully punished players have had their offences removed with the new system. Also considering you can now only make appeals if it's a serious offence Jagex has time to read all the appeals because they are swamped with offensive language appeals that would take off .1 blackmark's from someones account. Jagex isn't stupid they can tell who is manipulating and who is not that I am 100% sure of.
  6. Looks as if Smokin Mils and Grandmerch3r have been locked too. It's what I heard and smokin mils's cc is full so I am assuming it is true. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  7. He got muted for advertising that in Goldmerch cc  If they get banned you can still join their cc unless Jagex goes in and manually locks it.
  8. This and, I love how this is all working out. Wish I knew what world the Goldmerch riot was going on in. It would be fun to see the manipulators cry over this. It was in world 2 and mods muted the rioters quickly for spamming. Basically a riot with about 20 mad ranked members of the cc it failed :-#
  9. Happy to say I was possibly the last person to click "Kick user Goldmerch" :twss: I'm glad something's finally being done. You beat me to the kick    I was so confused about what you guys were saying. Then I read your names and I was like.. oh.. mod mmg's clan chat. Haha. What was goldmerch doing? He came in and trolled and flamed us and Jagex mod's. Anyway their cc is having a riot
  10. Happy to say I was possibly the last person to click "Kick user Goldmerch" :twss: I'm glad something's finally being done. You beat me to the kick
  11. Seems like Jagex has locked the account 'Goldmerch'. :|
  12. As for a Q&A session he hasn't done one of those in a very long time and due to complaining about not being able to see the questions and answers because the chat was full he stopped it almost completely. He comes in from time to time and takes some questions but nothign revealing anymore. As for the 5% thing I can confirm that yes it is the normal drop/rise percentage if the item shows a clear rise or a clear fall. Now Jagex changed partyhats to 1% and shield shields and 3rd age to 10% but that was to help the market adjust.
  13. You'll have to give him the benifit of the doubt though Das. It's alot easier to blame a single person than all the people who had the lower offers or the whole system so they choose to go for him. Also I'm sure if he did it he would be punished at work because I highly doubt Jagex supports such behavior.
  14. There is no proof to say that they did adjust prices manually and if magzar's explanation is correct then that is proof they didn't.
  15. I'm sure Jagex would take weeks to figure out whether someone is price manipulating or not with long logs of their ge transactions. They arn't going to go on one sale or purchase and ban someone right there. I'm pretty sure they'd treat this like macroing and do a heavy search into the person's account for a month or so back.
  16. So it's a sad day when a company intervenes on a major problem that is hurting their players and the economy? I think not. Thats like saying it's a sad day when macro's were banned.....
  17. Why haven't they done that already? But if they do How can they prove you are with someone and not a solo merchant? I see your point and I don't have an answer other than that Jagex could go off of player reports, find private forums and track players from them and, possibly, use trade histories. Not to mention that they could also have their GE Team get to work and (purposely) do what happened to limps and just lower the prices during the middle of the [bleep]es and make the clans lose a ton of money while using the rule as their reason for doing so. They can track what you have bought and sold on the GE for the past week just like they can track who has spent their penguin points that week or not.
  18. Update, got a chat log now. This was sent to me by a friend, Runkkupeppu (who killed me) copy-pasted the PM in team gwastrain's channel (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> im gonna ddos kid for max mage (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> i need u to prot me (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> kk (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> where (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> come by ditch (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> north of alter (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> where are u (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> where ddosing the uberlight (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> who lol (14:19:50) <@Runkkupeppu> theuberelite [/hide] How can they just DDOS someone at random? :? Pretty sure hes been in my teamspeak before, or I've been in a ts where he's SA Seems like everyone is getting DDoS'd, or claiming they got DDoS'd. I'm not familiar with high lvl pking lingo, what's DDOS mean ? Just wondering......why are all the IRC times the same?
  19. Not true, uncertainty is one of the worst things for an economy. If I know when I buy item x that It doesn't have the potential to suddenly lose half of it's value I am much more willing to buy. Uncertainty scares buyers and sellers because their items might suddenly become worth far more or far less So, do I take your statement to mean that you'd rather Jagex set prices on every tradeable item and leave it at that? Because if item prices stagnate, then they might as well do so. I'm not saying that unpredictable prices are desirable, but where's the interest in participating in a stale market? Free trade would be ideal, but since we can't have that, I'd prefer the minor tamperings of price manipulators over the hoarding of items by players as a result of the fixed floor/ceiling prices implemented by Jagex. Back before the GE prices barley changed unless of course the seasons changed and more people started playing or less people started playing. Rares would gradually rise and regular items would gradually fall nothing major like what goes on today. Spirit shields have been super rare and super junk in an hour due to a failed buyout and a dump. That never happened before the GE and the economy before the GE was nice and stable. Merchants even made money they bought items low from people desperate to sell and sold items high to deserpate buyers. That took some skill unlike price manipulation today. I'd say the market was the best it ever was 05-07 everything was going good even though we had macros ;)
  20. When a clan buys out limpwurts the herblorists and the people who use them have to pay more for their stuff because of unnatural demand. Now when the clans dump the people who collect the limpwurts can't sell them even for min and they lose money they could have had if they would have left the item alone. They cant grow them or gather them by slaying hobgoblins and increase the supply? Asides, if they did that, they might profit much more than paying 1k+ per second. I mean, these things went from what...1k to 1.2k? in days? weeks? cant be a HUGE supply of them for that small of an increase over a long period of time. And the GE does have buying limits. If you have limits and even they cant buy (As evidence from the RSOF thread) The supply is VERY low. People in this day and age have money and spend it for faster training because they can GWD or skill for the money faster than it would take to gather the limps. Actually the supply is quite large due to the fact f2p can kill hob's for limps too and as you said people can farm them. Are people not capable of deciding what an item is worth to sell to them and worth buying to them? People shouldn't have to worry about whether or not their item will become the next 3rd age for 3 days or whether it will become the next addy arrows p++ for a week. People get banned for bugs and glitches, not flaws. Particularly not when the flaw is well known to both players and Jagex, has been around for a year and a half without being fixed, and is not, in itself, against the rules. Jagex has stated the flaw is a problem and they are working to fix it but it takes alot more work than you may think to do so. A bug is a flaw in the game. Obviously jagex see's it as wrong otherwise MMG wouldn't have said anything and Mat K wouldn't have changed the prices(if he even did so in the first place). Abusing a flaw is wrong and I am pretty sure you know that along with most of the other players. But saying that it's been there for a year and a half is true however it has only become a raging problem in the last 6 months and Jagex is currently swamped with quests, the rest option, the new skill, and many other improvements to the game that the players want. Jagex is working to fix it and they called it a problem a few months ago now I'm sure they will call a major problem.
  21. When a clan buys out limpwurts the herblorists and the people who use them have to pay more for their stuff because of unnatural demand. Now when the clans dump the people who collect the limpwurts can't sell them even for min and they lose money they could have had if they would have left the item alone. Causing false demand and then causing false supply hurts the economy because someone somewhere is going to have to pay more when they shouldn't have to. Not to mention the people in the clans who are promised to make money usually end up getting dumped on by the leaders.
  22. To raven:So your saying if there is a flaw or bug in the game that you should abuse it because there is profit? Last I checked people get banned for doing that. Althought price manipulation may not be against the rules in game yet it is on the forums which tells you something.
  23. Just what I was going to say. But I'll give some nice examples... Take dragon claws for a real demand example. They rose from 100k to 40M because they were a great item, the supply was low, and the demand was very high. So it rose naturally and the market was not manipulted. Now people like Smokin Mils make fake demand and raise prices and they hurt people in runescape. Take limpwurts for example when they bought them out they hurt herblorists and people who used the pots. Price manipulators hurt people because they make false demand and then dump causing a massive 'supply' hurting the people who collect the product. The only people who win are the leaders who dump on their members then tell them to dump days later. I consider it as bad as people who did team scamming with stuff like hollow reeds and spinach rolls. It hurts the players directly and the only people who benifit are those who start it or lead it. They are manipulating prices and when Jagex decides to change the price they whine about it even though they are changing prices unfairly too. Seems very hypocritical to me. Either way I see what they do as wrong and when things hurt the players I would encourage Jagex to put their foot down. If they had done this earlier and killed it at the bud and hadn't let it grow into a raging weed we wouldn't have this problem today. To Fook: Again there was actual demand for rune items and she didn't manipulate to the extent of today but she just controled the market which is different than what is going on today. Bluerose=/=Goldmerch is basically what I am saying. Das issue: Just because he's an admin does that mean he can't have an opinion different than the crowd? No he expressed his opinion like everyone else on this thread and it shouldn't matter whether he's an admin or whether he's just a noob who's first post is on his thread. They both have the right to post their thoughts.
  24. Seems like this discussion keeps going on.. Heres something from awhile ago I'll repost it :P
