Well, I'll be doing some PKing, some dueling, some questing, and some of everything. This is my main, you know! :mrgreen:

Hello, Tip.It!!! First, I'd like to say that I know this has been done before, but I want to add a little more to the argument. So, the question here is: which is better to raise? Attack or Strength? This is for me and for the general community. Attack raises accuracy, or chance of hitting a red number. Strength raises your maximum hit. The way I see it, the Attack stat is like a coin. Whenever the coin lands heads, you hit red. Whenever the coin lands tails, you hit a 0. With every Attack level gained, the tails side of the coin becomes heavier by a bit. This means there will be a higher chance to hit red. Also, the Strength stat is like a prize wheel. To get a metaphoric spin, you must first land heads on the coin. When you spin it, the prize wheel has numbers from 1 to your max hit. Everytime you gain enough Strength levels to increase your max hit, a number is added to the wheel. Now, from this, it seems Attack would be the better choice to raise. But it also depends on the weapon you are wielding. For example, most people would use a whip for most everything. The whip hits very fast. This means that even if your Attack is low and you hit zeros, the whip makes up for that by its speed. Hitting a zero with a whip isn't as bad as hitting a zero with, say, a 2-hander. I'm planning to keep Defense at 75 forever, if you're wondering. I want at least 75 Attack and at least 80 Strength. I've seen duels with someone that has 99 Attack / 80 Strength vs. 80 Attack / 99 Strength and the 99 Attack person wins 7 out of 10 duels, roughly. Now I ask you, which is better? Attack or Strength? I'd like an answer and a reason. Also, if someone can supply me with the thorough and precise mechanics of both stats, that would be great. Thanks in advance for reading this and maybe even replying. NOTE: I will be staking Obstacles On, Prayer On, all types of attacking on, Special Attack On, No Forfeit On, Fun Weapons Off, Food Off, Drinks Off. I will be staking other mages, other rangers, or the occasional stupid warrior. One question: Does Shadow Barrage lower the Attack stat or does it lower the accuracy of Magic and Ranged, too? Because if it is only Attack, I won't be fighting many warriors, meaning it is useless. Do I use Smoke Barrage at all? I mean it starts at 6 damage per poison hit! But, I personally think the duel will be over before any poison damage occurs. So Ice to freeze them. Blood to heal me. Ice again when they're not moving. And, if Shadow affects Magic and Ranged too, then I'll use Shadow after Ice and for all other damage.

To anyone who wants to know, I want to get to 82 Magic. But, I also want some HP experience mixed into that. I will use Crumble Undead to 60 Magic. I will then do Family Crest and get the Chaos Gauntlets. Then, I will Fire Bolt until 70 Magic. Since 70 to 82 Magic will take a long time with Fire Bolt, I will High Alchemy the rest of my Magic levels. At the Zombies, I get 3800 xp per 100 casts. I don't know if that's good, so tell me. I could try Ankous, I guess.

So the consensus is that I should stay at the level 24 Zombies in Varrock Sewers? OK, but I thought there were better options, especially when you're a member.

Thanks to all replyers. I'm looking for monsters with a 50-70 HP range that cannot deal substantial damage to me so there is no need for food. How can I get to the Crandor skeletons and do they hit hard? Any more?

To anyone who gave me advice: SORRY AND THANK YOU. I was being an [wagon] before. #-o Any and all advice is appreciated. But, do you guys think there is still hope for my main to become into an obstacles on/armor on/prayer on/ice-blood Ancient mage staker? This way, it is much more clear as to what I want and therefore the advice will be of more use to me. :mrgreen:

I have 53 Magic, 70 Defense, and 70 Hitpoints. Where is the most efficient place to cast Crumble Undead without needing food. I've been doing it on the Varrock Sewers Zombies across the river but it isn't very efficient. Why? Because say I hit a 10, then a 15. They have 5 HP left, meaning I can only hit up to 5, where I could have hit higher on another Undead creature. Ankous hit too hard, especially with nooby Mystic Armor on. The Edgeville Dungeon Skeletons are great, but it's in the wilderness. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance for any help.

Who said mage staking is no movement? I'm planning to stake other mages and the occasional warrior or ranger while obstacles are ON. I've never heard of serioud mage staking with no movement, maybe that's why everyone got so confused and kept telling me no Ice spells. :mrgreen:

I hate to say it but you are an [wagon]. You know nothing at all of staking you ask for help here and you completly ignore anyone with actual good advice mage staking is hard alright? chances are you wont make it. You certainly wont make "$$$" maybe enough to get by staking some unsuspecting normal players for 50k here and there. But you will not be living the high life anyone with half a clue will not stake more than 50k against you and if they do...they know what you are up to and can beat you... But w/e go suck up to your "buddy" and maybe he'll tell you the same OK, Mr. I-Know-Everything-And-Everyone-Else-Is-Inferior. Let's look at what the first post asks. Now let's look at what the replyers said. bballer: tells me to start over... sirgudi: tells me not to use ice spells when I explicitly stated that I will use them because they are helpful in obstacle staking, which is the only staking real mages do. pantim: also tells me no ice (wtf is with this) deathdefire: tells me how to train when I explicitly stated I was going to Fire Bolt to get HP experience pantim: again with an unhelpful post telling me to alch or stun And now you, telling me they gave me "good advice." And also flaming me and saying "you know nothing at all of staking" when I probably know more than you. Also, I do not "suck up" to my friends (I don't know if you do), I ask them for help. I just wanted my questions answered. Out of 26 replies, I have barely gotten an answer to one of them. Now you tell me who knows nothing at all of staking.

When obs are on, do I use Smoke at all? Your right I ment shadow, sorry :P As far as the obs off thing I think you're right. Without it you highly depend on luck. With obs, you at least have to have a little bit of skill (not much I guess, but still :P) Doesn't Shadow affect Attack? Lol, if they're frozen Warriors won't be able to attack me... -.-

Thank you so much for all of your replies. I'm guessing that the only way to collect enough for an uncut Onyx is to sell items that you bought for real gp. So, what's the item that has the most Tokkul:GP ratio? Chaos is about 130 gp each, and sells for something like 9 tokkul?

On average, how long does it take to collect 260k tokkul? I would collect the naturally-dropped Tokkul and I would also sell any Obsidian items I get to the Tokkul store with Karamja Gloves on.

They are idiotic at the least. :wall: Didn't you ever notice, in your long and experienced RuneScape career, that Hitpoints is the stats that wins duels? :?: A staker must, MUST, have high Hitpoints. I do not believe I will achieve that by High Alching bows. #-o Using Ice spells is necessary in dueling. It is used mainly to freeze them in place, and because it hits so high. Any video you see of great stakers such as Woot3r 2005 or others, will only use Ice and Blood Spells. Hmm, I wonder what that means? :-w I hope you have learned your mistakes from this post. :shame: Ice > Blood > Blood > Ice when he starts moving > Blood > Blood, etc. according to Mrmegakirby, who I believe is correct. :mrgreen: The only thing I'm still not sure about is whether to include the Smoke types of spells, which poisons. Do duels last long enough for the poison to kick in? Or should I instead Ice and Blood only? :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

94 Magic is too expensive!!! Are you sure I won't win with 82 Magic? About the stats... I want to have 95 Combat with 82 Magic. I'll keep it the way it is. 94 Magic would mean I would need 200k fire bolts. That's about 40 million gp. THAT is a LOT. I have a good idea. I will get 82 Magic for now. With my winnings, I will be able to afford 94 Magic. Does that sound good?

I received a "Vanilla Visa Gift Card" for my birthday that has 50 dollars on it. It is considered a Visa Debit card.
