Ye Olde Hegemony
Arbalestiers = medieval snipers. Arbalesters(crossbowmen) = medieval riflemen Longbowmen(archers) = medieval machinegunners Shortbowmen = medieval SMGers Knife-/axethrowers/javeliners = gunmen Meleers = knifers Bait = flamethrowers They have their pros and cons, except flamethrowers/bait of course who only work when used tactically.

Good luck rusting bows and martial artists Archi.

Well, the steel bolt would anyways be more like the armour piercing version than the sporting ones.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
Using the 9mm was just to make it simple, the bullet I compared it to was actually a 5.7x28mm, a bullet which was even in a commersial version capable of penetrating a clas-II kevlar vest. Rocco, that depends, if you're hit in the heart or head you'll die, getting hit in the shoulder is "never" fatal.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
They're gonna penetrate basically anything that a 9mm bullet can. They are after all as strong as modern firearms.

Ye Olde Hegemony
Rocco, they're made from steel, anything else would break as the bowstring struck it. Also did you know that arbalestiers and arbelesters(crossbowmen) used to wear armour due to the lower need for mobillity compared to the bow, and I've got a thousand archers that fire while the arbalestiers load, and that I've got the most perfect assassins?

50% of my army is crossbowmen who can shoot through both armour, shields and meatshields. And spiky metal walls.

Ye Olde Hegemony
Well Dusty's army is over 100,000 strong, plus Dungeonal who would undoubtedly join in and that alone is probably 170,000 - 200,000 troops. If my calculations are correct, you'd get demolished. 25,700 troops (where most are defencive) to a value of ~60,000,000 (quality beats quantity) + a castle + possible help from Persia + possible help from others. I'd say my chances are about 50-60%

Just checking something... Ok, I was wrong... On the plus side we can play craps.

You would repay an opening for diplomatic relations with attacking the one nation who in this game has lost no more than one million and has bought nothing that wasn't military? I fail to see how that would seem logical.

All I want is that the technically Zirid city of Granada should be my embassy in Spain.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
No, Granada is currently a Spanish city, but at the time it was a Zirid city surrounded by Spain. Think West Berlin WWII.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
Yes it is, Granada belonged to a Zirid faction until past our current age. It is only fair that I recieve it as long as I do not use it for military actions.

I'm just saying I felt like it should be done... to avoid any possible incidents in the future.

Or you could just, you know, train and make yourself some armour. Had it not been for that I have low HHP and no melee weapons/training then I could solo a boar in close combat.

I somehow feel that we should start our own forum, that'd be a good way to free ourselves of the TIF rules that make our roleplaying harder.

Ye Olde Hegemony
Spanish as in current Spain, and technically since Dysty said he conquered Spain it should remain untouched as it is in fact Zirid land. Otherways conquering would also mean taking embassies surrounded by the conquered nation but belonging to another. Granada announces itself a Zirid embassy in Spain!
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
Technically I should have control over the Spanish city Granada since it was under conrtol of a Zirid faction until 1090. Also the Zirid empire was at year 1000 much broader on the map.

Wouldn't it be easier and faster just to go straight west?

Congratz, Doom. It is fitting that you as the first who joined the Hegemony out of us taverners should recieve the title and power of modship.

I think we'll let Ross do the drawing, at least until I fully learn the characters' looks. Union Jack mentioned, but why was I shaped like Eric Cartman?
