I'll soon start a massive technological expansion, I just need to get some things done first.

Well there's still space there, just imagine space as water and matter as salt, you start with a pool containing a few teaspoons of salt, that's the start, then you slowly add water, the water absorbs the salt and at first the water's really salty (matter is dense), but later as the bottom is filled there's some salinity in the water (about where we are now), but the water/space doesn't stop there it just keeps coming, reducing the salinity. Imagine the rate at which the water comes as the dark energy then heat as dark matter, the heat will cause some of the water to evapourate, reducing the speed at which the salinity reduces, however there's too much water coming to stop and so the salinity decreases until it is not even noticable (at which point the universe will just be a sad, sparse place). Now as the universe has grown sparse imagine that the water is replaced by acid, permanently ruining the salt(matter) itself.

Actually, the most likely end is space expanding to such an extent that it falls apart and dark energy proceeds to tear matter itself. That theori is because there's more dark energy than dark matter, at least so far as we know.

Gene therapy, or one could use a natural preditory virus/bacteria (think Metroid Fusion). Anyways to extract the virus you only need a saw/chisel and a large syringe. To isolate it you need a microscope. To find a toxin you can try local bio-toxins. To create a vaccine you can attempt to create a chemical coctail that causes a decease to replicate the toxin (use the RNA of a bacteria to alter the DNA of the decease). Inject in animals. Inject to yourself.
