  1. Cheers. I don't think your alone in that view and thank you for the post!
  2. well, i have the bones for 84, but after that, i'll need to find 60 mil to fund 99 :P so fast leveling might stop soon :XD: Hmm I wonder, is there another way of achieving that lofty prayer skill cape? Congrats on the game so far buddy, nice work!
  3. Scratch one fairly frustrating, expensive quest. [hide=Can you guess which one?][/hide] Many thanks to feva for some practical assistance, the ever helpful Elite Skills clan and of course the usual suspects on Lightning.
  4. What he said. Good luck with your fishing, hope your clue scroll is a good one.
  5. My wifey . My family :D. My buddies . This game and all the fun 'n' challenges it brings. The quiet enjoyment of good days graft on my allotment. Sinking a few beers with a nice meal. Yeah probably in that order as well...
  6. Apart from nicking your chisels, your house is definitely a great laugh with that new trap door feature. C'yah real soon buddy.
  7. Ouch, really, ouch. You don't speculate on how you were 'hacked' so I'd toss in the guess grenade of either; a) Going to a (cheat?) site that asks for account details or installs a keylogger, third party client perchance? B) Leaving your password and bank pin in a method thats easily retrieved/guessed by others. Heres a tip for the future, never log-in or enter your PIN number when anyone else is about in the room with you. Also, no disrespect to you or your trustworthy friend but getting someone else to access your account is a huge no-no. I'm glad your not quitting because of this HUGE setback. I'm a self-confessed pixel hugger myself and if I lost a third of what you had, be it through my own negligence or otherwise, I'd seriously consider if it was worth continuing to play that account. So to recap, heres my 2 cents; [hide=Just some ideas]A) Pick a reasonably complex password and unique PIN number, not a date or house number or similar. B) Never go to norti Runescape sites (no I'm not inferring that you previously had) or download and install 3rd party Runescape clients. C) Never write your password/PIN down/put it on your mobile/PDA etc. D) Never log-in while someone is in observation distance of your keyboard. E) Only use your own or family PC to play, you don't know if someone elses has a keylogger in![/hide] Well done for taking the decision to not quit. I wish you good luck and happiness in your future gaming.
  8. There were simply too many accounts with Jason in and I wanted something without numbers in. I tried a few other naming styles but didn't want anything with 'leet' in so I went with 'Giant Torti' partially out of desire to not have a number in my name but also because, well tortoises are kinda cute.
  9. Heard that. Another thing that really 'grinds my gears' is that players of this game, either the 'old school' that have been here from day one or the new ones that have just heard about it from wherever fail to grasp that this is a dynamic game and not a static development. This means things will change and inevitably those changes will generate either praise/benign indifference/riots in Falador. If you really dislike your experience of this game that much surely the best thing to do is make a decision on whether your going to devote your leisure time to what is meant to be a fun hobby? Doubly so if you have a fee paying members account. I cant really see Jagex rolling back the many man years of work and funding that have gone into this game to pacify the people that want Runescape to be a static product.

So we can laugh at them all at once? Yes.
  11. From Pulp Fiction... Marsellus Wallace, to Butch, who's just rescued him from a couple real bad guys. Marsellus: What now? Let me tell you what now. I'ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin' censored, who'll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talkin', hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'm a get medieval on your [wagon]. From Aliens... After witnessing the dropship that was supposed to rescue them, crashing and exploding. Hudson: Game over man... Game over! From Serenity.... Jayne Cobb: Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think? Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting. Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Define "interesting". Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
  12. LOLZ Yeah I'll be sure to put a bit more in the planning of the party bit next time. Mooch has done a really grand video of the moments leading upto the level 99, getting the cape and a celebration of sorts afterwards. Oooh look, a torti, on You Tube?
  13. Cheers for the bumpeh Lava. I'll update this a bit more over the weekend and stuff with some more screen grabs. If I get a chance I'll have a go at throwing my own video together and posting the link in here. Good night all!
  14. Hey Lava, Glad you could make it for the celebrations matey. Wouldn't have been one without you all. Hope you enjoyed the shiney free stuff and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on your current goals. Nice to see that the Grand Exchange is doing a bang up job of funding your construction.
  15. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Well, I guess you can never be too careful though? Cheers for the quick feedback. :D
  16. The style and mode of delivery of the message is a little unconvincing to be honest. Also I don't seem to be able to find an announcement to support the fact that this npc is now officially sanctioning parties. Colour me skeptical, if you will.
  17. Hello fellow citizens of Runescape! I have been fishing at Piscatoris fishing colony when Arnold has started announcing a 'drop party'? Has anyone else observed this or similar behaviour in the NPC's today? Unedited screenshot in the spirit of 'Without proof, it didn't happen'
  18. Bots/SSW'ers are definitely bad news for the community especially those new to the game. It means that guys 'n' gals that would harvest 'item-x' buy whatever legitimate method they use can't obtain a 'fair' or balanced trade price for there item. I suppose it could also foster an attitude thats more likely to lead regular, rule following players into methods that are against the rules. "They're doing, so I'll try it on as well". Everyone, irrespective of there skill level, pay to play or free to play, should be allowed to enjoy trading fairly without the Bot/SSW'ers 'distorting' there value. I think that given enough time and help from us the playing communities, Jagex will largely or completely get rid of this.
  19. I would say that the Grand Exchange is definitely a big step forward in the right direction for this game. Although the items I've sold there have been sold for less than what I could reasonably charge in the traditional bank sale/forums posting method, its a much better alternative because it frees up a large amount of time so I can get on with the task in hand. I don't think this is going to 'kill' successful and skilled merchants because of the margins in the price in the GE markets and what can be achieved in bank sales and forum posts. Adding a bank pin screen to collecting items/money would be a welcome update though.
  20. Gratz Torti :D I've been taking a bit of a break from RS, should be back online soon...ish. PS: Need any con tips? XD Well now you mention it, I reckon spending some of the accumulated wealth on construction, would be a bad thing.... 368K xp to fishing cape at 15.00 hours.
