  1. I'd leave it, its probably money thats been paid for with real world cash and then drop traded between accounts. It would be quite interesting to see that amount of gold just disappear into nothingness anyway.
  2. A lot closer to level 95 fishing, but still a way to go. For a break I've decided to go use up the last couple of thousand cannonballs on the Dagannoth. Nicely done, I've now levelled upto 61 on range. Guess I'll go do some more fishing, when I'm done blasting Dagannoth's to bits.
  3. Well I've finally got to level 94 fishing this afternoon. I'm going to take a break from fishing for a while, time to cook all the fish I've caught over the past week or so. Once I've done that, I'll think some questing seems in order. Heres a screen shot of my current skill levels, just as something to refer to in the future. [hide][/hide] The top screen of my bank for the same reason. [hide][/hide]
  4. If your replying to my last post, thanks. Yes I'd agree drug use will always continue, but I don't think theres anything wrong with giving anyone and everyone 'fair warning' of even 'harmless dabbling' (assuming there is such a thing) of any (btw I'm including alchohol here) 'substance'. Even if one person reads all this, thinks for themselves and decides "Hmm Nope this isn't for me", then its been a worthwhile exercise and a productive debate.
  5. Never heard of drug related homicides then? Gangs have fought, maimed and killed for 'control' of the streets where this stuff gets peddled. That is killing people indirectly. Not the drug itself, I think you would find the problem behind the gang fights is greed and ego, not marajuana. We're saying no one has ever OD'd on the stuff. I know what the poster was driving at, I'm saying theres more to this than someone 'firing up the challis'. Just because you feel no one has died in its consumption doesn't make everything 'hunky-dory'. An avoidable death .... Still think drugs are fun and safe ? Still not convinced? At the end of the day there's going to be people that are so ingrained in there ways, (addicted?) choosing to do whatever. Fine, really I have no problem with that, go turn your brains to mush doing whatever substance(s). But if your going to choose that kind of lifestyle, get used to associating with people for whom law-breaking is a career, doing time or paying fines isn't a deterrent. Like I've said in a previous post, substance ab(use) isn't glamorous whether it be a rampaging group of pissed up youths causing trouble for a neighbourhood or some junkie stealing whatever to get their next hit. The facts remain that substance abuse/use, violent crime, death and mental health issues are inextricably linked. The suggestion that the legalisation of cannabis, etc would somehow remove these issues is short-sighted at best and recklessly dangerous at worse. I'm just wondering if anyone can move past the 'bad alcohol - legalise pot' argument....
  6. On the news. Rioting and generally anti-social behaviour. If you mean in real life, hmm that would be a fracas I witnessed New Years Eve a few years ago. So are you trying the tired and well worn out approach of "This stuff is legal, but a certain sector causes problems, so therefore my choice of narcotic should be legal"? Fatally flawed argument. I didn't it say this discussion was about my morals, I said I was not moralising, which is a slightly different context of the word. To moralise. 1. Interpret the moral meaning of "moralise a story" - moralize 2. Speak as if delivering a sermon; express moral judgements - sermonize, sermonise [brit], preachify, moralize 3. Improve the morals of - moralize I beg to differ, this is about all our futures. Again flawed argument, alcohol addiction and its damaging effects on the person and society in general have been well documented. What your merely doing is looking to replace one substance with another. Hardly a good move I think.
  7. Never heard of drug related homicides then? Gangs have fought, maimed and killed for 'control' of the streets where this stuff gets peddled. That's why it needs to be legalized. Wonderful, so we get someone of the opinion that Marijuana has never killed anyone, then a confirmation that, drugs in fact do cause death, despair and suffering in the communities where tentacles gain a grasp. The school of thought that legalizing something of this nature would make the related problems in society go away must be naivety of the highest (definitely no pun intended) order. Don't think I'm being all moralising etc on this, its just that I've seen so much crap on this subject, at first hand in most instances as to the eventual consequences of usage of narcotics and I don't think anyone's life is worth trading in for a chemically induced state of mind. Realistically I don't think that theres ever going to be a day when mankind releases itself from the shackles of destroying itself with all manner of intoxicating substances, but one can hope. Before anyone comes back with "Don't knock it until you've tried it". Been there done that, moved on.
  8. Tom Clancy, but I've not read a lot of fiction for ages.
  9. How they get the centre of a Cadbury Creme Egg in and why it doesn't get mixed up in transit.
  10. Never heard of drug related homicides then? Gangs have fought, maimed and killed for 'control' of the streets where this stuff gets peddled. Oh I see ...... yup I'm totally convinced, on that basis then shall we start picking and choosing which laws apply to everyone. So when people start looting and forcibly acquiring property to sell on for there next fix, that'll be ok because people have been doing it for ages eh? The illegal narcotics trade spreads user related crime, misery and suffering to more than the person consuming whatever substance they are imbibing on. A fact that seems lost 'pro-substance' debaters.
  11. Quite a good idea. Heres mine. Get suit dry-cleaned for job interview. Brush up on all my insurance shenanigans for same reason. Get anniversary card for my aunts wedding anniversary this weekend. Keep upto date with my work on my allotment. That'll do for now.
  12. Ok here's my two cents on this somewhat contentious issue. In reply to the main questions laid out at the beginning. Hmm I'm guessing that in order to stay on air, they have to be seen to be 'towing the line' with regards to the subject. Whilst 'free speech' and reasoned debate about a subject is good approach, I don't think the media should/would encourage open incitement of flouting the law. Society is chaotic enough as it is. Thanks for asking, heres my stance. Having seen dozens of lives wrecked and adversely affected by the manufacture, distribution and consumption of 'soft' or 'hard' drugs I'm not convinced by the standard arguments that are usually put up as to why 'the weed must be freed'. Or any other narcotic substance for that matter. Now if you want to go out, look into all these substances and be fascinated by the 'wonderous' side effects and then get involved with all that, fine, don't look to someone like me to dissuade you. I'm not in the habit of forcing my personal opinions onto other people, can those in the business of peddling this stuff say the same? Doubtful. I've never been one for ingestion of pills, potions etc. Even prescribed stuff gets fully checked on the net etc for possible side effects. The year and a half I was anti-depressants was hell, but thats a different, but related topic. I'll put it down to having a reasonably well tuned sense of self-preservation that I'm averse to the consumption of 'drugs' in most shapes and forms. Personally I think that its something people can do well without but I doubt its ever going to change. Some people need an 'escape' or 'release' to help them 'deal' with there life and narcotics provide them with that. At the end of the day I'm of the the belief that people should steer well clear of this industry and try and find more constructive and potentially less harmful ways of seeking 'fulfillment' or whatever they believe these substances provide. If you want to see why I've got these opinions. Click below. [hide]School years, Observed, albeit indirectly, the net results of various gases being inhaled, one death. Sustained use in 'soft' drugs leading to 'suicide' or 'death by misadventure' of a class member that drowned whilst under influence. Teenage years, People that used to be my so called 'mates' getting involved in vehicle theft and theft from vehicles, to shuttle all manner of wares and pay for the 'habit' Teenage to now years, Parents burgled by organised gang (8 other properties in same street hit) to the tune of nearly ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã2000. Police told by the DPP to drop the case on the basis of lack of evidence, despite the fact a female was caught within hours trying to use my mothers credit card and cheque book (all before the days of chip'n'pin. Police confirmed that the case was drug related. Attempted burglary in rented flat, damage to property cost my landlord an undisclosed sum which then resulted in a rent hike. We moved. Burglary in which my wife was assaulted, net loss to us of nearly ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã2000 worth of property which eventually netted us a payout of just over ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã700 from the insurer some months later. Police again arrested 3 people but they were forced to release then due to lack of evidence, they again confirmed the case was drug related. A landlord that refused to pick up the bill for the emergency temporary repairs and was constantly finding reasons to phone us at whatever hour. I quit my job and my wife was diagnosed unfit to work due to depression. We eventually done a runner on the landlord and left him to it. Property in question is now regularly visited by the Police on drug related incidents. Drugs ruining friends family lives, Married man decides to use the distribution of 'warez' to fund his drug habit. Some months later he is paid a visit at the early hours by Customs & Excise with a 'universal door key' 1000's of DVD's, duplicating equipment. colour laser printers and computers seized. Some months later he's handed a custodial sentence, causing his children to be labelled at school and generally causing the irretrievable breakdown of a already tattered relationship. Hardly deterred by this, said person on release starts up more or less immediately his old ways.[/hide] Sorry if I went off on one a bit, but this has affected my life in too many bad ways, no doubt I'll be flamed for whatever grammatical errors this post contains.
  13. I've got a nice tropical fish aquarium, the problem is that the fish are either too good at hiding or when they do move its just a blur of fin. However here is a picture of my Bronze Catfish resting on the gravel.
  14. Congrats on getting on the forums! Look forward to reading your journals. :D
  15. I think to help cure your woes, we need a little more information. You say that you have done a full virus and spyware scan, presumably with the most recent updates, which is good. When you say you 'lose connection' are you referring to your machines connection to the whole internet or just the connection to the game? I would recommend that when you are playing Runescape, you shut down any browser's, Instant Messaging programs and anything else that could use your PC's connection to the web. It would also be a good idea to check the physical connections between your machine and the phone socket. Some extension leads are generally not suited to using dial-up internet, also you might want to see if other housemates are trying to use other phones on the same line when your on the internet. Someone picking up a phone whilst your on the internet will generally mess with your connection. Hope this helps but if it doesn't let us know what happens.
  16. Wowza that was a quick reply! Have a cookie! :) Nice table there Vaskor, thats very useful. :D
  17. Ok, thanks for clicking and getting this far. I'm currently level 93 fishing, 7451915xp at the time of posting, fishing monk fish. My question is this, which do you think would best way to get to level 99 fishing? Previously I have been doing barehanded fishing, but I'm wondering overall what you think the best way (if there is such a thing) to get my hands on that skill cape.
  18. This much remaining until level 94. Getting there! :P
  19. What Pokemon Are You??? You scored as a Lucario You'll protect anyone's live over your own: Even if it means you die instead.

  22. So a break from fishing over to some questing .... Erm, I think I should have done this one ages ago, but still its done now ... This was worth the effort of getting those combo' runes. Nice experience reward on this one. Watch out for traps .... Well back to the fishing, looking forward to getting level 96 for barehanded sharkies!
  23. Good luck with your goals, hope you have fun getting there.
