  1. The small updates keep the player base occupied while the more complex updates and created and perfected (well we'll just say perfected to make JaGex look good). If there weren't constant, small updates, I think much of the player base would become frustrated, even if it ment that the new skill would be uber amazing. You have to rememeber that we now live in the age of instant satisfaction. No morew waiting for a letter to come in the mail when I can have an e-mail reply in 7 seconds. Why would I want to wait for a god forsaken update when I can have 3 or 4 a month?! That's how RuneScape has to be to survive (yes survive, not grow). To grow, RuneScape has to come out with the new and interesting updates that will attract new members. In the end, I'm not sure whether I agree with you because some of the weekly updates and my favorite things to do. My best example for an update that was major and worked on for ages in Mobilising Armies. From the start, it was a failure. I'll take my killing trolls once a month over playing a single game of that horrible minigame. Which took longer to develop? The latter of course.

Am I the only one who thinks the trees in Fally look stupid now? I'm not one to complain about graphical updates, but the new trees look wrong.

I lag so bad when going to falador now, i really hope all the trees dont change tbh. I liked the old rustic look of the trees.

100% agree with both of these quotes :)!

Updates have served this purpose for as long as RS2 has existed. They are merely "bread and circus," meant to serve as a diversion from how tedious and ludicrously grindy the game is. With few exceptions, updates are not meant for serious players. The serious players will stick around and follow their routines regardless if Jagex updates or not. No, the updates are meant for the younger, less experienced audience-- kids with crappy accounts and even crappier attention spans.

  2. If anything, I'd like Jagex to go back and retweak existing content. Like, for example, making the Chaos Elementals drops a lot better or not making the drop on a dragon full helm to be downright abysmal.

Tweaks are just band-aids. They need to completely retool most of the skills and the combat system so that the game becomes less grindy and more interesting.

  3. Level 137 using a FM bot :wall: . I hid the name for the benefit of the doubt but once I planted the seed he stopped for at least 5 minutes, and never moved. Its kinda funny doing this to multiple low levels but kinda lame to see someone this high leveled using a bot.

People aren't scared to bot on their mains anymore. In a year or two, there will probably be more botters than legitimate players.

  4. This game is populated by 14 year olds, and 14 year olds are [bleep]ing stupid, so therefore this game is populated by [bleep]ing stupid people. :ugeek:

On a serious note, many times the people who run by are in fact noobs who haven't done the quest. It sucks, but it's a part of chinning you have to deal with.

  5. so im chillin minding my own business pickpocketing master farmers when i lose connection. i go to relogin and it says my account was disabled. i check my message inbox and nothing, then i check my offences and this is what i get.

i thought they said they were catching bots? not actual people playing the game?

Wait, so they're actually attempting to catch bots again? o__O

Naw, how it works is that when people submit macro reports (legitimate or otherwise), the account being reported gets flagged. All the "flagged" names get displayed on a giant wall at Jagex HQ, and the monkeys that work there fling crap at the wall. The names that get splattered are the accounts that get banned. Unfortunately, even monkeys can only crap so much, so that is why so few bots actually get banned.

  6. Haha, I saved up forever to get the 2.4m it used to cost to buy one back in the day.

Yup. I spent many weeks slaying hill giants for big bones in preparation for my first time as a member. I had a rich guy who was a perm buyer (some might recognize him, Centaurian was his name) and I made a couple million over time. Then once I did finally convince my parents to buy me membership (I was like 14 at the time), the first thing I did was buy a D med.

  7. Seriously though. Youtube is utterly free. There is absolutely no cost unless you want to pay for an extra special account. You should be grateful it even exists.

I tend to get annoyed when people complain about free stuff in general. The only thing that comes close to that in terms of annoyance is when people complain about something not being free.

I was mourning for my free hardcore... quoth the server, '404.'

  8. So I've pretty much been spending the past week with my girlfriend. Every. Single. Day. At first I was a bit wary of getting into a relationship so fast, and I wasn't totally sure if I liked her enough or knew her well enough to want a relationship with her (I'm impulsive, I know). But . . . I definitely like her now. I don't know if it'll last that long, but right now I'm happy being with her. She doesn't seem to be emotionally unstable/insecure (after Kayla, I refuse to ever date a psychotic woman again).

I don't know if this is the same for other guys, but I really like when a girl dresses well, which Kelsey does. She also works out and eats healthy, which is another huge plus. And the sex is great. Obviously a plus.

I'm still looking for a job, but I just applied at this very fancy, historically significant hotel in my city. I'm hopeful for that. I spend the vast majority of my time job-hunting in a city that has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. FUN FUN FUN ON FRIDAY!

My P2P runs out tonight and I'm not sure when I'll be able to renew. I'm very close to 117 dungeoneering and I'm slowly working on 99 crafting, but I really haven't had much time to 'Scape between job-hunting and Kelsey. Oh well.

I'm supposed to register for classes in a few days, but without money I'm not sure how that'll pan out. We'll see. My educational future is looking bleak.

Now would be a great time to win the lottery.

I'm so [bleep]ing jelly of you.

    I've never had a healthy relationship :(

  9. Do people not know how to scan files with an AV before executing them anyways? Do they not know who to trust and who not to? Christ, I thought this game was designed for adults who could decide things like this for themselves. You'd have to be an idiot to run an exe file posted by someone not known on here.

Yo dude, I downloaded all these trojans cuz they're supposed to protect my computer from diseases. They didn't work! It's totally infected now!!! :(
