  1. Anyone else think that the name Pazuzu rings a bell?

It's the name of the demon from The Exorcist

A lot of people also know it as the gargoyle in a Futurama episode.

    Yup, that too

    As per Wikipedia:

In Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, Pazuzu (Sometimes Fazuzu or Pazuza) was the king of the demons of the wind, and son of the god Hanbi. He also represented the southwestern wind, the bearer of storms and drought.

It is an unlimited charge druid pouch. You get it after escorting Jayene Kliyn from Burgh de Rott to Paterdomus. It's unlocked when she hits level 99.

I have always always wanted one of those, from the day that I got a druid pouch years and years ago. I love the symbolism of the name too.

  3. but we'll still play this game

if WoW lowered their prices to jagex's, i wonder how many people would turn to WoW.

always been curious the % of rs's playbase that play rs because it's browser based.

If WoW lowered their prices to Jagex's, it would kill both games. RS would die because people would quit en masse to play WoW, and as a result, WoW's community would become flooded with all the derpy 'tards from RS.

  4. Their detection system sucks donkey gonads, so even if they were to start banning bots again it would be like trying to bail water from a sinking ship using a spoon. Moreover, Jagex won't ban them because then they lose the money from the bots. It's more efficient for them to just rollback the bots, since that keeps the bots playing longer and they can say "we did something."

  5. What slayer tasks are you competing for?

Turoths, Black Demons, Dragons, and several Slayer Tower tasks are all camped by bots. You can use resource dungeons for Black Demons and several types of Dragons, but those don't allow you to cannon so you're still losing out.

  6. In Wicked's case he likes to boss, but TD bots that crowd the spawns and lower the claw prices take out the fun in the game. How do you think he feels about 17m claws(ik he stakes for msot of his cash-pro stalker-but I bet he would have a lot more fun if claws were valued higher. Bots ruin the game for everyone whether you think so or not.

I would think I was a big cause of claws dropping to 16 or 17M. :P.

Then again, I think the reason they were high before was this: How are claws lost in the game? When they held 32M, they were lost in PvP. If you killed someone and they lost claws, you rarely got them as the drop. Now, not many claws are disappearing.

You also get people like me getting a very steady 30+ pairs a month...

would still be higher cost if less there were less botters

Edit: Did some research and the 3 main botting sites didn't have TD bots and there were threads saying it would be impossible to make because there was no way to predict what combat style it would use next. There are probably more advanced botting sites(cant mention; hint: rid are the initials) that aren't as popular that might have a script like that. highly doubt it due to the feedback on those threads though. Maybe those 'bots' were jsut extremely anti-social

People can make private scripts lol, doesn't have to be released to the public. People that create their own script to gold farm wouldn't want others using their bot

I've only seen one TD bot ever created and it was never released to the public. ;). It is entirely possible to know what combat style it will use because you can actually force them onto using melee. Only about 3 of us (Me, my GF, and possibly Everto) TD killers actually know how to do that.

That trick is amazing, especially if you have Soul Split :shades:

  7. So many people without a clue posting in this thread.

Jagex is scarce to even admit there is a "bot problem," for they're fersure not going to come out and talk about it in an interview. If asked, they'll merely reply with a canned answer akin to "We are taking the problem very seriously."

I think interviewing either Andrew or Paul would be a waste-- they've been around long enough that they are adept in evading questions and replying with cryptic answers.

And if you don't know who Chris L is, you're obviously new to the scene.

Andrew's interviews were always pretty honest. If we had something along the lines of this Q and A, i would be very happy (quick find code 13-14-751-60323588).

Sadly Andrew hides in the bowels beneath Jagex and rarely pays attention to what goes on above him.

As far as I know, he just does engine development upgrades and really doesn't interact much with the other teams. So, yeah. He may or may not answer honestly, but I don't think he really knows much either way.

  9. So I was doing a farm run earlier and when I went to check on my calquat tree I decided to run over to the hardwood grove and see what the botters were wearing, hoping that they might have something I want. Turns out they did. There was one guy there, that was it, but he sure had what I wanted. He was wearing full third age melee, including the shield, bandos boots, a dragon hatchet, a fury amulet, and a prayer cape. I chatted for a bit with no response (of course that doesn't mean he's a bot, but there is one true test). I decided to do said test. I ran off and came back with the supplies for doing the jungle cleanup minigame and went to work. After a few minutes one of those broodoo guys appeared and I got him over by the hardwood grove. I went inside and stood behind the teak trees and he started attacking the guy who I suspected to be a bot. The bot continued to woodcut while being maged. After a few minutes he was down to nearly red barred (less than 100 lp I would say). Just then, a random noob appears (he didn't really just appear, he had been playing the clean up minigame the whole time). He uses the appropriate potion on the broodoo and kills it, leaving the bot so close to dying... As I start trying to get another broodoo to appear, the bot runs to bank his logs, but then he never comes back...

God damnit I was so close to having some third age gear and finally having enough money to take care of a buyable skill or two. <_<

Wasn't really sure where else to tell this story at, so I figured you guys might appreciate it.

Unspam..... Here's a genie in a scuba suit:

    geniescooba.png

Now there's such thing as bots with 3rd age gear.....>.> Holy [cabbage]

That was my first thought too. When he didn't respond to me talking to him I was like, this guy can't really be a bot can he...? Then when he just stood there while being killed I was shocked. Of course some random idiot would have to come along and ruin it all...

Idiots are to RS like water is to the ocean. Derpers gonna derp.

  10. The biggest update that came today was that they apparently (confirmation needed?) added a stat-draining stop attack to Nex to nerf the solo method.

In patch notes. Drains stats, speeds up overload timer and does 100 damage. Woox said he's still (ab)using it though.

Seems like a pointless change, honestly. There are probably less than 20 players who actually regularly solo Nex. It takes somewhere around 50 minutes to do ONE solo kill, and even then, you have to have all the best equipment in the game (Pernix + Divine) to stand a chance.

  11. Pros do slayer in full dragon (inlcuding DFH and square shield) with spike kits for the extra cool factor. :shades:

On a serious note, the BCP is widely agreed upon as the best non-degrading armor. Personally, I would use a Fighter Torso, since the strength is the same and the prayer and defense differences don't matter much. But I'm cheap like that. If you can comfortably afford it, Bandos is your best bet.

Also, dragon claws were omitted. Dragon boots, defender, and claws are the only dragon items worth using.
