Awww poor you.. Lol yes, poor me. I'm a girl and can't handle the pressure right? Or maybe I'm just annoyed at condescending children who gain their self-worth and self-respect off what they can achieve on an online game. In any case, I'm not worrying about it anymore. People know my opinion and I have many agree, I also have many that attack my making of criticisms rather than the criticism itself. So to you, them, and this quest, you can all get the single finger salute. I have to work now and do something constructive in this world. You know, I'm starting to think freedom of speech is unjust. You know, I'm starting to think people who don't like me should put me on Ignore and leave it at that. It's about superiority. People who've done it like to feel superior over the people who haven't. I think that is the basis for all the "Don't nerf Nomad" stuff on the RSOF. I also think all the people around here "falling on their swords" for Jagex is hillarious. They will never admit that it's possible they made an error. I also want to point this out. Because I believed them when they said GM quest swere gonna be long and have gradniose plots I'm gullible, but when people believe what they say about a GM quest and that a tough boss battle makes it worthy of a GM quest, that is ...?

People know my opinion and I have many agree, I also have many that attack my making of criticisms rather than the criticism itself. So to you, them, and this quest, you can all get the single finger salute. I have to work now and do something constructive in this world. Calm down. :-P You know you have a dissenting opinion and you know you like to vent them, take the hits, strike back and be cool about it. 8-) Yeah, I can't strike back. I have a very heavy hand when I strike back and it gets me in trouble. I don't have a middle. It's either I don't attack someone or I go nuclear. That's a personal defect of mine I suppose and one I can admit. They said today they will not be tweaking him down so I'm not gonna do it for a long time. Essentially since I cannot Soul Split, bring a Pack Yak, make some extreme potions, and am unwilling to spend the millions of coins to make multiple attempts at him, not that you can even get those thing atm, I'm not going to go anywhere near there for a while. I'll just go back to Slaying, Fishing, Thieving, etc. Things that I enjoy.
-
After making 4 attempts at this, I can't get any more Sara Brews/Super Restores or even Rocktails for that mater to make any more attempts. Now this is just my opinion, and many of you I'm sure will disagree, but after playing this, I don't think any quests, even if they are Grandmaster quests and even if people have been complaing for "elite" content ,should have a final boss this difficult. Quests should be more about plots and storylines. I don't find futility in combat to be that appealing.
-
Wanna challenge? Try to find someone showing you how to do this on youtube, *not* using Soul Split, Pack Yaks, Steel Titans, and/or Extreme Pots. -edit- I've also yet to see anyone use the pillar hide on yotube. They just tank that shiz.
-
This seems to be a common sentiment, but for the life of me I can't find anyone, whether it be on here or on RSOF, that says they're angry they can't wear their Quest Cape anymore. I think you're just taking people's issues with the quest and making it out into something else.
-
I'm not comparing it to WGS and then determining if it should be a GM, I'm simply going by what they said in the past GM quests would be.
-
While I do find Nomad to be too hard for any quest, even if GM, I don't recommend changing him in any way. My point has always been, a boss fight shouldn't make a quest a GM quest. Story, history, length, challenges(non-combat), and combat should make a GM quest. -edit- Consider the storyline for this and whether it is consistent with what a GM quest should be. "You have to go in there and see what the guy is doing. Oh and you have to fight him even though he is extremely powerful and the supplies are ridiculously expensive." "Okay, um, why?" "Because that Imp with the trouble annunciating over there said so." "Right..." :wall:

You are on the forums of a Runescape help site. The "you waste your life on video games" arguement is not valid. Although the way you said it was slightly comical. Well it was meant to be a slight on the people that spend way too much time on this and get too worked up about it. And I think if you heard the voice in my head saying it it would've been funnier. ... way a minute. The voices are back. Damnit!

I do enjoy the "I did something in a certain way so Jagex can never change it in any way shape or form because that's a nerf and I hate nerfing and I define myself as a person completely based on what I accomplish on a MMORPG and I've obviously invested way too much time, effort and sanity into this and now I feel sad" mentality. Quite humorous.

Yes, for the love of God give me a story. This one is skint to say the least.
-
Basically they pulled number 3 and that's my issue.

Actually it's not a Quest Cape anymore. It's now called a "IBN" cape, or I beat Nomad cape. The RSOF are asking if they can get an IBN on the QC and still have it be readable. Oh, and I love the fact that so many people are taking a dump on this quest due to it's lack of plot. It deserves it. I got more plot out of Cook's Assistant than I did from this. And that's what quests should be about. Plots. Not a killfest or some obscenely difficult bossfight. And Storm, not only do I agree with what you say, but I thank God that you are able to say it in an intelligent way. Certain people, such as Morningwood, cannot handle different opinons and must criticize you instead of arguing your point. B) -edit- oh and practically all the Forum mods on the RSOF are saying how they don't like this quest. It appears that all the people that have played this game recognize it's flaws and all the people who've played it for a year and are maxed combat are saying "Don't Nerf!"

I was curious so I gave it a shot with a super attack, super stregth, the rest of my inventory and my tortoise with Rocktails and I got completely murdered. He kicked my [wagon] so bad that after I died he actually slowed down my internet connection and now my RS is all laggy.

Perhaps, but no one ever said GM quests had to have grandiose plots. You're extrapolating that because of WGS. All that a quest needs to be a GM quest is either high requirements or really tough fights. All quests are rated in difficulty based on their requirements and the fights involved, so GM quests should be no different. Nomad is so hard that many people on the RSOF want him nerfed, that many maxed players are struggling to beat him. I'd say that this qualifies it as a GM quest. Also, this is a tie-in to WGS/Mysteries of the Mahjarrat. There is good reason to believe that Nomad is a mahjarrat, and it introduces what looks to be a key player in the future of that quest series. Actually when they released WGS they said that GM quest were gonna be long quests with grandiose plots. This has neither. It's just a master quest with an overblown boss fight.

Dragon, what a weak story for a GM quest.
-
Actually no guide, but I do want some help from people as to the boss fight, that thing that overblows this quest into GM ranking. And right now, everything is bought out and I can't get a rocktail, super restore, or sara brew to save my life. So Morningwood, do me a favor. If you think I don't have anything to say, put me on ignore. In any case, just leave me the hell alone. Dark, he reminds me a lot of the guy from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The first one. Began with an M.

No we consider it that because we were told they were going to be awesome and special. And they aren't doing that. Jagex promised us mammoths a few years ago! I want my mammoths! Just because they have a idea doesn't mean Jagex will stick to it, to be honest, I would be very, VERY surprised if any game ever made was exactly like the creators had in mind when they finished developing it  Yes but this has nothing to do with issues involving creating something. They simply told us one thing and did another. They could've done this easily enough, same battle mechanics, same fight, just not as hard and made it Master, or they could've made the quest be longer, have more of a story and keep Nomad as he is. The way it was done I think isn't right.

Can someone explain a good ration of Super Restores to Sara Brews? And how many doses of brew do I drink before I drink a dose of Super and all that?
-
I'm working on it. For the life of me I have no idea you are meant to stop him from eating the roots. He gets to all of them in 2 steps and I can't click them fast enough even knowing where they were. Took me 3 (4) pray pots and Falador Shield prayer-restore because of that. oh and Deflect Melee helped *a lot* on him. -edit- The Decaying Avatar that is. I succeeded destroying the 3rd root in time. He got away with the other 2. I suggest keeping the screen in a horizontal view and keep switching between the corners. It's not like you have something better to do :P I'll have you know I'm looking at porn thank you.

No we consider it that because we were told they were going to be awesome and special. And they aren't doing that. Now can anyone tell if this the *quest* is special or is the *boss fight* special? In WGS the Balance Elemental isn't even talked about that much. People talk about the quest as a whole, story, cutscene, all of it. Not to mention the opening up of Tormented Demons. This is a boss fight with a subpar quest used to wrap it up as a pretty present.
-
I don't care about losing my quest cape. It's no biggie to me. My point is that is they wanted to make this a GM quest then I think there should be a *lot* more to it than what we did. And if this thing was designed around the Boss Fight as I think it was, it should've been a miniquest. An elite level miniquest to be sure, but one nonetheless. My issue, and only issue, I have with this is its classification. Like I said before, in my opinion, a boss fight, no matter how difficult, does not make a master quest grand.
-
Perhaps it is only a label. But many of us had high hopes for the GM class of quest. They were going to be something unique and special. Doing things like this in my eyes, and the eyes of many others, cheapens it. It's just how we feel. its the first update of the year...no matter what jagex did (too easy or two hard), i dont think some people would be happy. some players just complain for the sake of complaining. every update gets the "worst update ever" trolls.... get this t-shirt :) Honestly, this quest, and I'm doing it as I speak, feels as if I was doing the part of WGS that takes place in Lumby Caves, and that's it. Only difference is it has a much harder boss. That's my issue. Other than that I'm rather enjoying it, despite it's lack of storyline.

Because GM quests should be special. This quest dopesn't feel special. It's a Master Quest with an ungodly boss fight. On another note, status symbol is fine, but I wear stuff for utility and as far as stats go the Soul Wars capes easily trumps the Quest Cape so I'll be wearing that.
