Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Me_Hate_Libs replied to forestfrolic's topic in General Discussion
That's wrong. I actually remember a Jmod mentioning in a Dev Blog how update days are frantic and they have to coordinate loads of simultaneous releases ect... Would YOU want to be dragged into work over Christmas? Nobody wants to work at Christmas and generally most businesses close or let their staff have time off. I don't see why people think Jagex should be an exception. I don't begrudge them taking the week after Christmas off as it includes New Years as well. I'm cool with that. It's the week after that one that flares my ovaries. You telling me they can drag themselves in on the 6th to give us our update? I'm annoyed. -

Basically this. It was discussed before but decided against being stickied. There are already six stickies in General Discussion and adding another one would just create more clutter at the top of the page and push other topics down further. On another note I wonder what their first tweet of the new year will be. Happy New Year wishes maybe? Maybe an apology for the two weeks without a single update? Psh like that would happen. <_< -
Yes, many people think the skill will be Barding. That would be an awful skill. So no Barding skill, okay Morningwood? Er... I mean rise.

Duh?

I'd be fine with them being 10-15k as they complete run restore could be worth is sometimes, but honestly people paying millions? How stupid.

technically you can buy spinach rolls from rasolo, that isnt the case for mint cakes just sayin I said the current Spinach Roll, thereby implying that the Spinach Roll had a history. The history of the Spinach Roll being that it was a common item that could be easily attained, but got a reputation for being rare, despite how worthless it is, and had a value to some people that were ignorant of what it truly way. And I'm talking about like on Classic. So yeah...

I know. I was making a face. I make lots of faces. :)
-
True. I'd love to cast a spell on a cake and have a load of quarter appear in my hand. :)
-
It's basically the current Spinach Roll. Who cares? I can sum up Mint Cakes very easily. "A fool and his money are soon parted." There. That takes care of that.

It's a lot like a garbage can. Let the kids hang out in there and complain, meanwhile the adults can go talk about improtant things... er like fictionalized histroy of make believe Gods... <_<

Actually, my point was that the two Elder Gods when working as a pair, are powerful enough to create and shape a plane. Seperately however they would have been too weak to do it, as proved by the absense of Jas. And I think that you might overesitmate the powers the Elder Gods have. Guthix could be more powerful than Elder Gods too, in some ways and weaker in others. It's not something we know a lot about.

Well, it's one of the reasons why I think the Meeting/Making History quests are a gold mine that aren't being used right. Imagine if we had a quest chain that didn't necessarily have a storyline arc, but instead could put us in various places in the past so we can witness all the major events in the history of Gielinor? They could place us at battles in the Godwars, during the fall of Senntisten, when Zamorak stabbed Zaros, all that. We might even be allowed to have a hand in it since we're traveling through time. Maybe we're the ones who retrieve the Staff and are the reason it was returned to the Guardians? That would be sweet. A quest about stealing the staff, then one about returning it, lol.

My personal theory regarding it is that Jas and Armadyl were the pair of Elder Gods using the combined efforts of their items created the plane. For an unexplained reason, likely a fight between the two, Jas left the plane/or was killed and his stone was left behind. Armadyl took a slumber similar to Guthix's as Armadyl alone couldn't take care of Gielinor by himself. Then Guthix arrives, finds both the artifacts, and shapes the world. This awakens Armadyl, or he wakes up sometime later, whatever. I think that the Godwars take place and Armadyl is roused into fighting and uses his few forces that he still has, basically the Aviantese to fight for him. When he realizes it is getting out of control, it is Armadyl that awakens Guthix to put an end to the fighting. Guthix makes everyone leave and Armadyl realizing he has nothing left to do here takes off. However, because both Artifacts must remain on the plane to continue it's existence, Armadyl must leave his Staff behind. He entrusts his followers to protect the Staff while Guthix entrusts his followers, i.e. Juna and the Balance Elemental to guard the Stone of Jas. Guthix goes back to sleep, people get up the some shady stuff, and the stuff is stolen and moved many times over. As we know, the Staff of Armadyl was used to stab Zaros right? Okay, that's fine. But in Temple of Ikov quest the Guardians have the Staff again. No one explains how they got it back, and got it back from a god no less, namely Zamorak. There is lots of stuff we don't know. Most of this I have based on absolutely nothing but tidbits of information, more bits of missing information, and gbeing completely done in on morphine for my broken wrist when I came up with this crap.

I don't know about Marimbo or the Desert Pantheon specifically, but Seren is the second deity ever to arrive in Gielinor, just after Guthix. Can you provide the info then of when Armadyl came to Gielinor? i've been having suspicions that he may have been one of the Elder Gods. That seems like an odd theory  Well, it comes from the fact that I never personally have found any conclusive proof of when Armadyl first came to the plane, or if he left and maybe came back before. And of all the Gods, with the exception of the Elder God Jas, we know the least about him. Also it correlates to a personal theroy of mine that the Staff of Armadyl and the Stone of Jas are meant to be used in conjuction with each other. I don't think that the Staff of Armadyl is an artifact that is the source of much power, but is used to harness great power. For example, the Stone of Jas would be the source of electricity while the Staff would be the wire through which is travels.

Or they're having a great holiday. Seems like quite a long holiday. Plus a lot of them still have to be there working. It's not the kind of thing you can leave to a couple of people to "take care of" while you're gone. And anything that would have been released during this holiday would've been done long before the holiday. It kinda sucks this whole thing. Let them enjoy the holidays, you defeatist. There were many updates in the past weeks so 2 weeks without shouldn't hurt. And yeah, there are people working at Jagex 24/7 but that's most probably not the content team. :P I guess I just don't like the reason for their holiday then as I hate holidays. The days, not the vacations. Oh, and my original point was if they take two weeks off, they better come back with something good. And I don't mean more hairstyles and another Leprachaun makeover.

Look, if it's good, it's good. If it sucks, then it'll die and they'll learn their lesson. It's a lot like the XFL. So let them do it. Let it suck. Let it die. Then they'll put so much effort in Runescape. :)

At the price of the game as a whole. If it wasn't for that, the game would've been ruined. Personally, I'd say screw the PVP. If people want to PVP, take it to the minigames. I'm over all the 76king and the complaining that has come with it. I'd say to Jagex, grow a pair and toss it.

Given the next 2 weeks without updates, maybe it'll be then. 2 weeks without updates means they better have something great on deck.

I'm more than willing to wait for a good skill. I don't want some piece of crap half finished skill like Hunter coming out.

I think that's pretty much how it's gonna be.

Christmas events are only anticipated because they are pretty much the only new f2p content that they get. Only f2p players with a high level of exp are allowed to post on the forums. Because those high levels have done so much that this thing doesn't mean much to them, they are the loudest of the complainer about these Holiday events. This is the cycle of the Holiday event. I really wish they'd change things. I miss the the Holiday quests. That idea had potential. As for the articles. Typical fare. Nothing groundbreaking. Just expressing the normal opinions that most people share. Oh, but I hate the idea of "getting into the holiday spirit." Bleah.

It's not even terribly difficult. Please try for 99 Mining and then tell me if that takes forever.

It's not rudeness. It's avarice, complacency, and/or indifference. It's not that we're happy or unhappy with you, it's that we really don't care. Sorry, but I really don't care what someone I don't know just did. There are millions of people in the game. It becomes one big mishmash. So I just stick to what me and my friends are doing.
