  1. No...this is not the spelling error that I once had on my science fair project board. :wall: Typography or whatever, my first try. LMK what you think! It's freakin huge, so...yeah. The actual file is muuuuch bigger and in CYMK color format. I can make a banner out of this bad boy. [hide=biiiiig][/hide]
  2. I don't want to sound arrogant, but any engineer in the navy/coast gaurd will know my dad based on the high quality of work we provide. It's something I want to stress on the website. That submarine you see in the sample, that's the USS Bowfin. If you're ever in Hawaii, its now a museum. The hull started rusting out, and my dad got the high pay contract based on our previous work. The Bowfin is credited with destroying 44 enemy vessels during WWII, bit a history I got to see. I'm not too concerned if it looks perfect. I've seen our composition's websites...they suck just as much as our current one. Another thing, the Navy now thinks they're idiots. One of our competition ppl, BSE, their welders put in the wrong hull on the Port Royal. It just gives us a time extension on our part, a whole month they delayed the project...and with the speculation of a 3rd WW, I don't think a shortage of battleships is something we need. I think their stupidity speaks for itself. With the history of this ship (ran into shore RIGHT after leaving our shipyard for repairs), they need a thicker hull.

I kinda have to agree. The image in the tut you used, it seemed more "blended" if you know what I mean...and still managed to have several colors.
  4. Hmm, I got a few ideas from the link littleboy. I didn't find the comment aggressive or anything, but I appreciate the fact you provided some insight and examples rather than what some other people would comment.
  5. Yeah, I wanted to keep the background simple for now because I was planning on adding some blue print/wireframe kinda things. Just wanted to get the basic look first. Also, I think the bevel makes it look nicer. It just looks so boring without out it.
  6. Something I'd like to know too please.
  7. Really? I like the bevel, I think it gives some depth and a nice rounded look.
  8. This is actually for my dad...for father's day. We have a family company, a shipyard in fact. Well, I dont think I need to say anymore, but this website is for the company. The one we have now is old....very old. VERY old. Did I say very? Well you get the idea, I;m gunna save all the files on a flash drive and wrap it up, making sure i have my laptop when i give it to him. Then I can show him whats on it and tell him, :) So this comes from the heart, please be gentle with criticism...as I know some of you really can't help yourselves  i also work here, 40 hours a week during my breaks as a welder and mechanic. Also, if you see the really crappy pics, its because they're very old and our secretary hasn't emailed me any pics yet and I needed something to put here. For obvious reasons, I've removed contact info, address number and email for obvious reasons. But they would normally appear below the main banner. [hide=Example 1][/hide] [hide=Example 2][/hide] In the back, I was thinking maybe wire frames or mixed with blue print kind of stuff. Makes it look nice while maintaining a professional architectural look, no??
  9. Thanks for all the help guys! Very much appreciated.
  10. I know, I just realized Ps had a spell check! Need to fix all that. if you guys see anything strange at the bottom of the page, just ignore it, i'm experimenting with some codes.
  11. Care to elaborate before you tell me to start over?
  12. Just noticed i spelt signatures wrong. :wall: And my text under recent seems to be out of place....hmm
  13. Well I gave making my own website a try. I only have the home page done so far. When I look at it, the thing that bugs me is that its not big enough to fill up the screen. What I want is to have my "main area" to the right of the screen and use a repeating background to the left that'll make it full the screen. Also, I'll be posting my gfx stuff there, so where would i find codes to have an image viewer box...thing. Here's what I got so far, so read too much into any of the content, just threw it there to fill it up for now. Here's the link: www.anawati.ucoz.com Even though the webhost is ucoz, I didn't use any of their premade templates, the web page was made only by me. Thanks! :)
  14. Ouchy, Skully, There's no need to be a bunch of jerks and what you said was uncalled for. It's pretty obvious what she did, she made cat ears. Hell if someone had to high light them for you, that's pretty sad imo. In Japanese neco means cat and mimi means ear. So hence necomimi means cat ears. It's not because "they want to feel special," stop being so closed minded.
  15. Well, I was trying to get something out of it. I'm still new to this type of sig, my real experitise it the pen tool and vectors. I also just started getting into textures and manips. I'll try to work on this later, but final exams next week. :wall:
  16. I've only made 6 sport related sigs, only 4 of which i even have on DA. Don't see why having natural flow come from something sport related is bad. I didn't use any tuturials, all of this was original. Experimental is the samething as playing around... About the blur, I was trying to create depth, but didn't turn out so well. Anyone care to chime in?
  17. The image i wanted to use had 2 focals, but I really wanted to make a sig out of it. This was more experimental, mostly c4ds and a little bit of smuding. Feedback please.
  18. Maybe curtains hanging on the side of the window a long with a window still make make the window more recognizable. The sink needs depth, I know its in its basic stages, you you should outline where the sinks drops down and stuff like that, it just looked like a grey square.
  19. I was afraid of the danyor manner when i first started playing. I would adjust my camera all the way to the bottom and look at it from as far away as possible.
  20. Promise replied to Promise's topic in Art and Media
I tried it, it looks a tad better I guess, I just had to add another gradient though because it makes the stuff i want hidden visible.
  21. Promise replied to Promise's topic in Art and Media
Well..it only looks decent on multiply or overlay. Any suggestions?
  22. Promise replied to Promise's topic in Art and Media
I got the second version up.
  23. Promise replied to Promise's topic in Art and Media
Good point. I edited it a bit, I got the chest area to blend much better and have a lot more depth, but I'm having trouble with the face. Any advice?

Hmm, really? I like being able to see the detail of all the cracks.
