And the lightbulb and socket work even if you're not married. This has absolutely nothing to do with the meaning of marriage. You're making a tradition a reason. Tradition: getting married before having kid. You turn that into the whole justification for getting married. Are you married ? I am. There's nothing about kids in the vows. Oh and I know you're gonna say it's not just a tradition, that's it's also a rule for some, and that's where we end up back in the religious subject. Except 1) not everyone follows the same religion, if any, 2) even if that's a rule for you, I hope for your sake that there is more meaning than just having a kid in your marriage (whether you're already married or not). What's funny is that this whole discussion has turned into an interpretation of the Bible as a Christian, with total disregard for any other religion that may exist out there. Just one thing, Hannibal, Jehova's Witnesses CALL themselves Christians. I, however, classify them as a sect, since they isolate themselves from those who don't follow their rules, which is the definition of sect. And last time I checked, religions, whatever they may be, weren't about isolating oneself, but on the contrary, about spreading the word and proving their worth by one's actions (well Jehova's witnesses do spread the word I guess. That familiar knock on the door when you least expect them...). Yes, i understand that they do, but that's not the subject we're talking about. Yes, that statement does go more against homosexuality itself than their marriage, but it's still related to the subject. He said there's more to marriage than just reproduction, which is true, but I was just saying that man and woman were made to be together. It goes off topic if you just quote it by itself, but if u quote it with his post, it stays on the same subject. I kno it's more of a tradition to have kids after you're married, but if you go back about 100 years, you'll see that it was more of a rule then. This past decade, sex before marriage really skyrocketed. (which is y i wish i still had my quote in my sig, but mods took off -_-) basically, 97% of high skool students have had sex before graduation, 3% wait till marriage. Yes, there's more to marriage than just intercourse, but the issue at hand is intercourse. Reasons why it was made for marriage: 1) It could result in a child beaing conceived (sp?) and a lot of teenagers aren't ready for it and adults also, they don't want to have a child to take care of. 2) Reason why STD's have skyrocketed, too much sex before marriage. The reason this subject got turned mostly into a Christian arguement, they're the main people who oppuse it.
  2. no proof? 1) do you hiccup? thats proof 2) you have a collar bone? thats proof 3) look at the back of your hand, see the lines? thats proof why is this proof? 1) fish hiccup to get rid of water in there lungs(or whatever). we hiccup, but we dont swim, its a fish attribute. 2) collar bones for walking on all fours, and i cant see many humans doing that... 3) the lines is the result of scales, if we didnt have scales, it would be smooth thats proof 3) those are actually lines from where your skin bends. You stretch and bend the skin a lot on the back of your hand also...y you have them at your elbow too. It just helps the skin be more flexable. P.S. My hand is smooth :D

Seems not. Don't act like you're right all the time.. Well, do, if you want, but don't tell people who don't beleive what you beleive that they "can't think".. By no way am i saying i'm right. I'm saying that people don't think anymore. He missed the connection between my post and the arguement. twice..... Well if people are missing the difference then maybe you have to explain more. It wont hurt you to explain. What was I not getting? (if I was the "he" you were refrering to) When i said that if you have a relationship with Christ you become more and more like him.....Meaning He wasn't a homosexual, so you wouldn't exactly becoming more and more like Him. Your reply "Your absolutely correct" that post seems like you're just saying "yes, that's a true statement" like i just said a fact out of the blue. And yes, i did explain it, but u quoted me 2 fast and missed the edit

Could you please read again? There. Is. No. 'True Bible Believing'. The Bible is not a set of rules that are so strict they are universally interpreted the same. You are saying that the way you see the bible is 'true bible believing'. That's hubris, my friend. I'm pretty sure you're not God, so how can you be sure the way you see things is the exact way God intended it to be seen? As for the bar thing... we actually have a youth service at my church, organized every two weeks by youth for youth. It's fun, we have breaks in the service, and yes, then you can visit the bar and grab a drink / sandwich (no alcohol though). Actually the Bible is a set of rules. We are supposed to live by the Words of God. and it seems like you're saying the Bible is not what God inteded it to be? And the 2nd statement.....goes back to my last post...i gotta spell out everything for people.

  8. gehjl replied to mk's topic in Off-Topic
Just because someone continues to sin doesnt mean that they cannot have a relationship with Jesus. It may be hard for a homosexual to just become not a homosexual. Everyone sins when they know what they are doing is a sin and just because people do that, it doesnt mean Jesus doesnt want to have a relationship with everyone. I agree that Christians will want to follow the law but that doesnt always happen. Everyone has lied and will probably keep lying, but that is a sin and everyone sins, but that doesnt mean that you cant have a realationship with Jesus. Just because you decide to follow Jesus doesnt mean you are going to stop sinning. Everyone will sin, Christ follower or not, even if they know what they are doing is sinful. If you have a personal relationship with Christ, everyday you become more and more like Him. And when you turn your life over to Him, you repent of your sins. Meaning you admit what you did was wrong and change your ways.
  9. gehjl replied to mk's topic in Off-Topic
Yes, they can follow Jesus, anybody on this earth can. Will they have a personal relationship with Him? No. That's why I said a homosexual cannot call himself a born-again believer. I guess you would be able to tie the 2nd part with the 1st, but it seems like you have to spell everything out for everybody now. Oh, and Hannibal, here you go. Romans 2: 24-27 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã
  10. lol, y do u get scared? Yes, there's some church's that yell at the congregation, but I don't see that as right. Well it would be hard to believe that He created us because our mind cannot comprehend it. And for why do people get sick, it all depends. God can choose to make some1 sick if He wants them to repent, wake him up, or trial him, or some cases punish. Side note: I hope your talkin about life threatening diseases, and not like common colds. And for wars and osama, it all come to free will. He gave us the right to make our own decisions and live our lives the way we want. *claps* I can't believe people are still capable of saying that. If you isolate a minority of a species and put said group in a situation where it has to adapt or die, eventually the only genes that will be passed on will be those which help it to survive. Mainly because those which couldn't would've died. The rest of the species will NOT adapt along with it. Why? Because they have no reason to. However, if you want to follow your logic: there should only be only one species of every animal since all of said animal would've adapted at the same time as the rest. And if you disagree with that, you deserve to be hit in the head since that is exactly what you implied with your monkey analogy. Now, make your choice. Personally, evolution works. I don't see how that relates to my sentence. Of course i'm not talkin about the entire species, how is an animal in japan gonna be affected with what we have in america, i thought i wouldn't have to spell it out for u. I just wrote that because he didn't put that monkey---> man as a life/death situation, so i wouldn't exactly see it as adaptation. He said they evolved just for the heck of it.
  11. I see where you're going with this, but think of it this way. There's still monkeys living. If it was adaptation, that means that the monkeys wouldn't be alive anymore, because they needed to adapt to survive. Ooookkkkk.....try to make posts on topic. Yes, greatsilverwyrm, the frog to cow was intentional. But that's the base of evoultion, from 1 to another. Dog to dolphin if you'd like... Also...creation does come back to christians, since they are the 1's who believe in it, so u might get religious posts. Since creation u'd need a higher power to make you, religion plays a part in it. it was in response to paul_wilsons' wish there were polls on tip.it, that is a poll on church goings, so pretty much 90% of people dont go to church for chrisian reasons I still don't get it. Why that poll? He didn't even ask for a poll..... It's not even a tip.it poll...nowhere near the subject.... And what's the site of that poll? I'm curious the people it polled.... Edit: Here's from a poll of Americans: 45% of American adults attend church in a typical weekend, not including a special event such as a wedding or a funeral. (2005) So either u made that up....or New Zealend is really messed up.
  12. hmmm.... Christian boy- got called that at work Mini me (of my cousin) which i'm taller and older than Squeak and mouse by some girls in middle skool...dunno why.. Then we call this one african american guy at work Oreo cookie. Black on the outside white on the inside. LOL he's a pure white boy  Then we have this one white boy who swears he's black  ...we call him oops oreo. White outside, black inside.
  13. actually that is considered evolution. It isn't adaptation, since a dog would be just as good living on the earth. He didn't need to go into a dolphin to make his life easier. It wasn't a life or death choice. It sounds like ur making evolution and adaptation the same. The dog--->dolphin was a slow process. It didn't happen that the next puppy it had was a dolphin. Evolution- Monkey to man, dog to dolphin Adaptation- Bald dog in antartica to dog with hair. Depends on what higher being you're talkin about. But let's say my God. sry greatsilver, but i can't answer this question w/out referin to religious things. He was there before us. If He's a real God, there would be no way we could comprehend heavenly and goddly things with our brains. We are limited to what we can comprehend.

That's the classic argument.. However, there are lots of reasons now to get married aside from the whole children thing. Not only that, but there are lots of married couples who can't reproduce, or don't want to reproduce, and go into marriage knowing that they won't have kids. What about them? Yea, there's always situations. But besides the reproduction, it was just made. For easy sake and G rated.....the lightbulb works when you stick it in a socket. 2 lightbulbs or 2 sockets don't make light. and the classic "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" it all depends on the church itself. A true Bible believing church would not marry a same sex couple. P.S. There is no such thing as a born-again believer who is homosexual. It's like a christian murderer. Don't get me wrong, if they repent, of course they can be forgiven, but they cannot follow Jesus and be G*y.

  16. There's a point between Evolution and Adaptation. Evolution is going from a let's say frog to a cow. Adaptation is when you adapt to your enviroment. What you said is adaptation, not evolution. I believe in Adaptation, how an animal can in a way control his offspring to better his life in his environment, but I don't believe we came from monkey's. As you can prob. tell from my avy and sig, I believe in creation.

at least it's not in the U.S. NEway, they have the same rights as us, why should they have extra rights? It's just not right, the whole point of a marriage was to reproduce, i don't exactly see how they would do that now.

Nice, lucky... My job sux, i get paid 6.12 a hour to sit in an A.C.'ed office and play pacman on my phone while parking a car every now and then. The we try to slap each other on the butt with a ping pong pattle. It sux.... 8)

If I caught someone doing that with my car I would report them to their manager and then if they didnt get fired I would probably take some legal action against the company. And your proof would be? It's your word against the company. And plus, read the little ticket stub they give you..we're not responsible for anything. Fine then I could come back with a crow bar the next day and smash your head in, there is one rule you DO NOT touch another mans car. You're pathetic, you "test drive" cars you not ment to because you stuck in your crappy valet parking job while you see people who are actually successful driving proper cars. Gratz you just became another tip.it fool who thinks that messing with other peoples stuff is fun. whoah there little guy. go ahead and do that, and i'll make sure i break ur head into bankrupcy. *sigh* another "insulter" who just goes off. 1) I love my job 2) i'm studying to be a pharmacist, and i could care less what some 50 yr old man is drivin when i'll be driving my skyline soon. 3) don't valet your car 4) What kind of car am i supposed to be driving at 19 yrs old? I drive a new honda civic. I LOVE my car, it's not the best, but i pay for it. My parents don't help me with the payments, my mom just helped with 1k for the down payment and that's it. Rest is all me. I'm sorry my Rich parents couldnt buy me a BMW and then brag off about something i'm not paying for  btw....IT IS fun :D P.S. Rule of thumb when insulting....never get angry ;)
  21. gehjl replied to gehjl's topic in Off-Topic
ok.....first of all, we do not treat all cars like crazy. I test cars, if i get a car i never drove before and it's nice, of course im going to test it out, it's human nature. Another reason could be, i'm packed and i need to hurry. Can u tell me what you saw them doing? and what's wrong with kids doing it? what would u want? an 80 year old man? he's worse than teenagers. And who are you? telling me i'm irresponsable? Everytime i backed into something, i looked. It's either they were in my blind spot or they came out of nowhere, coincidence that both cars i hit were low to the ground? and if it's only valet parking, i can assure you that this would've never happened. I know where the other valet is, i kno if he needs to bring a car. Accidents never happen with 2 valets. A valet hits another person, so don't blame it on valets. and let me guess, you probably signal when you back out of the spot too? make hand signals when you turn? and your seat is at a 90 degree angle? And don't judge all valets based on 1. When i took my car to the dealer for maintanance, they stole 10 dollars in change. Am i supposed to not trust all mechanics because 1 stole from me? Am i supposed to not trust all dentists because 1 molested a kid? Are all people bad because 1 ripped me off? (most are, but that's beside the point) And since when am I "Stealing" cars. They gave it to me, they have the option of parking it themselfes, no1 is forcing them to valet it. Oh and btw, it'll only be a matter of time, every1 has an accident, and i'll be LMAO when you do. Edit: I think u misunderstood me. I NEVER took a car on a joyride. The only thing i do is floor em on the little straightaway in the parking. I don't take cars on the streets just for the heck of it. The only time i do is when i'm obligated, and it does happen. Then its.......1 nice car + 1 open road = why not If I caught someone doing that with my car I would report them to their manager and then if they didnt get fired I would probably take some legal action against the company. And your proof would be? It's your word against the company. And plus, read the little ticket stub they give you..we're not responsible for anything.

  24. gehjl replied to gehjl's topic in Off-Topic
yea, sometimes we take cars on joyrides, i don't kno what i'd do if i crashed it on the street. There's no way 2 explain that. Words of wisdom: If you have a fast stickshift car......don't valet park it  U have a good point runesmithie, a lot of people don't learn from what happened. I learned, i'm a lot more careful now when backing out....seeing how this is the 2nd time it happened...
  25. yea, i know how it is. I was the same, but now i'm not that much better :P i weight 135 6 foot. The powder does work. It will help u get big, just drink it on a regular basis, work out while your taking em, other wise you'll get a beer belly, and IMPORTANT.........DRINK A LOT OF WATER. The powder can give u kidney stones if u don't have enough water to break it down.
