A fear of the future - controversial updates
something like that except i dont like the chainsaw to carrot analogy i think the original RWT battle was necessary however jagex couldve fought it the right way and upped their security, why should we suffer because jagex is too cheap to pay for gameguard or another game security company? instead they update the game and affect most players of rs (in some way) with a silly update This analagy fits better: Jagex is more like america during WWII they declared war after they were attacked and then instead of finishing a war with troops they throw in a nuke after that nuke as been thrown anything is possible, after a nuke has been thrown im not surprised to see another (or at least a few chainsaws here and there) after all the second nuke to be launched (irl or rs will never be as necessary as the first) Nobody knows the right way to fight a war until it's over. The nuke analogy also fails horrendously.* Perhaps you could use a lesson in history. What do you mean by "up their security"? Do you have any idea of the amount of security already in place physically and logically? [Or do you know anything about computer security...if you don't I'd be wasting my time.] The best and most effective way to stop this scum would definitely have been to update the game in such a way that their business is virtually inoperable. It's like you're a child, or some teenager that refuses to believe the truth. Do you understand the gravity of the entire thing with RWT? Because I genuinely don't think you do. [hide=*]Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor first, and what we did was launch a counteroffensive in the Pacific. The very idea of sending in troops to occupy the islands of Japan was quite improbable; these guys were hardcore warriors that would sooner die than give you an inch of turf. So, after Roosevelt passed on, Truman gave them their choice: either surrender or face destruction unlike any had seen before. They didn't surrender, so they were nuked - twice. It isn't like [the US] overreacted. Sending in at least 500,000 troops to occupy this nation just could not be done. It was with a heavy heart that such a decision was made, but the thing is that it was the only logical course of action. I'm sure that when you become an adult and can see the true effect wars have on people, you'd understand.[/hide] yeah bad analogy id rather not get into ww2 history and by second nuke i was refering to the nuking of japan as one event and the second nuke being one if its ever used again which would be the equivalent of if jagex ever used one again and your right arguing over RWT is pointless im sorry for opening that can of worms i stated in my first post that the original RWT updates are here to stay and i agree some type of update was completely necessary and about the security their main methods were to track bots not keep them from starting up in the first place from what ive researched myself *from the history of these bots* to publicly released statements by jagex their policy is a catch in the act and not the lock the screen from all outsider interference and anyways there were other ways to do it... but lets not confuse this as a rant im over the rwt updates its just my concern that if they react to similar problems in similar ways then the game will end up as toon town and if it gets to that point you may have to ask yourself how bad were bots?

well death isnt runescape related and technically you can chose not to die in runescape too i choose to make a big deal about the update before hand because as long as the update isnt out yet there is hope for it to be changed very rarely does jagex change an update already in the game

A fear of the future - controversial updates
i could but those rules really dont matter much a bad enough bug is fixed by a roll back and jagex can keep fixing bugs and banning away and for customer support and forums id like to make clear now i dont want them to update most problems with rs right now are when jagex tries to create a utopia sometimes its not meant to be

they do stop spamming, you currently cannot repeatidly say things too quickly. but honestly, the things you suggest most likely will not happen. while i do agree, this game keeps getting a feeling like a childproof lighter. i think it reality, if it were back to no chat censor we would be okay. a month ago i wouldve said no way this persons a moron for writing this no i am writing it. Why? because if you look to the past it tells you your future, as long as jagex's decision making process remains the same an update like that is not only possible its likely

A fear of the future - controversial updates
This is just a theory i may be wrong i may be right Recently... As ALL of you know, Jagex has been fighting a war against bots, some people say it started with duel arena, some think it was pc (to effectively slow down the lvling speed of pures that would be gold farming) some people think it goes back to the rule updates of Jan 07 which sparked the first Real Riot in Runescape. Whatever the starting point was it doesnt matter all that does is the result... On December 10th 2007 Jagex released the biggest and most controversial update since the release of rs2. Jagex introduced the unbalanced trade rule, the blocking of covert trades (including trade by suicide and drop trading) and the removal of the wilderness, an unofficial skill of runescape much like boss monster hunting and replacing it with a simple mini game. The updates before this included the assist system, bounty hunter and tournaments, Grand exchange, grave stones, loot share, party room. Most of those updates were made to help us cope with such fundamental changed to the game but have sense proven ineffective. This however is neither a rant nor a compliment however However these updates are not my concern. As already proven no amount of complaining, people quitting, reasonable arguments, suggestions, heck even members of jagex staff probably couldn't do much to change it. So i too have accepted that another rant is no different than throwing sand on a mountain that no one cares about. Now that these updates have been installed into the fiber of the game there is nothing to do but adapt and go on. Quitting now would be silly especially if jagex promises solutions. this is not my concern my concern is the future. Comming Soon... As many of you probably have noticed the number of bots have dropped A LOT. Thats all good but their not gone yet. And the ones who remain seem more determined than ever. They are no longer cutting trees but shouting (go to *insert website here* for power lvl ups and gold)* Based on the usual jagex reaction what comes next? Jagex first strike against bots made item scamming, multiple log-in, real world trading, and most bots obsolete. But the bots still remain and their website advertising. What comes next for us? I see another update the removal of talking. (sounds crazy hah id believe anything after the wilderness was removed). The removal of talking would be a perfect decision by jagex who only cares about law and order. Its a just a feeling but i believe that is jagex next controversial move. Look for the signs... again i believe that if this happens again its going to start when they are promising a great new improvement to clan chat, specific channels for buying goods or talk about a skill or something with limited chat freedom. This has a censor that looks anything that does not fit the category which will mute you if your found guilty Slowly jagex adds more restrictions, like a max amount of words lines of text per minute to stop spamming. Or maybe they wont say that even maybe it might be to save server space for "our magnificent new updates" An even stricter censer The promise of a new skill (its common knowledge jagex holds anticipated updates till the right moment to keep as many members as possible) The conclusion... in jagex eyes that will be the substitute for talking and after that update is gone their going to tell you how much better the game is now that offensive language is gone, password scamming, jagex staff impersonation, encouraging others to break rules, advertising websites, and asking for personal details and the rest of the bots are gone. jagex knows that a lot of people will be pissed off so they have their huge promises of new updates flying around in the background whats left...? eventually if these updates continue runescape will become toon town lol who wants to play that? so if you think that these updates are coming at any time ever its your job as an rs player to keep the game fun show your feedback to jagex as much as possible! if you dont like how this sounds go on the RSOF and go to suggestion thread and find a proactive solution before we suffer more madness and ridiculous updates

Arsonists Get All the Girls
The title refers to the level 99 firemaking goal which is one of my current goals Currently I have 4.4 mil with hardly any items but ive decided that im not going to keep it that way. I am going to get it to 12 mil (enough for guthans, whip, armor and food and pots). Ive decided that instead of randomly switching between skills like I was before that I am going to return to slaying. However before I can get there, there are several goals I need to complete. - The first and most imperative is to gain a quest cape in order to achieve maximum imbalanced trade and for the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åeasiest̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

As you know the recent update has RIDICULOUS limits on ingame activities Pking has been changed into the fight pits mini game that you can lose money in. WHAT!?! Ok im not much of a pker who cares But wait staking has been removed and replaced by an equally useless mini game Ok still not a problem stakers were gambling adicts its needed to help them Grand Extange introduced with a 5% limit on price said to buy or sell Not a problem i can sell some junk and merchents were evil anyways besides... i can always sell lower than GE's price via the forums But wait? 3k limit on trade OMG!?! not only is GE the only way to sell things now but now i cant even give my friends items if they die or get hacked pfft ok i guess its right for us to be greedy stingy no friend losers but wait i cant even drop my items now that i want to quit? unless its 3k of course What the heck? Why??? How??? could jagex do something like this *(READS ARTICAL ON RS NEWS)* OVER RTW OMG!!!!! i dont give a dam about them they have never affected me! Bots? so where else do you buy 100k yew logs from i guarntee not players ok this is not a rant about bots but rather jagex decision i thought about this yesterday and thought i should wait a day to decide and after thinking about the long run of never being able to help people with quests never being able to give away items not being able to have a private drop party not have an effective way to share loot from boss monsters not have real pking anymore (this is now 1 itemer purescape pking) not being able to give someone who is dying an anti potion because i gave 3k coins out 12 minutes ago ive decided Its time to leave there are 100's of more situations where these updates will negatively affect gameplay and im not going to take it anymore rather than express my anger by shouting OMG JGex F41llss!!!! ive decided to cancel my membership The recent update clearly is not going to change so rather than waist my money on a game i hate ive decided to quit *Note before i took this pic i was on a monthly renewal and i cancelled that today*

Jagex - Launching two new games next years.
wow jagex just loves the number 2 average time played per week 22 hours average age of jagex employee 22 Jagex launching 2 new games i found that funny however this does make me sad Runescape will be around for only 5 more years before they take runescape off as their main money maker does that mean it will become like Runescape Classic Kind of a scary thought if you ask me...

~@~ How to succeed 99-skill goals in 7 easy steps ~@~
Good Good except i think you need a step 8 in there call it Dont quit - its harder to finish it later Basically if you get really burned out with a skill and quit it. Its extremely hard to start up again. For example i was going for 99 wc a few years back and i was cutting magics (REALLY BAD IDEA!) and i go EXTREMELY burned out so much that i didnt want to play at all. But even to this day its hard to wc cause of it (ill work on it again one day...) Then i got hacked and quit for 6 months strait and wasnt active for half a year after that(this part is completely unrelated)
