  1. I guess this is the result of all the mean spiritedness in the game itself. I'm a skiller who has had a fair share of insults thrown at me for no particular reason or for simply having the superior internet connection and pickaxe. Eventually, I got tired of sharing because there was no courtesy from the majority of players who I offered to share with, much less any form of gratitude. So yes, I mine all the iron I can obtain without regard for any other simply because I know that if they were in my position they would be doing the exact same thing. The only real time I probably would surrender a spot over is if someone actually remembered their "P's" and "Q's" when addressing someone who has dominance over them in that particular field. A simple "Please world hop/ mine elsewhere/ share the rocks." would be more than enough to get me to agree rather than the usual "PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!" and "OMG GO AWAY NOOB!". In summary, be nice to the nice and cruel to the cruel. If you don't like my work philosophy, then it's okay.
  2. You know...A 10 year old with a 50 year old brother is fairly likely provided there's been some weird toying with the genetic pool in a many merry inbreeding parties. That, or the gene pool of that kid's family has been way over used.
  3. Unfortunately combat level and equipment has become an indicator of social status for a good majority of Runescape's players. It's just unfortunate that the maturity of a player does not necessarily match their combat level. That's probably why I leave my friend's list empty: There aren't many people worth a damn. The only people I've probably found to be deent folk on Runescape are the Tip it folks, but unfortunately for me, most of the more mature folk I've met in game have a huge time difference between us, leaving meetings out the question. Hope you have better luck than I do.
  4. How will you supply armour and weapons for your friends come January? You won't. Please note that I stated "heavily subsidised". I do understand that the restrictions with personal trade have been limited to a max of a three thousand gold piece defecit to an individual player every fifteen minutes. Seeing that I work with Mithril (And am working towards Adamantite), I can offer my comrades three thousand gold pieces off the lowest market value according to the grand exchange for a full set (Mithril or Adamantium mostly) or subsidies can be adjusted according to individual pieces and the the type of metal used. I did say I was working for skill and not profit. Of course, that would mean I would have to stock up on a large amount of metal working resources which I am currently working on. Thanks for pointing that out anyway.
  5. Even as a level 18 free worlder who has never pked, I will miss the thrill of visiting the wilderness (Which I did often during spare time). There were many spectacular shows between the higher levels and some of the pkers (Who could not attack me) were pleasant enough to hold a conversation with me. There was always a sense of paranoia and excitement whenever I entered the wilderness for I could never be sure who was quitely shadowing my every move. Of course, the greatest thrill for me was in escaping and learning how to plan my clicks in advance to maximise my retreat from any hostile player (This was especially so around the runite rocks). I've encountered (Interestingly enough) a fair number of level 40's-60's wandering the level 40 areas of the wild in small groups who often put up a decent chase and got the adrenaline pumping (Fortunately, someone wearing a leather breastplate can run far longer and faster than anyone in metal). I'll miss those days; it was fun knowing there was an intelligent mind behind the hostile character giving chase to me (Even if they pked for fun or just for the sake of pking). Running from wraiths won't have the same effect as that.
  6. As a free worlder, I must admit I do not believe that we deserve summoning at all. Having played for two years, I have been relatively content with what I have add and anything Jagex has been willing to bestow upon us was a blessing. To be honest, I often feel indebted to members who pay for subscription fees to keep the game running and am willing to ignore any ranting against free worlders for that simple fact. Summoning probably will be a member's skill, I just look foward to seeing if this would make the game similar to Pokemon or Digimon, because that would be intriguing and somewhat amusing :XD:
  7. How many real world traders are going to actively work together for one customer? Not to mention that they would actually have to build up the combat level of the character and any poor sod of a trader that has more than one account has to level their combat level up simultaneously. That's far more time consuming than levelling up one skill (If you take into account that those characters would probably be melee combatants). It would be very ineffective and very unprofitable for a real world trader to do so.
  8. Well, fighting boots do give you a higher defense , albeit at the cost of your ranged and magic attack (-3 I do believe?), whereas leather boots provide no combat bonuses to any form of attack but has a lower defense value. Either way, both are relatively easy to replace should you lose them, so it is really up to the individual for the cosmetic appearance or the practicality for their character.
  9. I'm actually interested to see if group focused pking becomes popular, seeing as to how I am more interested in mining and smithing I feel that these skills would come in handy should I join one of these pking groups. This would mean that I can build a strong bond with a group of friends and supply them with gear for battle that is easily replaceable for a heavily subsidised cost (I focus on skilling and not earning money, so I mine and smith everything myself). Of course, this all depends on whether pking clans for bounty hunter and the dual arena become popular, that way I'll actually have a practical use and a good reason for levelling up my manafacturing skills.
  10. Well, I have not lost anything but mostly gained from the smaller presence of players in the various worlds. There are far more mining spots for me to harvest iron ore and less competition from other players. The new pking (Which focuses on groups from what I heard) will give me an opportunity to join a clan looking for a supplier of armour and weapons that can be replaced readily and easily. If anything, I stand to gain thanks to the more co-ordinated pking groups due to my focus on industry rather than combat.
