New rig for BF3
The AMD 1090T black edition does fine with ANY game on the market today. I have it, and it pwns any game I can throw at it (Combined with an nVidia GTX 470). 6 Cores don't go to waste. Did you even read about it? It can turbo 3 cores automatically up to 3.8 for gaming sessions and programs that can't use more than 2/3 cores. Intel is still an excellent choice for a gaming computer, but on a budget, AMD is great too.

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
I read that article you posted. Very interesting, and I see your point. Making choices in whatever one does can affect other decisions in things completely unrelated, even if it's subconsciously and you don't even realize it. I have personally never witnessed a direct correlation between botting and cheating on tests though (I can see where you are coming from). I knew many, many people that cheated on tests when I was in high school, and 99% of them didn't even know what RuneScape was. They are far worse things out there that outweigh the affects botting on RuneScape has on someone. Now that I am in college, the bulk of students who attend my university do not cheat, because you will get kicked out if you do. Here at BYU, we have something called the BYU Honor Code (Cheating, physical appearance, etc.). If you break it, you are no longer able to represent the school and can be kicked out. Most students take this code and apply it into their lives, even in dealings not related to the university (in my experience with other students here). If you think something is "ok to do" for a long enough time, anything that is considered morally wrong can than be construed as being "ok to do" in one's own eyes. At least for me though and my own personal experience, what I do in RuneScape stays in RuneScape. It has had no affect on my real life whatsoever, other than some chat about the game with real life friends.

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
Those articles say nothing about bots being symptoms of a society that has become more accepting of cheating. I found the "more accepting of cheating" part, but there was nothing as to how that is related to botting in RuneScape. I'm sorry, but I can't produce a study that specifically linking botting in Runescape to cheating in general (if one even exists). However, because society is more accepting of cheating in general, whether in academics or in other areas, a logical extension of that line of reasoning would say that is also why people are more likely to defend botting as justified. Exactly. No proof. And a "logical extension" is your opinion of said extension.

Is that your opinion? Or do you have facts to back up that claim?

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
You could. I doubt many people would play with that person though.

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
I seriously doubt that anyone here will ever change their opinion on the matter. It's almost pointless to try to refute other's *opinions*. I still have yet to see any hard facts showing correlation between botting and real life morals.

Yes. Interesting picture/glitch. Never happened to me before.

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
I agree with you 100%. Two things: 1) Proof? 2) How can you compare hurting people in the real world to having a computer program run laps around a pixel agility course in a game? And why do your examples of poor morality end there? Surely those poor, degenerate souls who bot must also be rapists and child molesters! I once saw a green dragon bot, and I have no doubt that he also sells speed to 14-year-old kids and cheats on his wife! Like it or not, there are most definitely aspects of this game that are so mind-numbingly boring that I would honestly say that bots are completely justified in some cases. I would probably bot agility and mining if I was guaranteed to get away with it without any repercussions. And before you say something like "BUT OBATRION, OFFIC WERK IS ALSO B0RING SO WHY NOT U B LAZY THERE 2 AND CUT CORNERS BECUZ IT IS BORING AMIRITE?!2?@@," keep in mind that, once again, you are comparing the real world to a GAME. I play Runescape to have fun, and though I wouldn't compromise my account for any reason, I do not blame people for doing it. Of course, I don't have any respect for botted skills, but that's another matter altogether. Now that I've admitted to being a sympathizer to botters, feel free to call me a moral nihilist. Also agree with you.

Cheating in Runescape and the Bigger Picture
To your first point, I see it as just the opposite. Botting and the defense of botting is just a symptom of how our morals are loosening across the board. As for your second point, I don't really know how to answer that. I suppose that you could say stupidity begets stupidity, but does that mean we should sit back and let people wallow in it? Or will you try and change them for the better? The internet allows anonymity. That alone allows people to throw their morals (that they would usually have in everyday real life while interacting with real people) out the window. Botting does NOT reflect one's true beliefs and morals in things that count. Now I'm not defending botting and don't bot myself, I'm just saying that people will be a lot more lax about "cheating" in a game, rather than in real life. It is up to each individual to "change themselves for the better." They need to have a desire to change, otherwise what I "try" to do won't have an affect. Botting definitely does hurt those that don't bot by killing prices and allowing unfair advantages for those that bot.

Just because someone bots on RuneScape doesn't mean they have no morals in things that count in real life. And I personally don't think that people are dumbing down. It's that more stupid people are breeding. In fact, I think there are more smart people than ever. More people are getting better educations.

Money making tips?
Dont you need 275 Qp's as a requirement for WGS? Dailies, Kingdom, Slayer, You have awsome stats for boss hunting, Pk, Merch, Yes you do. I know the OP doesn't have it, but it might be worth doing those quests anyway. He isn't that far off, less than a 100 QP can be done in a couple weeks. Of course, other bosses are possible with his stats, such as GWD.

Money making tips?
That is just INSANE luck. Can't rely just on clues.

Money making tips?
Dailies, MTK, and it looks like you have the skills to be able to do TD's? I hear they are pretty good money. Depending on your luck of course...

Herblore
Yeah I just realized that. I did that quest forever ago, how do I get the stews for herb? And I heard something about logging out before one minute so you keep the boost? Help on that would be appreciated. Thanks.
-
Herblore
Yeah I ended up with around 2900 of each melee extreme (3)'s. I will only put some into (4)'s as needed, so as I have extremes to use for overloads at 96 when I eventually get it. Also made about 500-750 of extreme mage and range, and enough spec restores and super anti's to last a millennia. Thanks for all the help guys! Got to my goal!
-
Herblore
Good point. 1k is plenty then. Yeah I decided on 1k. Thanks for confirming. After I got 1k feathers I wasn't going to get anymore anyway.... >.<
-
Herblore
Good idea. Thanks!
-
Herblore
K sweet. Thanks for all your help. Now to get all those freaking feathers....
-
Herblore
Alrighty thanks. Yeah, I want to try to get to 92 if I can so I can start doing effigies. So 2-3k spec restores and 1-2k super antifires ought to last me for pretty much ever?
-
Herblore
Ok so making 2k spec restores and 1k super antifires will only get me to around 85-86 from 84. Should I just make whatever grimy says to get to 88?
