Perhaps I covet Seren due only to my intense loathing for her opposite, this being of darkness and control; this entity of the most consuming conceit and encompassing ego... And because of my reverence for Guthix, who loved her.

Maybe I was doing it wrong, but since I couldn't Berserk every kill (kills too fast) I started using just thresholds every other kill; once I had a good rhythm with just thresholds I didn't bother using Berserk anymore. *For reference: Quake (def reduction, always first lol) > Hurricane > Slaughter > Assault > Blood Tendril (repeat if necessary) I'm thinking using Assault earlier might have been better.. Since we've covered most else, what can you tell me about ability order? EDIT: btw most kills were still probably 30-35 sec

Well, at least with the setup I had going (vamp+vamp with Soulsplit and help from Souls) earlier, I didn't really have trouble surviving at all (I was definitely using my melee AOEs effectively ;) ). Obviously I don't want to argue since I'm the one asking for advice, but are y'all considering Corruption Blast, the option to take an Ice Nihil (rather than Smoke=Blood Nihil), Scrimshaw of the Elements (damage vs healing of Vamp), or perhaps even Dark Magic Aura? (Which was buffed and I've seen recommended for Zilyana..) Also, if I were maging, would the buff to Dragonbreath be worth trading out Souls for Dragonrider? And finally, this is quite niche, but considering I really don't want to buy Malevolent but already have barely used Tectonic, is T90Power all that much better than Sup Void? (Which for the record I only have the melee helm "patched" anyway XD EDIT just realized I also wasn't even making use of Sacrifice lol... melee healing OP! haha

I think I will likely make Zilyana's pet self the first boss pet I really try to go for. I have little trouble fighting her (had about 580 KC at the end of 2 Fast Mode room timers or about 2 hours). She hits me hard sometimes, but I can usually heal up easily, if not from my effects then from the food they all drop. My question, however, is whether Magic (with Noxious Staff) would be better than melee (Noxious Scythe) I used for the above number. I used Superior Void, Sup Vamp Scrim/Aura, Amulet of Souls, and a Blood Nihil (for most of it, might have been more like 600 KC even, if I'd had one the entire time). I'm not sure if it would be significantly more difficult to survive in Void if I were using Sup Elements/T4 Runic Accuracy as I would with a Magic setup... I don't have Corruption Blast yet, but I feel it would be important to consider for the situation, so please tell me if this would make a major difference. There are many factors I'm considering right now... But I'd just like to hear what you all have to say before posting any more of my own concerns. :)

I had a read through the entirety of the thread, and the best I can come up with is that your original display name (which is no longer here as of the point in time I am reading this) may have been reused more recently for a very different account... This, however, begs the question as to if, or how, the official at J was attempting to 'look up' your account. Considering the time at which you would have created the account, you most certainly would have logged in using the name and not an email address as most new accounts are required to do. I am well aware that I am a [practically] Completionist, maxed player with multitudes more playtime on RuneScape than you (and far more than is healthy for anyone, of course :P) and might be prone to disillusionment as to your current feelings and position, but the game today is almost entirely different than it was when you began, and perhaps even since you took your long (5 year) break. Frankly, my best advice would be to start completely fresh, and see how the game plays out now, beginning to end(game). It is my belief that you'll discover quite a bit of value in the lowest levels of gameplay that was absent when you first started, and that reaching the point of progression you had on the account you're attempting to recover will be far easier and more rewarding now than it ever was before. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, and there is absolutely no excuse for J's poor customer support, but that's my honest opinion as to what will bring you the most value out of RuneScape.

Hydrix fix is cool, but no one even the smallest bit responsible would have ever let their precious Souls get to that low of a charge anyway ;) Bittersweet that the quest is delayed; I, as much as anyone, want it to be of the highest quality, but I also resume classes next week. I'm sure that many others do too, although I'm sure that I personally will have time to at least do the quest. Looking forward to seeing the Ranged and Magic-inspired SGS packs. Initially J had made it sound like walking animations would be sold separately, implying they'd release several at once like they did with wings, but this is an interesting twist. You already know that I'll get the Magic-inspired one should it be Moonclan related (with an appropriate floating walking anim, of course :P ). EDIT: Lol what is their idea of a bunch? Solomon swaggers in, too, to introduce a bunch of new walk animations

Lol, I did get Dragon Gauntlets off a Spiritual Mage while going to Kril for Soul Reaper. They had an 'examine' price of 100,000 even, indicating they were a 'new' item (with an artificially set value, that is). Was unexpected and a little humorous. :P

I'm aware :P I've used all of the different level 90 options for decent lengths of time at some point. I was simply saying I'd prefer Seismics for something like Slayer because I clearly remember Ancient Magick AOEs firing off frequently with dual wield's superior attack speed. (When using Revolution, it's common to fire off an autoattack, which is actually quite useful in this case. Something else I noticed was that, despite abilities essentially being used at the same speed with either option, frequently dual wield still switches to a new target quicker than 2H equivalents.) EDIT I'm satisfied with the answers I've received, so this can be marked as answered or whatever. Thanks everyone who posted, and especially SoDB :P

I've no regrettes about buying Corruption Shot! (even if I spent 65m and it's hella cheaper now :P) It hits so many things so often yet not aggro'ing them, applying Soulsplit and presumably curse debuffs and even weapon poison (PANIC BUY POISON ++ FLASKS!!) weakening everything around me and keeping them from healing outside of combat at the same time. 260+ Abyssal Demons is like, a 10 minute task... lmfao. Anything closely packed together is even easier prey. Does Corruption Blast even apply Ice Barrage's freezing with the splash damage? I'd assume so, quite incredible. I very much want to upgrade to Seismics as soon as realistically possible, considering Dragonbreath in addition to Chain and C. Blast, as well as the frequent AOE Ancients autoattacks.

Damn, nice... Still haven't gotten any of the new Slayer masks, and the double chest is gone now... :(

I'll keep that in mind. I often use sup scrimshaws for Slayer simply because I do so much ports and have a lot of bones most of the time, although I'm sure it'd be more cost effective to save bones for scrims for bosses or just outright sell them lol..

Wow, thanks y'all for all the responses! I'm going to try to respond to everyone non-specifically... I feel kinda silly, actually. See, my friend was buying up several Codexes for himself and he told me they were even less than I thought... When he had them and had been using them a bit they just sounded incredibly worthwhile! I ended up getting Corruption Shot before coming back to look at this thread :unsure: I LOVE it, I don't regret it necessarily, although I know there is plenty of gear I still need that I should have prioritized... However, now that I know WHAT to prioritize, I will be working towards that before any more "luxuries". I am trying to get the Reaper Necklace DIY; I'll have it in around a week if I continue to do Soul Reaper tasks consistently. (Something like 180 points at the moment.) I really should have been more clear about the Auras and Scrimshaws - I have access to ALL Scrimshaws, and I already have T4 Sharpshooter/Runic Accuracy, as well as Vampyrism and Dark Magic. My question regarding those was probably more along the lines of which of those choices would be truly best if I had the access I do. Interesting to hear that the accuracy Scrimshaws are worthwhile in some places too. No one commented on the Attacker's Insignia, though - it does sound like a pain in the ass to get, but I thought it might be great in a place you switch styles often? It sounds like I really should try to get that Noxious Staff soon. I did at one point have a Nox set (my own stupidity for losing most of my bank around that time, lol) and I would speed slay tasks for each style until my respective auras ran out... I do miss those days. I've been making do with Seasinger/Tetsu dual wield (or even Attuned Crystal Halberd) for anything that I couldn't range... I'm sure these won't cut it for higher level PvM anymore, though. Finally, SoDB certainly sounds like a good clan, and it seems as though many who browse these forums would already know me, or at least know of me. I will try guesting soon, although I really don't want to join then be inactive immediately afterwards, which is my only reluctance about joining just about any clan really. (My work schedule is anything but consistent, and college starts again for me soon enough... <_< ) Some days, all I can do is be on for an hour or less to do dailies and maybe a quick Reaper task.

I'd very much like to have the absolute best gear that will let me get into the most teams. I'm highly considering joining a really good clan that's already heavy on PvM and is willing to teach. I'm assuming that Magic is considered the best overall, but I'm wondering if, many things held constant, Ranged is really that much worse for most boss monsters that have no weakness? I have Ascension Crossbows at the moment. Considering that I am poorer than most probably realize on these forums, I'm trying to prioritize my upgrades :P My choices of things I can (and will eventually) upgrade: Mazcab Ability Codex (Corruption Shot, perhaps any of the others depending on answers to this thread) I feel like if I was 'specializing' with Ranged, I'd get a LOT of use out of Corruption Shot, not only for bosses but normal Slayer especially. (75m??)(EDIT: could be as low as 63m, even 60m now XD) (I want Onslaught eventually, but does it have any real use?) Sirenic Mask/Hauberk/Chaps/maybe Flarefrost Boots (43m + 60m?? lol) I'm not really very sure how much difference Sirenic makes, or whether I will need it, but I feel like I should have it. I'll have Superior Void and Death Lotus anyway. My current funds are just around 100m... lol. My Ascensions can be considered if I'm swapping for a different T90 weapon (210m?). I'm also curious about the various auras and scrimshaws I could use: (IF something is important but not listed please let me know.) Supreme Sharpshooter (T4) Vs Vampyrism Superior Cruelty Vs Ranging Scrimshaw Vs Attacker's Insignia (I don't have it, could probably get it) Supreme Runic Accuracy Vs Dark Magic (just got it today :P ) Superior Elements Vs Magic Scrimshaw I have Amulet of Souls/Deathtouch Bracelet/Ring of Death; working on a DIY Hydrix for Reaper Necklace, unless y'all think I'll need it over Amulet of Souls as an essential? However, it looks like shield use is important in some fights, even if not a dedicated tank. Well, JaGEx got $5.99 from me for that Lion Cub, lol. I hope charity sees some of that, but admittedly my intentions were 50/50 donation + pet... :P They also gave me a present which had 7 TH Keys in it, not bad overall I suppose.

Not sure who all this tip will be useful for, or if it's even as useful as I seem to think it is, but: If you're simply trying to cap temp as quickly as possible, you can use a Shark Suit on 'consume', and a Dwarven Fish Extractor on double resources to cap very quickly. The Dwarven Fish Extractor does not lose charges with these settings; I'm unsure if this is intended or not, but it's not like you gain any actual products from doing this anyway.

I want to actually learn these bosses, because I actually like having the best 'tank' gear in the game, and have ever since Torag's with DFS was as tanky as it could get lol. Back in the day, pre-max cape, I got the Fire Cape primarily FOR its BIS defence :P ... Even if def is decidedly worthless in most places... So, is there a way to help your chances towards pieces of a particular set? I'd heard something about purchasing the inferior versions, but it's unclear to me. If someone is willing to take me and teach me, I have dual ASC and most every equipment, and can use voice chat. I'd like to find a semi-permanent team if possible :D not just looking for a Comp leech ha. Message me on TIF please!

I feel quite similar in most 'dangerous' PvP (and, in the distant past, things like Jad or Kiln lmao). Imo it's pretty cool that this game can still get the blood flowing.

I know I've posted this outfit before... But I'd totally forgotten about this minigun (-like thing |^_^| )

So how exactly does Blood Neck compare now to Ammy of Souls when considering using lots of AOE attacks, such as with Nox Scythe (or similar)? Perhaps it's a difficult question to quantify with not really knowing how much better AOS was made or BN reduced... :|
