  1. I know i should, but that's party because i want people to pay attention and party because i want to avoid awkward questions about dps: higher is better(they are graphed as dps vs. def max hit). Grimy didn't get to fully say what he meant, but after his long and painful research about dungeoneering accuracy(for which we all should be grateful for) it looks as though baxe might be better, but we are still collaborating on how we can best utilize that information. And, again: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en_GB&formkey=dFl3X1JMMGw1VWVObmpSMDFWYVRlc1E6MQ#gid=0 (fill out or die!) Lol, I know what DPS is but not what def max hit is. The figures you were giving in your earlier post (for def max hit) were in the order of hundreds, whereas the scale on y-axis was hundreds of thousands :S
  2. You really should put titles and units on your axes D: Can you please explain what the numbers on the y-axis are and what 'def max hit' is? Also, how did you get your data? P.S. Why so secretive Grimy?
  3. Lol, no there are no clan chats that I'm aware of that 'fix' games. However, it's not actually that hard to get fairly decent at castle wars, I've gotten about 2200 tickets and most of the time I was antistacking (joining the weaker team) to make the game more of a challenge. Basically, if you don't enjoy playing castle wars (I mean playing capture the flag rather than randomly attacking people) then there's not much point going for the rewards. If you do decide to start playing castle wars for fun though, there are a few guides around that'll teach you the basics of how to win games.
  4. Is it only the crafting of fire rune thats an issue? Otherwise couldn't they log out and in between gds or does that waste too much time collecting your gear?
  5. Blazer/blitzer>gatherer. I imagine you have a csb bound so the extra damage you'll do when maging will be worth the upgrade cost. Also, gatherer is useful when farming (and mining prom too I imagine) so it's worth upgrading.
  6. I believe it's most efficient to get them in the order strength>attack>defence. I know you said you don't have a chaotic but I really feel I should encourage you to start and to get a rapier as it is a massive improvement over the next best choice of weapon (which I believe is the saradomin sword unless I'm forgetting something - it could also potentially be korasi's sword). As far as I'm aware, armoured zombies are the best xp/hr but you can also consider zombie monkeys (below the gorillas on ape atoll) as semi-afk training (you need to use protect from melee but if you use full prayer gear your prayer lasts for ages and still get very good xp). That said, I highly recommend slayer, it's not the fastest method but the xp you get is still good and you'll make alot more money than you would by the other methods you've mentioned. Also, make sure you always use at least super attack/strength pots while training, they're well worth it. A poisoned dragon dagger is also a good weapon for it's special attack if you don't own claws.
  7. Search through the first 4-5 pages of general guides in the archive of wisdom and read every dungeoneering related guide. As for the hex/ccs situation, I think it would be beneficial if more people bound ccs over prapier (and ALL members were strongly encouraged to get 70 rc so they can bind a surgebox) as I've noticed the slowest part of the gds tends to be the warriors. However, I've noticed quite a few people with csb that i've had to tell to mage a warrior because they were meleeing a random zombie which anyone can do. On a seperate note, I'm taking a month or so off dging due to exams irl (which is why I'm on the ban list - so I can't be tempted). In the few days I've spent dging with DGS I've been really impressed, the majority of 100+ dgers really know what they're doing and are fun to dg with. P.S. Congrats on the hex Meamzed, I think I must be a lucky charm for hexes, 3 gazers and 2 hexs before 102 dg :D
  8. Ok so basically I'm interested to know what stats you guys think are important for non-keying while dging. In my eyes, if I'm not keying then having maxed stats will slow a floor down because I'll have to keep gting to open doors for keyer. Therefore I'm interested to know what stats u guys think are important for dging but not for opening doors (if you see what I mean). So far I've come up with the following list (my levels in brackets): 84 (97)farm - lyco 75 (75)con - altar 77 (77)rc - bloods 90 (83)mining - ragers 90 (67)thieving - chests 93 (90)herblore - any pot doable with only 2 pots required (no need to nat pot to strong nat pot to surv pot) 99 (99)slayer - getting hexhunters :P Do you guys agree? Have I missed something important? Is a certain stat in the list not as important as I think it is? Also, since I have a hexhunter I'm wondering how useful it'd be to train my hunt/craft (70/83 respectively) to catch dinos faster and make better armour. All feedback is welcomed :D
  9. Depends how much money you want to throw at farming tbh. Personally I grow 5 papaya, a calquat and a spirit tree (If I got seed from MTK) at any one time. Works out at around 35k xp per day which is fairly ok for 5 mins work imo. And ya, craft bstaves while waiting for a team at dg to reduce xpwaste.
  10. Is it possible that people messing around with these codes could affect other players? For example, I was standing with a group of people who i knew were using them and every now and then, all other players would disappear for a few seconds. Another time I got a really weird zoomed in shot of my character's head. To me it seems as if what one person did with their client couldn't affect anyone else but it's happened a few times now :S
  11. This will sound stupid but the skills you need to open doors, i.e. not cooking/fletching/fishing/hunter. This isn't based on a great deal of keying experience but the skills I mentioned above tend to be needed for skill rooms rather than doors (i.e. you'd probably want to assign pondskaters/ferret rooms to another team member so you can keep keying). Hope that helped.
  12. I can probably lend claws/fury for 24h at a time, my private is normally on if im online so feel free to pm me. P.S. Congrats on 113
  13. You should ALWAYS have a personal gatestone on the floor. Therefore, whenever you teleport to your gatestone, click the 'create gatestone' spell after 'loading' appears in the top corner. This way, when you arrive you'll have a gatestone in your invent ready to drop and you won't waste any time creating one or risk leaving yourself without a gate.
  14. What do you mean by 'with proper combat mechanics'? Can you explain the best way to tank these rooms w/o armour? If you have hex, wouldn't the extra damage done by it due to the increased range attack bonus (less 0s) of sagg body be more than the damage done by a blood neck? If not, how much better is blood neck than sagg body? P.S. Thanks Obtaurian, I'll try to practice that as soon as i can :D
  15. Did my first floor with DGS today, thanks to all involved for making it fun and fast :) Is anyone able to explain to me thoroughly the best way to make range armour lossless? On that note, surely you need to spend time chopping logs to make traps and therefore it's not entirely 'lossless', or do you collect logs from drops? Also, out of interest (I don't own one) what's the best way to make use of a blood neck, just attack loads of meleers and get them to crows around you as you prot from melee in gds?
  16. Agh, wish I'd known about this update earlier, just finished a few floors i'd been using sniper for. Glad to hear they've updated it. I'm still waiting on Sagg arrows, I've decided to camp floors 36-38 for all my occults as it seems most likely I'll get trio on them seeing as only 3 bosses are available so hopefully I can start posting maxes soon :D
  17. No pots or prayer. Do c6 5:5 small furnished Sagittare floors, and definitely hunt for them immediately. EDIT: Grimy disagrees with me . . . let the witchhunt begin . . . The problem I see with that is that I don't think I'd be able to find 4 people to hunt for Sagg arrows with me =[
  18. So just post range lvl/arrows/pot/prayer and the max i hit on boss? Unfortunately I only have kata arrows bound right now, would the max with them be of interest or shall I wait 'til I get some Sagg arrows to bind? On that topic, what's the best way to get Sagg arrows? Just wait for a lucky drop from trio or is Saggitaire worth killing for them? Edit: Is it 'DGS' cc I want to go in to dg with you guys?
  19. Ok, I'll pay attention to what I'm hitting for the next few floors. Also, does (for example) t10 sniper hit it's max for 50% of ALL arrows fired, or just the ones where a 0 isn't hit? Does what you're saying about bosses mean that desperado may be better on them or is that what's being researched? Is there any way I could contribute to the research?
  20. Could you explain how the effect of the sniper ring actually works with hex? Am I correct in my assumption that the 'sniper ring effect' leads to the hit being equal to what the max of the bow would be vs a non-magic monster? If not, how does it work? If my assumption is correct, surely increasing sniper class tier would reduce overall DPS? Or is my assumption correct but the effect of hitting max (non-mage) 50% of the time is significantly better than hitting non-max (mage) all of the time? I'd appreciate it if you could explain the reasoning behind what you said about the tier of the sniper ring and the damage done too please? Sorry for so many questions, I prefer to know the reason why one thing is better than another, rather than just accepting the answer :P P.S. If you somehow know the rough increase in DPS of tier 10 sniper over, say beserker ring that'd be interesting to know too.
  21. After doing a few floors with t8 sniper equipped nonstop, I'm pretty certain that sniper ring bonus (in this case hitting my max 43% of the time) isn't happening. Unless it's hitting my max ignoring the fact that hex deals greater damage on mage creatures (i.e max w/o hex effect is 200 but with hex effect is 300 so I'm limiting 43% of my attacks to 200 which is lower than the max i'd hit w/o sniper ring). Is this the case? If this is true then could the damage i hit end up being reduced because the max (w/o hex effect) is lower than i'd hit due to hex effect? I realise what I've written may seem confusing, if you want anything clarifying please ask but I'd greatly appareciate any input you care to offer.
  22. Ok, but what did he mean when he said "Making brutes, dogs, and hobgoblins angry"? Am I supposed to attack them all and then prot melee or what? So does lossless mean w/o spending gp? As for the range armour, I'm currently 70 hunt and 83 craft, would it be worthwhile doing with the lower tier dinos (idk what else to call them) or should I wait til 90 craft/80 hunt? Also, if I do get hides, what should I make? Just body or chaps/vambs etc instead/aswell?
  23. Many thanks guys, I was under the impression it was sniper rather than desperado that didn't work with hex, thanks for clearing that up. A few more questions (mainly to Obtaurian but if others can answer that's cool): For ghost rooms, are you saying i should attack all ghosts at once? (It makes sense to me but just wanted to clarify). Could you also explain what you meant about t10 bows and making brutes etc angry? Also, what does it mean to make ranged armour 'lossless'?
  24. Just noticed this new subforum. I already posted this question in q&a but I figured I should help get this subforum up and running :D Ok I just bound hexhunter bow (I also have hood and prom2h bound) and I have loads of questions about how to use it best. Firstly, can anyone list which bosses it's better to use hex for than to melee? Can anyone list which standard monsters are better to range with hex than melee? (Stuff like ghosts/shades etc seem to be better to melee but my experience is limited). What should I have my ring set to? Desp and Zerk I assume? (Should I customise>switch to gath for skill doors?) I'm t9 in each of these classes. If I am supposed to have desp and zerk on quickswitch, should I be trying to switch between them both in each gd? Also, atm when I gt to a gd I have my hex equipped as I go (since mage creatures tend to be killed first), is this right? Also, should I bother collecting arrows or will 125 last most floors? I think that's everything, but if you have any tips for using a hex most effectively please share :D Thanks Edit: I probably should have mentioned that I rarely key.
