Money should take effort to get. And I highly doubt Jagex intended to add the ability to manipulate the prices so easily with the grand exchange, I would think it'd be more the challenge of how can they stop artificial price changes without stopping natural price changes. Price manipulating does not seem to go with the "spirit of the game". It takes a lot more effort to think things through, find the best investment opportunities, pick the right time to sell off investments, find more and repeat, than it does to find one method of skilling or killing for cash and mindlessly doing that over and over again. According to your standards, people IRL that work in skilled jobs (like people working for Jagex, funnily enough) should make a lot less money than people that just stack shelves at their local supermarket, because they aren't "working for it" and it's not as much "effort". Excuse everyone else for using the brains they have... And really, stop trying to make all merchanting, including investing, out to be the same as price manipulation, it just makes you look clueless. But its the smart thing to do. Imagine if you could take 10 dollars and nobody would ever find out it was you, I would bet that 99% of all people here would take that 10 dollers. Now with GE merchanting its sort of the same principle were nobody can ever really ban you for it because they can't actually see what your buying and you end up making money anyway. Your telling me one person can buy 1,500 guthans warspears? Thats 2.7B, and if you have that much, you dont need to be merching (not to mention its not possible to have that much money. It's possible to have over 10B Gp, you just can't hold it all in your bank/one invent. Usually buying something in The Ge That you'll never get at any price (E.g Full Third Age Melee Set around 195M I think) And putting your offers in for that, and canceling. So, your Gp just sits in that offer. Do that with all of your boxes and there you go. And no, it's almost impossible for a solo merchant to buy out an item on there own, especially with the Ge limit. you can buy 25k dragon arrows in four hours at max if that counts. some person bought 50k ddarts and brought to 1.8k ea

I once knew a clan that drove the Saradomin Sword down to 9M a year ago, sometime around the release of the GE. I believe they were 20-27m then. Of course it only lasted for a small amount of time; it happened in the early morning when the bulk of RS players were just waking up, and some idiots fell for the trick. When smarter people started arriving in the SS spot in W2 Fally, the price went back to normal almost instantly and the clan just walked off slowly. It was a small clan, but they posed as normal buyers and other members pretended to sell the sword to the other person for 9M. They communicated through a clan chat. better example is dragon darts.

Its because of people like you, who hoard/dump items, that the RS economy is in such a messed-up state. :thumbdown: this was jsut to me solo merchenting dharok's platelegs. some people classify grand exchange merchenting as price manipulation and not a good way to earn money. Clan merchenting is also out there I beg to differ, grand exchange merchenting is literally the BEST way to make money nowadays. anyways post your thoughts on it.
