Introduction While PvP worlds were released JaGeX also changed the combat formula. Now summoning does not effect PvP combat levels *unless* you have anything summoning related inside your inventory. I soon started seeing more and more pures raising their summoning level. Summoning helps them out where they need it. Now pures can go to god wars dungeon, and other places where they previously did not do too well in. I created this guide because of the new flood of people getting summoning. I could not find a decent guide on 3 fansites, and RSOF guides do not include pictures. So behold: My second guide "Saif's guide to Rock lobsters for mains and pures". Contents: I. [hide=What are Rock Lobsters and why should I kill them?]I. What are Rock Lobsters and why should I kill them? Rock Lobsters are level 127 beings that dwell within Waterbirth Island's dungeon. They have an extremely high crimson charm drop rate. As with other monsters in Waterbirth dungeon, Rock Lobsters are strongly combat triangle orientated. They use melee attacks, so they are weak to magical attacks. Since they are in a multi combat area, why not use ancient bursts or barrages? Rock Lobsters are not for "poor players." I would suggest you invest at least 5M cash into this before you start. 1K ice bursts = 1M gp so if you average 350 charms per rock lobster each charm would cost about 2,857 gp. But this is well worth the cash because you WILL make the money back by using your familiars in GWD and other places. If you want cheaper rock lobsters just go to barrows with a salamander. Watch the runes pile up 8-) I first went to Rock Lobsters because I had 24K chaos runes I would never use in my bank, all from barrows. Rock Lobsters may seem easy enough to handle... But they are extremely tough. Rock Lobsters use a melee attack that attacks at knife speed, with a max hit of 15. They have 150 hit points each... so watch out. Along with being weak to magic attacks, Rock Lobsters are also weak to crush attacks. Rock Lobsters have very decent rewards. They have one of the highest charm drop rates in the game... But instead of dropping one charm at a time, they drop two! These are also very nice magic experience.[/hide] [hide=How Do I get there?]II.How do I get there? To get to Waterbirth Island/dungeon you must get to rekella. Once at rekella you must go to the northern docks and find a man named "jarvald" Right-click Jarvald and select travel. - Pink: Path from Barbarian Outpost (Not Recommended) - Cyan: Path From Enchanted Lyre tele - Green: Path from POH - Red: Path From Camelot - Orange: This is where you can get a lunar mage to teleport you to waterbirth Island - Purple: Path to cave from Jarvald to Dungeon - Green: Jarvald takes you to waterbirth Island from rekella by boat[/hide] [hide=Requirements and recommendations]III.Required/recommended stats Requirements Stats: 70 magic 43 prayer Access to Ancient Spellbook Armor/runes/prayer potions/other necessities Recommendations Stats: 80 magic 70 prayer 60 agility 75+ hitpoints Holy Wrench - Why 80 magic? Rock Lobsters may be weak to magic attacks, they are sort of like the barrows brothers. But higher magic is a must because it makes bursting them more efficient. Anything under 75 magic and you're better off fighting them with melee - Why 70 prayer? Prayer potions restore more prayer - Why 60 agility? You will be running around A LOT while luring them... with a pretty heavy inventory - Why 75+ hitpoints? In case of emergencies. Runes for Ice burst/blood burst 2. place holders for charms 3. emergency food 4.you magic armor and proselyte armor/monks robes 5. prayer potions 6. Rune thrown axe (only need one, I have 30 because they're stackable) 7. One click teleport 8. Optional: Holy wrench make sure you carry blood runes. Blood spells are ESSENTIAL for you because they require you to not use food. If you already have 68 summoning you can bring a bunnyyip and some swallow whole scrolls so you can heal off of raw lobster drops.[/hide] [hide=Inside WaterBirth Dungeon]V. Inside Waterbirth dungeon I recommend you use this map to get to the rock lobsters. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=waterbirth_dungeon.htm Now you will need a partner to get to Rock Lobsters. You can search RSOF or go with somebody Solo'ing Dagannoth Kings. I find this part to be the hardest part of hunting rock lobsters. [hide=If you can't find a partner]try to find a team that is going to the daganoth Kings. Just tag along with them, or you can go to a populated world and have a trainer help you through the first door.[/hide] VI. Where and How to kill Rock Lobsters (Method) Remember to use this map if you need any help: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=waterbirth_dungeon.htm If you are low on hit point's don't worry... It's what you brought blood spells for :lol: [hide=Spot for mains] This is where you will first encounter rock lobsters. As you can see it can get crowded at times... so I don't reccomend killing them here. Instead you will go farther into the dungeon where there are two mroe spots with more rock lobsters and less people. The only upside to the spot above is that more people pass by it to kill Daganoth Kings... so if you die your grave is more likely to get blessed. safespot one:The Ladder safespot two:The wall Pro's of this Corridor: 1. It has two more rock lobsters that you can lure 2. Your grave is more likely to get blessed Cons of this corridor: 1. It has less safespots then the one explained later 2. You may attract a daganoth or walasaki thus damaging yourself 3. it is crowded If you do use this corridor equip your proselyte and lure five or more rock lobsters to the safspot of your choice (i prefer ladder) turn off protect from melee, equip mystic and burst away. Repeat.[/hide] Run down the corridor and eventually you will get to a large room filled with daganoths, walasakis, and Giant Rock Crabs. At the End of this room make sure you *DO NOT* go down the ladder, indtead keep going down the corridor until you reach another ladder going up a level. When you go up the ladder you will end up in another corridor with three rock lobsters. Run down this corridor and up another set of stairs. You will end up here: [hide=Spot for pures] This is the best possible spot to kill rock lobsters in All of RuneScape (for pures). equip your proselyte and turn protect from melee on. Lure five or more rock lobsters. Open the following tab to find out how to safespot in this preferred corridor. When you kill rock lobsters you don't want to use prayer the whole time. You want to stay as long as possible. To do this you must use safespots. My preffered safespot is safespot three because if you lag out a rock lobster can't respawn and kill you here \ Safespot one:The stalagmite Safespot two:The giant Rock Safespot three:The Ladder Pro's of this corridor] [hide=The Drops and My results]VII. VIII. Conclusion As you can see Rock Lobsters are where you should go if you want fast charms. They may not be cheap but they are well worth the money if you have cash. The crimson charms are amazing and the magic experience is one of the best in the game.
