LOL u can buy like 1k sets of full steel with a Santa. I remember sum1 was buying full rune for 1m. and this was when it was worth 150k. he was a lvl 3 and had 1000k in money. I remember I was like, wow he's rich. back then I was a 45 or sumthing and the most money I ever had at one point (in cold hard cash) was 80k (which I used on a rune plate).

y not believe a new skill is comming out? sure it has no point, but a new method of travel can lead to new areas and possibly new quests.

that looks pretty legit to me. but like how would the skill work? the reasoning behind his blief is actually pretty nice, wut with kudos and digsite island and w/e. but what would sailing do? save 30gp everytime you go 2 karamja? rs probably isnt going to add many new sections (like islands) to explore or something, cuz that has no real purpose. just sail to an island and then what? and how would you level it up? i laugh at the thought of thousands of people sailing abck and from port sarim to karamja all day to get exp. i mean, its a nice idea, but whats the point?

what i was saying was basically ppl who buy 99 in a skill, and like miracleman said, they stop. thats just nooby cuz then all they want is a chance at a 99 cape an not actually wanting 99 in that skill. ive asked many, "why firemaking?" and ive gotten a few different responses, most of them "because its cheap and easy and fast". that rite there says they have no regard for what that skill actually means/does. i bet if u asked them, what would u wont instead for 99, theyd say like summoning or prayer or one of the more difficult skills.

hahaha....ok...boy do i have a lot to tell....i started in 04, became member shortly after (started in march, member in like mid-late summer). for 1, whip was best weapon hands down. and it was still like 2.5-3.5m. i remember spinng flax and taking forever just to save up for one. that was fun. ranger boots were 900k. i got my first and only pair from a tt, and i sold them later cuz i needed cash 4 barrows nd wut not, since guthans was like 11.8m back then. but now rangers r 5m, and u can almost never get them from a tt....so disappointing....its a ripoff imo now. i remember when they released chaos elemental. there were so many people there. and they were like decent ppl, not noobs who would just kill people who were trying to kill the elemental. but the elemental always owned us lower lvls (i was like 70 back then, 92 now, i havent been training cb much, doing mining) but always got owned. and when dragon 2h was like 7m or sumthing like that. pk days, thats a big one, with the mage setup (before warriors guild): whip zammy prayer book full climber boots mystic bottom splitbark top warrior helm god cape glory ammy either some mystic gloves, black dhide vamps, or barrows gloves (after rfd came out) and they would always use ancients. i also remember when teleing cammy was the most widely used method for increasing mage. though now it seems obselete. i also remember when castle wars was the most popular game. now its bh, and tbh, i hate pking. i can do it, i just dont like it. omg when dds was like 60k or sumthing i dont remember. all the laggy spots around banks in w2, 6 ,9, when no g/e was around, ppl would sell stuff, like phats, pumpkins, easter eggs, drag chains, etc. lol when d legs were still 2.8m and d med was 1m. hahahahaha those were the days. imo, the g/e ruined everything. prices got messed up and they stuck, and the rarest of items dropped drastically. ive got more, but i cant remember. atom smash40 <----- my name

k well, I've been reading thus topic for some time. tbh, me and members of the clan I'm in discussed this xtensively, sometimes on a regular baisis. here is my take. Like on page one, sum1 said that if they're exp I'd barely past the 99 mark, they only got the cape to get it. bow here is my arguement in defense of that. you see low lvl skillers get 99 in firemaking, fletching, and cooking. now that pisses me off. not because I can't get it, believe me I can get 99 fm or fletch or cook pretty easily, even with my pathetic lvls. what I'm mad about is that these low lvl noobs buy their way to a 99 cape. isn't 99 supposed to be special? to show you spent time on that skill? its not about just getting a cape. but most skillers do that. they buy 99 in a skill. and that pisses me off. cuz they are only getting 99 in one of those 3 skills cuz they're easy to get. yes, I hate ppl who have any of those 3 99 capes. what I hate even more is when those are the only capes they got. cuz since anyone with 10-15m can afford to get 99 in that skill. in my mind, those skills are now nooby, because they're so easy to get. don't bs me and say the capes take time, cuz firemaking is the only one of those 3 that u have to click for each one. but thats such a stupid and easy skill. 99 in fletch or cook or fm isn't special anymore since these skillers popped up just to brag and get 99 in easy skills with their money. now, in my mind, good skills are ones u can't buy with 10-15m. skills like prayer and herb. u can't buy them with that little money. but skills that u actually have to spend time on are good, like mining and woodcutting and melée related combat skills. if u can spend so little money and get 99 in a skill, I don't think that's an achievement anymore. that's just showing ur desperate for a skil cape and will pay the lowest amount of money possible to get one. if ur gunna get 99, get it in a good skill like agility or hunter, or any skills you can't buy with the least amount of money. they're called Capes of Achievment not capes of a-cheapo. there's no honor in buying 99 in a cheap skill. but a lot of honor in spending time and real effort to get 99 in a decent skill. if u use the legit and old fashioned inefficient way, then u r a good person.
