  1. I confirm that warped tortoises and terrorbirds can be poisoned. Note that this works even with no chime. The zombies on Harmony isle are certainly not among the best in terms of drops. It is amusing to kill the underwater ones with a brine sabre, though even underwater it is much worse than a whip, and the loss of the slayer helm makes this a poor choice. Dried zombies and the armored zombies under the wildy chaos altar in lvl 10 or so wilderness are excellent choices compare to these.
  2. I concur that aberrant spectres do not require prayer. In the smoke dungeon this is especially true as they are non-aggressive there (of course you would need prayer if you choose to cannon them there). My typical gear for killing aberrants: Karil's top and skirt, infinity boots (dragon boots would be fine but I prefer the defence), mind shield or rune defender (arcane spirit shield would own), whip, god cape from the mage arena, fury, slayer helm, barrows gloves. I use ring of wealth, though a seer's ring would give more defence, and a warrior or berserker would work nicely. Note that I do NOT use the salve(e), as its bonus versus the slayer helm in my mind does not justify losing 15 defence points. Using this gear, with a slayer ring to get back to the monsters quickly, even without a bunyip, I run out of space for loot before I run out of food.
  3. I loved your old guide, and appreciate you making an attempt to update it. The chaos tunnel information is a little light, perhaps we on this thread can fill in some detail over time. Note: Warped tortoises drop rune pick, rune warhammer, and rune axe. between those and the swamp tar, noted coal, and worm crunchies, these are an amazingly profitable, mellow, and high xp rate task. Warped terrorbirds drop rune bolts, rune warhammer, and rune kite. This last drop makes it a pretty profitable run, but i agree they are not a great task, especially compared with warped tortoises. If you must slay warped terrorbirds, the first room that makes prayer not entirely necessary is the one with one tortoise in between two birds. After killing one, switch prayer off and take on the other one on one, he dies pretty fast. When he dies, the next will spawn, etc. Has anyone compared necraels and ice trolls in the chaos tunnels to elsewhere? The dagannoths in the tunnels are pretty annoying, as they all range, and the hides they drop are largely unwanted and are only good for junk trades, but last I checked, I believe the ice trolls were non-aggressive!?
  4. I will block Steel dragons for sure, much too slow even when maging. Although I would not cancel them I find hellhounds dull, terrorbirds irritating, and red dragons irritating with their dog friends. Keep in mind with 35 points = 80k in runes or more, a permanent cancel is not cheap. I love scabarites (wish you could get assigned 100), you can range them easily, and stick to ranging the lancers in the swampy plain froma safe spot, or do the crazy cannon dungeon thing. I love gargoyles. Mystic tops, granite mauls not too rarely and easy to pwn with a zammy spear on crush (I kill them as fast as lvl 133s with a whip and I am lvl 107). Plus if you forget the hammer for a sec you get extra combat xp no big deal.
  5. Black halberd also works, though slow. i like your method! But no combat experience... :~
  6. These days people are more frequently red chinning mummies in the chaos tunnels. You can get decent drops to offset some cost, and it's easier to get there (right above west edgeville).
  7. So I'm still fascinated by the cursed log thing. To summarize: You need 82 to cut but only 75 to burn. You can't fletch or bless with sacred oil to get pyre logs. They burn white, not yellow/orange. You can take them from the spirit world in a beast of burden, and can bank them, but when you try to bring them to the cavern north of the quest start, that whole region of wilderness turns them to normal logs EVEN when carried by your beast of burden. Wtf? Why would anyone try to do that? Well because the cave has firepits in it, of course! It also has graves for each of the spirit people in that town ... except for the woman NPC (I forget the name). Summer's mom has an elaborate gravestone, which makes sense since the others would have had time to bury her properly, but why do the others have graves at all if the spirit beast killed them at the same time? Maybe the woman with the missing grave buried the rest before getting knocked off? The whole thing is very mysterious.
  8. Unstrung crossbows and crossbow string CAN be brought there, and you need to run and get the drops anyway so the ava's accumulator is not much of a factor. I agree with your points about equipment hassle but if you wanted to kill 3k greaters this would end up saving time over any other location and would make for pretty efficient training. I have ranged a few hundred there and between low defence, good alcable drops and lots of crimsons, I still think this is legitimate. In the end though its your guide, and a very good one at that.
  9. Hi, greaters are actually more accessible than what you show "They are kill-able in two spots. One being the ogre city Gu'tanath, where there are blue dragons (which won't attack you), and another being Brimhaven dungeon. They come with their flaws, however. Brimhaven dungeon has wild dogs that are aggresive unless you are 127+ combat or you stay there for 15 minutes or so. The Greater demons are in a cage with no enterence, so all drops must be tele-grabbed, and they must be ranged." First off, in the Ogre Enclave, there is one Greater on the north end of the cave not in a cage. The Blue dragons can attack, but are not a concern and are spread out. The Greaters in the cage can also be hallied. The single free Greater spawns a bit slow, so crowded worlds are advised. Secondly, there are greaters in the wilderness, but the location is not great, even after the new Spirit of Summer quest ring. But thirdly, if you (or someone who can assist you) has high enough fletching and crafting, Entrana dungeon is perfect for extended Greater slaying. Bring alc runes, the best dragon leather you can sew and wear, ring of wealth or archer's ring, combat bracelet, fury/glory, 11 snakeskins for boots and bandana OR better yet 11 4-dose ranging potions. Then whether you bring unfinished broad bolts and feathers or headless arrows and broad arrow tips or even runes, bolt tips, feathers and unfinished metal bolts for enchanting your favorite mix is up to you. Bring rune cbow(u) and crossbow string or bowstring and mage shortbow(u). Note that the best cape to wear here is H.A.M. or spottier, no Ava'a accumulator allowed. Make the items anywhere on the island, and just don't talk to a Monk who will throw you off the island. For maging, ghostly robes are decent, and you can substitute wizard boots and god cape for extra mage accuracy. bring a knife and killa couple skeletons to get an axe so you can carve yourself a dramen staff for autocast. Note that this method does not allow for elemental staffs to save runes, but it is so peaceful, not to mention entertaining watching the first time questers doing lost city, that it is worth it in my opinion.
