06-Oct-2010 - The Void Stares Back
Back in the old days we actually had to walk to the location we were needed at. Everyone is in such a hurry these days and nobody has time to take a nice walk from Ice Mountain to Taverley Dungeon while smelling the fresh, clean Catherby wind blowing through Taverley.... Im starting to sound like my grandpa...

Could you do fishing for me? (You seem to work fast, haha :P) If anything, that will be my first "120" other then Dungeoneering which should hopefully be before that.

I like the elite version more in some ways and the tower shield more in some ways I have no problem with either though, I like both.

1st October, 2010: Behind the Scenes - October
I love how accurate that was to the whole discussion, yet its STILL GOING. My personal take on it now is its an argument for the sake of arguing. Its not like you loose the time you spend grinding those 200 hours of fishing from level 1 to 97 either. You do actually keep 97 fishing before, during and after the quest.

07-Oct-2010 - Postbag from the Heim + Chaos Elemental Riddles
Just in case anyone instantly thought the same as me, perhaps biblical reference, Job 1:19 goes as follows: "when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house" While this may be barking up entirely the wrong tree, it does mention sand, and red may perhaps be a desert deity. (similar to the story of Job) The mention of monkey confuses me though, especially with Mambo (the monkey god) being referenced in a different section.... Meh, it's probably wrong, but this is what discussing potential answers is all about, right? :/ Edit: Perhaps it'll revolve around the Devourer Vs Icthlarin tension once more This is my first ever post :D You might be on to something, but you might be completely off as well. :P This part however: Made me think of the desert sand blowing up towards the Desert Treasure pyramid (it has 4 sides for the diamonds.) This is probably as far off as it gets though, unless the monkey god is teaming up with Zaros. :shades:

Link to the postbag # 44: http://www.runescape...guid/postbag_44 [hide=Chaos Elemental Hints and Answers from posts on this topic.] Decrypted version: [hide=Part 1] Dreadlocks, dreadfowl, and Judge Dredd? Brilliant! So something about a Dreadnaut. (Warped Dungeoneering Boss Probably) 01-59 - The floors leading up to final floor of Daemonheim RT = Rewards Trader By adding "Sevga" to your in-game note's, you get this message: [/hide] [hide=Part 2]Missing: Solved: "And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee." From the Luminescent Icefiend's diary, the second entry is dated 1:19 and starts out with "mix in a Job". ----- "Keep man" is an acronym for "Apmeken." ----- the "wind swept in from the wilderness and smote the 4 corners". maybe the 4 corners are the 4 demi gods of the desert pantheon. We know that desert pantheon, and their followers were decimated after the god wars by zamorakian/saradomin forces. Perhaps the wind from the wilderness was Zamorak, who after returning to Gielinor offered one of his demon generals to ravage the desert.[/hide] [hide=Part 3]Missing: Solved: Day/Month/Year = 7th of October, 2009 On October 7 2009, the high level herblore potions came out. Maybe, there will be more high level potions, farming crops, and hunter traps.. http://services.rune...ons?allcat=true Back when Overloads and Extreme potions were banned from PvP worlds, there was a thread where one of the Mod's started getting ideas for a second batch of potions to replace the "loss" of removing Extremes from PvP. I remember this, because one of the suggestions by the Mod was a "death prevention potion" which I though was pretty interesting. It is quite possible this update will be the second batch of those potions they were working on. Take the first, second, or third letters of each 3-letter sequence. Decodes to: Hunter (Probably The Charm Sprite Update for October) Herblore Farming [/hide] [hide=Part 4]Missing: Solved: Coords 22.12 N 11.45 E This has been speculated to mean "Robert the Strong remembers the baxtorian falls" Robert the Strong was a dragon kin slayer, and the baxtorian falls being a dragon kin fortress. So I would say hint 4 is a reference to a WGS sequel.[/hide] [/hide]

Casting High alchemy is one of the easiest ways of multitasking though. Watch a few movies while clicking every 3 seconds with your mouse. High alchemy works so that if you click before the animation ends, it plays the next animation when the current one continues, so it doesnt require attention at all.

So basically, we are back at the starting point. All high requirements do is make high level "elite" players, feel special because they have a greater tolerance for 200 hours of boredom than most other players. Might is the keyword. I never said "YES, High level requirements will make me feel so uberly awesome!" Il let you know how I feel when it happens in 5-10 years time.

So they don't even achieve that. When you look at it, excessive requirements don't really acheive anything. I probably feel that way because having 80 magic (current highest quest requirement) doesn't feel special to me in any way. If there was any requirements for quests worth calling high leveled, I might feel different. Do *we* as in the general population of runescape, want everyone to be able to do everything with minimal "work" for it though. Should everyone be able to run all over runescape at 60 combat and most skills in the low 70's. Is it a good idea for a quest cape to be "that noob cape everyone has". Now I get it your more focused on lore then on items or rewards, I am too when it comes to quests. Thing is though, quests give people something to work towards if the requirements are higher then their current levels. My real life friends see a new quest come out and go "oh, sweet. I only need this and this level before I can do that!" It gives a motivational factor while "grinding those hours on end". Yes, 97 fishing is very extreme as a quest requirement, but the requirements have to keep going up slowly as skills get easier to train. Should 97 fishing be a requirement for the next big quest? No. Will a 97 skill ever be a quest requirement? Who knows. Maybe someday exp will be so fast, 99 skills wont be special and 120 will be the new 99 of our age. Only jagex know the answer to this.

06-Oct-2010 - The Void Stares Back
I forgot about this in my previous post, but there were a few funny little 'easter eggs' during the quest. Like when you were playing the conquest part of the quest, you would occasionally hear level up sparks from Daquarius leveling up mining when he's trying to break through the wall. :P

06-Oct-2010 - The Void Stares Back
I actually really liked the quest. :P Keep in mind Jagex have stated quest titles are based off of requirements and not the quest. I didn't bring prayer potions the first time so it took forever and my brews were getting short. Restocked and brought a few prayer potions and some spec restores and the fight was a lot easier. Liked how the boss used particle effects too. Lots of questions were answered as well towards the ending of the quest and by talking to The Valluta after the boss fight. I also found out I love the conquest minigame as long as im fighting NPC's and not players. :P Wish they had a Conquest option to face off against the void creatures. The quotes Demoli has from the quest also made me laugh during the quest. All in all I really liked it.
