I saw that video when he posted it. Unsubbed. I have no respect for botters, especially when people who bot diss people who follow the rules.

I was bored so I made this quick graph because I was curious how much better the shields soaked compared to each other. Since Elysians soak 25%, 70% of the time, I put it at an avarage of 17,5% soaking, 100% of the time. The one below is if Elysian soaked 25%, 100% of the time. Red = Base Damage Green = Divine Blue = Elysian DG Shield at 14% = Dark Gray DG Shield at 7% = Light Gray [hide] [/hide]

458 to be exact, but yeah. Not much. If you got hit a 970 by Jad, it would be 862 instead if using a farseer kite. People rarely get hit 970 in one hit though.

But they don't, and like stated they were most likely never meant to be better the SS's absorbing power. I agree, looks really retro. like they didn't have enough time to finish the icon for the button. :P

Lots of nice pictures in there. The only thing I miss from back then is the community though. And its not really bot-scape as much as it seems from the video. Really there were probably more bots before the Wilderness Update then there is now. People just automatically assume others are botting these days.

Jagex don't reply to bug reports. I've sent many bug reports in and a few even got fixed with the next update, most got fixed at a later time.

OF COURSE NOT! Why? It still wouldn't be as good as either the Ely or Divine, but it would still make the shields somewhat worth getting. It would be a lesser alternative for those who can't get either though. And....? There are so many items like that already.... I know. I wouldn't mind them being boosted to 20%. It would actually make me consider buying one. Right now, its one of the last things I plan on buying. Its the whole over 200 limit that kills the shield the most in my opinion, because it almost only makes it appeal to boss hunters/pvp'ers. No slayer monster hits loads of 200+ hits where prayer can't fix it, and rune defender would probably still win in that case because of its offensive bonuses.

I do think they should release stuff gradualy instead of releasing something great, then adding worse stuff later. I also think however that Jagex are too focused on balancing things these days, that they end up having such a little impact compared to older items that people just cba getting them. Like many things with RS2, its legacy issues. (Viewing people from different height levels but buildings not being tall enough, the most powerful items, etc)

I think its a nice idea, but might be fairly hard to implement without a possible glitch of say item duping or some other bug. I wouldn't mind though, if its possible for jagex to do, I think they should look into it. Agreed. I don't even see why they implemented something that soaks up only 1 damage (going by the old hp system), if hit a 30. Though if someone AGS specced you for a 60 while wearing the current shield (again, going by the old hp system), it would be a 54 instead. It really doesn't make that much of a difference though at the higher hits, as if the shield soaked 14% of all melee damage, instead of a 60, it would be 52. Only 2 hp different then the shield is now. For lower hits it would be better like for 25, you would soak up 3-4 damage opposed to the current ingame one where it would be almost 1. D claws on the other hand would make the soaking of the shield fairly useless atm. Doubt I'll be getting the shield anytime soon though, at least not the melee one. -- However, I like the update. The stat comparing and checking thing is nice. Also glad they are fixing the no-clicking outside the bank thing with the next update.

Wow, I want one, but the pain to get one is just as big of waste as the 85 points at soul wars for a abyssal pet. If only it wasn't so expensive... Well, its not really expensive. I got 800k exp yesterday and 600k exp today. About 140k tokens in 2 days. Not hard really. I don't get it. :P. is it that shes outside using mage when she should be in the PoH cooking lobbys? i kid i kid :D but nah i dont get it :S Made me lol. :P
