  1. are these pictures not good? or has no one of crew status seen this yet?:wall:
  2. So I decided that I would update the pictures for any quests I could and did pretty well actually! On some I give 2 different angles, in those cases pick on or the other, just whichever looks best to you guys. Fairytale part 1&2 Icthlarian's little helper Eagle's peak Biohazard garden of tranquility Penguin spies evil tree magical banking animation(Thought it might be nice...:ohnoes:) getting around guide Blazing the trail in my quest to update tipit's pictures! This is my biggest truckload yet lol.\:D/ The orb of oculus is a life saver too.
  3. On the activity guides page there is an issue with the the checkboxes allowing you to filter different activities by risk level. Knight waves is the only one listed as "safe risk" when there is no check box for that. When you check off one box of risk rating(no matter which one it is) knight waves disappears and when you re-check all the boxes it doesn't re-appear. This means to get it to show up requires a page refresh.
  4. Its true. There was a glitch once where you could drop your order pot thing in front of Gianni Jr, and get a new order for a different person. People would do this until they got one of those two people in order to get good items, after that glitch was patched the prices of scarves and goggles started to naturally rise in price again.
  5. ...Can I see the skillcape emote for admin?...
  6. I roll with the punches. I don't really care. I just make sure I can do the quests I want and gain the skills I want and play the minigames I want. Coins are just a way for me to get what I need but can't get myself.
  7. Here are some pics of penguins with a better polish. I noticed the max dimensions of the current pics were 80p so I scaled a few down to that size incase it posed an issue with the cells of the table they are in.
  8. When the update was made to the blast furnace guide about using a spirit terrorbird, someone accidentally left out a space between a couple of words, it is in the pedaling section of the guide. [Crew Edit: Fixed, thanks for finding this -TheLeonardo]
  9. in light of the recent quest I figured that I would play pest control(as many might) and found our pest control guide could go for some sprucing up. I tried replacing certain pictures already in the guide.
  10. I could figure out all those puzzles, but I could not understand that it was spelled backwards. I am a super noob.
  11. just posted to help the quiet before the swarm quest guide in the update forum. It was exciting.
  12. I have just completed the quest. I have more information, just let me get it all up first. I made a quick guide. It isn't complete as I forgot certain parts and I am not very good at explaining puzzles. Starting location:Talk to sir tiffy cashien in faldor park Reward:1 quest point 4000 attack xp 4900 strength xp "Void knight seal(8)" songs unlocked during quest: -mindful -Lortnoc Tsep(whatever that means) The void knight seal gives +1 defense in everything and gives no other bonuses or minuses. It is wearable on the necklace spot, weighs nothing and is only usable during the pest control minigame. Effect unknown
  13. After the recent tragedy where tip it was down I had to sadly use runehq. I forgot why I didn't like it. Tip it does a great job of keeping things logical and helpful while making things work well. I noticed several things that made me wish tip it was running again 1.white text on black background. This type of reading is very straining to the eyes and makes reading difficult. 2.too many ads, too many pictures. Although its awesome to have pictures, runehq had tons of huge pictures where they were not needed. This not only bogged down my computer, it made runescape run slower. Also scrolling through 5 full screenshots of a person standing 2 steps way from the last picture doesn't help me finish the quest. 3.Layout is the key. Out guides and links are done very well, I had trouble on runehq finding the right info and using it quickly. So Ifound a nifty site that lets you examine the total memory on one webpage. I did the home pages of both tip it and runehq. Total Size:120638 bytes<--tip it Total Size:545800 bytes<--runehq runehq is 4.5 times larger with no more to offer than tip it! So thanks to everyone who concerns for every aspect of the players at large.
  14. I will admit, I often cursed the tip it quest guide when it didn't say anything about needing transportation back and forth. This would greatly help out. I suppose the best way to implement this would to be as such... This was just an approximation for the cold war quest By the way. So obviously you start by talking to larry in the ardougne zoo. Then you visit relleka a couple of times to take the boat to the penguin iceberg. So there are really 4 ways to get there. Take the fairy ring to the snow hunter area, use the enchanted lyre to teleport and then walk, take amine cart to keldagrim and exit the cave, or teleport to camelot and walk. It all depends of on what a player is capable of, and just giving a location allows them to see where it is, and choose thier own means travel. Of course the trips to POH or sawmill are questionable since they are to acquire certain items. I guess sawmill could be taken out, but the POH would stay, since you (SPOILER ALERT!!!!)learn to make the penguin suit, and can't make it before the quest. I would be happy to review quests and go through the steps(on ones I have completed) and make up a plan for which ones need these(obviously sheep sheerer doesn't need this) and then make the new section, and I would also help others involved by reviewing what they made and double checking to see if they make sense.
  15. It sure does  The only idea i care about is having a hover text pop up saying the name of each icon, especially transportation icons. To elaborate, when this does happen, it would be helpful to say what the transportation mode is, and if its a fairy ring also add the code.(Like DKS) For agility obstacles I would suggest posting the required agility level to use as well. I know there are some agility shorcuts underground, but I would be happy with just the normal map. If you did only those two things, the tip it map would be better than runescape. Runescape has tons of useless features on it. Zoom isn't really nessesary at all, and the click to make glow thing is utterly pointless. Anyhow, I have desired this feature from anyone forever.
  16. Ah. Like colour! Noted. I really hate that sometimes. I would admit it as my mistake, but technically no one made a mistake.
  17. I noticed a few flaws with this guide in terms of information. The first time I paid to use the furnace I had calculated for the cost of 1250 coins per trip, when It was actually for up to 10 minutes! So I can fit in about 5 trips and make the cost insignificant per trip. It had deterred me before because I thought it was per trip. Another thing was that people most likely won't use energy potions for pedaling but instead use a spirit terrorbird. It is way better and cheaper. Introduction The Dwarven Blast Furnace is located under the factory in Keldagrim, the Dwarven city (east side of the city, northeast from the carts.) It can be used by anyone, but for players under level 60 Smithing, there is a 2500 coin fee (or 1250 gp wearing a Ring of charos(a)). This fee is well worth it because the Blast Furnace only requires half as much coal to smelt bars as a regular furnace. That means that Steel bars take only 1 Coal, Mithril 2 Coal, Adamantite 3 Coal and Runite 4 Coal. The full amount of Smithing experience points are still earned. This activity is slightly awkward without help; if you prefer not to solo it, go there with some friends, or if you don't find anyone operating the furnace, Jagex suggests World 58. Added. See post below. - Speedyshel [hide] Bicycle The fourth major station is the conveyor or pedalling station, on the north side. It has a stand that looks like a bicycle seat; just jump on and start pedalling. This consumes "run" energy, and when your "run" energy has been exhausted down to zero you will automatically jump off the bicycle. The operator must have level 30 Agility, and earns Agility experience (1-2 xp per second) while on this station. Some players like to use energy potions to extend their time on the bicycle. The bicycle moves the conveyor belt from the spot where people put ore on it into the furnace where the ore is melted into bars. 18. okay. I think I will just have to have a private PM chat with Nyo at this point. Thanks for the help. I should have a bucket load of updated pictures in the future.
  19. thanks cowman. That clears some stuff up. I just went to test out how my mac laptop and my ipod touch handle runehq compared to here. I see they use the scrolls, but I agree, they are a bit vain. I thought you would exclude it, I don't really mind that. But I will try to get some more pics for tip it. After I fixed up the fishing guide for pics, I really noticed we need some revamps. I also just found out what was going on. JPEG images are the best for file size, while my screenshots were always in PNG which is like 10 times more in data with no change in quality. But I did find out how to compress files size. So I will shoot for under 400Kb per page I try to update next time(or correct me give me some maximum, and an average size of total images per page). also please point me out exactly where the quest place is you were talking about. I would like to make a list of what quests you need updates on, I just became eligable for about 12 more quests.
  20. woah! That is great! Could you tell me how you do that? I have lots of other pictures I would like to eventually bring to tip it, and knowing how to crunch the data size would help me do that a lot.
  21. okay. My mac scales down pics well. I could do that perhaps. But here is a fixed version of the completion scroll. I had no idea such a barring restriction was in place! I just tried loading tip it on my ipod, and it runs very quickly. Even the largest pages load in under 10 seconds, that is as fast as on my laptop and PC. That rule makes me angry a little. If there is anything I can do to help improve picture I am willing. By the way this page loads really fast with all the pics on it. I think maybe, we could persuade the tip it gods to up that limit? Maybe that could be the next poll, see what types of computers people have, then what types of internet.
  22. I hate seeing outdated pictures! So I try to make my own updated version of them. Here is what I have for the "between a rock..." quest. These are some ones I think could be added Here is the actual image update itself. Also, who does the web coding? Is it paid for, or does a mod do it for free?
  23. thanks guy but I figured out the best method for me. I will share it just incase anyone wants to know This first part could be optional but I like to do things like this. 1.start in the GE. 2.take carts to keldagrim and buy all the iron, coal and mithril from the blast furnace ore seller for cheap ores 1 time daily 3.smelt and smith any mithril bars 4.buy coal and iron ore from the ge 5.smelt steel bars 6.smelt cannonballs 7.sell cannonballs for a small profit 8.gain money instead of lose it on smithing using this slower but good method to lose no money. I choose time over money ;)
  24. Good articles this time. The vanity article was really fun to read. For me it seems that those clothes and things are for sure the best around, and that if you attain them, you did so by a feat of hard work and maybe some luck. But I enjoy seeing that player with with the void armor, and knowing they played long and hard for it, or the party hat, knowing that person either had it in the beginning or they fought tooth and nail to get it. I am also happy how this has affected hunters. That side point of how hunters have incentive for impetuous impulses really shows that jagex tries to reinject playability into seemingly dead activities. While I was filing sand in zanaris, I saw tons of people warping in and out of puro-puro. This was really good to see people doing something else. I hate seeing tons of people just doing one thing, the more there are people doing a little bit of everything shows that the game is up to date and well balanced and that a new fun activity can still be beneficial. The second article is a big topic to tackle, so good job to the author. But like some mentioned before most people meele because its a one time cost in most cases. I personally would have gravitated toward ranged. I actually used up all my arrows on ducks first thing when I began runescape. So why don't more people use it? Well how many of us have started runescape as members? Yeah thats right. So that means no fletching your own bow and arrows, and with runecrafting, we can only runecraft our way until we need chaos runes and the like. So Those skills automatically become quest and boss monster skills or PKer skills. Only the rich can do them for free players. I collected every arrow i ever saw as a free player and once I had enough I trained ranged. But even then I ran out of arrows having almost a thousand. I still only have level 47 ranged because its so far behind my magic and meele, I have no use for it, I have no ammo, no items, no clothes for it really. I only have a cannon for when I want to train slayer. In terms of magic though, most people are mad at a few things. 1. I share this view. Magic is overpowered in minigames. In stealing creation and soul wars the AOE spells of ancient magic are way too much to handle. None of the others has that capacity, plus when you stun a group of 4 people to run away, it seems like that one person cheated. No other skill stuns either. Where ranged and meele have their special powers conatined via weapon, mages always have their spellbook nomatter the runes or clothes. Magic is also used mainly for teleports and skilling, stringing necklaces, alching, making molten glass, making soft clay. Its really a semi-combat skill so the price of it only makes sense. But when a PKer loses 100k of blood runes but keeps the 20k robes, people call it underpowered, when it isn't its just extremely risky. So magic is a really wild skill because it is half a skiller skill and half a combat skill. I only have 63 magic because of swan song for fishing, plus it was a good way to alch my fletching items.
