  1. Smithing hands down my favorite lol :D
  2. I find this to be very enjoyable. As you said I try to avoid giving to beggars, instead I give to people not expecting it. Often times being a level 3 skiller people trade and try to give me full iron or whatnot they are pleasantly suprised when I put up 50k or so to pay for it. Depending on my mood I've been known to give out everything from 1k to a santa hat (only did that once and now he is one of my best rs friends lol). Don't get any ideas though anyone lol remember I don't give to beggars :o You may also want to try hosting a few nice drop parties it is great fun to watch ppl scramble for rune kites and such and they are usually very thankful.
  3. you got that right... I've played over 3 years f2p and never(!) seen a level 126... I have seen S1acker when he was lvl 124, becky67 (also b4 she was level 126..) Season (#1 farmer), and mrlucky007 (#2 runecrafter) as well as various other first pagers :)
  4. 120M Not sure exact amount but somewhere around that :)
  5. If it had happened to me I would have cried since I am a lvl 3 skiller and wouldn't be able to hit anything anyway :( If I were in Durial's shoes with ice barrage at my finger tips I'd probably scare a few ppl by hitting them a few times and knocking down their hp, but I'd feel way too guilty killing an innocent bystander.
  6. wow had a really good laugh reading this guide! brand yourself as a fresh noob by walking around with green pants, tan shirt, bronze short and wooden shield
  7. i got from 70 to about 77 on gems alone (f2p) just craft diamond ammys and sell for about the same price u make them at (faster xp). also try to find a perm buyer of rings of forge to make ur job a little easier. Levels start to become a little more difficult after 77 lol so i went for a few leathers to get to 80 just to speed things up :)
  8. WOW somebody actually gets it! thanks bantam for actually reading the post, and btw love ur sig :D
  9. No you don't get penalized by Jagex for NOT reporting your friends lol. Usually I let my friends have more slack than others, I would only report if something was seriously wrong :)
  10. u want an item that wont tie up ur cash for long periods of time and yet still has a high net. So look for an item people are willing to sell cheap and others are willing to buy expensively. My suggestion would be something like mith ores, you can buy them at 300 to 350 each fairly easiely and yet ppl also buy them at 400-450 ea pretty regularly. When you get very large amounts people are willing to pay even more (500 and even 600 ea) but dont wait too long for a 500 ea buyer when there is a 400 ea buyer u can sell to now :D Hope that helps
  11. Yes I have gotten it; pretty sure it's just a way of clearing out old accounts from highscores and such. They "fear someone has stolen your pass" because you simply haven't played in a long time. :D ForsakenMage, I guess you probably know that it is jagex's fault for everyone thinking the database was stolen, they state "it has just been brought to our attention that a large unofficial fansite (NOT our site) has had their password database stolen" in their update news. :)
  12. In the bank...
  13. just think... people were willing to pay 20-30M for them when they first came out. I'm not p2p but i can tell u they are worth it if u hav the money :P
  14. phats rise fast but often not at the same time as other rares. Look for a time when phats or masks/santas are down and invest in them, sell when they have risen. I would also sell those whips to put into rares as they will not be rising.
  15. do u mean a "sell all" that would sell everything in inventory? lol that would be a little weird i must admit :? a "sell all" for a single kind of item would be nice in f2p instead of selling 10 at a time though :D
  16. I remember falling for the scam once myself right after i started merchanting. They do look slightly similar in note form but after awhile they are unmistakably different. Not a bad point though :D
  17. yea it is gettin cheaper due to more rune miners and more rune smiths :? personally i wish it would rise but i dont see that as possible lol, perhaps rune ore will drop more though which could be just as good (for me) :)
  18. I think these players wouldn't care for the idea themselves, they are probably sick of the attention that they already get and wouldn't like the additional attention of a jewel encrusted crown.
  19. Some of you may want to read the post before you say you dont get it :P And like i said im not sure i would like the idea, but it may happen anyway.
  20. This about sums it up. Prices always go up often passing their previous rise. However they often take a short time of falling backward. As primedog suggests, wait for a time when prices are "down" if you can afford to do so.
  21. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=high_alch_calc.htm Try this part of tip.it for an extensive list of high alching prices both f2p and p2p.
  22. With the current value of all rares being nothing (or in some cases a few gps) in the general store, I have often wondered what runescape would be like if this would be changed to say 1 Million gp for each rare (or perhaps another price). Of course nobody would sell for that price but it would keep most people from losing their phat, mask, santa, or other rare if they died. Just wondering your opinion; I'm not sure I would like this personally but I can see it as a possible update in the future.
  23. a good skill i agree with several others would be in top 10k. However a great to excellent skill would have to be top 1k.
  24. Afraid this is faulty reasoning. Choosing to stay level 3 has nothing to do with Jagex's ability to introduce new ways to teleport... they already have in p2p just not f2p. To clarify things: I am a level 3 pure aka "skiller". I do not wish to gain combat levels. I am aware that I choose to stay level 3. I am aware that skillers are common. :)

Uh.. smithing is just one of those skills where if you want it very high you have to dish out lotsa cash, especially in f2p. If you want an estimate it cost well over 100M to get 99 smithing in f2p (buying steel bars). I suggest working on making money first (such as through merchanting) before working on smithing. Those ideas of making and selling steel bars are great unless you want a high smithing level... From where you are, you would need to smelt close to 300k steel bars for just level 90 smithing, over 700k bars for 99.. so smelting is not really an option for high levels unless you are really patient.
