  1. all I can say is I really hope this is true. amg sailing@@
  2. yeah, yeah, finally posting. new aviators index or whatever thx
  3. hey, I discovered a bonus which applies in the edgeville furnace which I haven't seen mentioned. When smelting iron ores with a ring of forging, if the furnace effect applies and two ores are smelted it only removes one charge from the ring for both. This is kind of nice, it means that the furnace isn't just a time saver, it's a money saver as well. Very slight, but I'm hoping it'll add up
  4. super gratz, superman \ congratulations on having a gorgeous number of total xp, and don't ever train anything ever again, mmk? :shame: <3
  5. good luck! agil is awesome :) and yeah, strawberries are great. Remember to keep your hp below 20 though, so obstacles only hit 2, so you don't waste food. A bracelet of regeneration is about 200k, and I found it was really, really helpful in making trips last longer.
  6. oddly, she does look very familiar.
  7. oh this looks very, very nice. I feel unclean having runehq open in another tab, it would be absolutely great I could use tip it instead. definitely support!
  8. *strikes a match* so when are you getting 99 fm? no, really, that's pretty hawt for a month and a half  you should totally do all 50+... since you're so close anyway :P
  9. Please, allow my "dessin" to express my wish that your "web log" prosper and grow like the wholesome fruits of the earth. I hope that the strength of your shield and your talent for the overcoming of ferocious monsters continues to be augmented by the dedicated spirit of your will. In conclusion, I address to you my fondest "moins que trois", in the words of our francophone cousins.
  10. *quickly runs in to giggle at 69 slayer before you can get 70* \ oh n um er um ah well er um so er *pours some water on the bloggeh and gives it some plant food*

  14. This happened, to a lesser degree. I joined runescape right after RS2 was released, so early 2004? I spent the next four years building an account which now has over 200 quest points and is lvl 98 and was a member for two years. Not impressive, I know, but I made strong friendships and enjoyed my time. Then, in march 08, I got permanently muted. I was temporarily devastated, but I didn't want to leave the community which I had become part of. I made a new account, a level three skiller, which was something I had been wanting to try for a while. I got it members right away, and I have a total level of 750 just five months later. Many of my levels are already higher than my old main's. there are definitely some things I miss, such as the elf lands and mortiana, as well as the sheer pleasure of whipping lessers. For the most part, though, it hasn't been a comedown at all. If I lost my current account, I would start over again.
  15. I'm going to address some things that were mentioned earlier, as I feel qualified, currently approaching my 3.5k tickets mark. Anyhow. The poster above me has good sense. There is a platform directly in the middle of the arena which is bounded by darts to the west, spinning blades to the north, pillars to the east, and a low wall to the south. This platform should be your home. If you reset here after every ticket, as flsed says, it'll maximize both chance of tickets and xp. Also, once you've reset here, you should either go back and forth across the low wall to the south or the pillars to the east, depending on your level. Probably anyone with a level high enough to merit actually training in the arena won't fail pillars very often at all. (I wouldn't recommend starting until at least 45. seriously, you can handle 10 levels of the barbarian course, which you can start at 35. and it takes about 3 hours of gnome to get to 35, counting by my level screenies, which I think are accurate.) And, um. xp per ticket is actually a pretty good rate. I haven't worked it out very mathematically at all, but I do kind of pay attention. I think that, per 1k xp, you get something in the vicinity of 10 tickets. So, that's 100 xp/ticket besides the 320 (352 gloves) you get from trading in 1000. And seriously? if you don't have 1000.. don't even bother trading them in. And, in reference to tickets per hour: I consider it a bad hour if I don't get 50 tickets. You can count on at least one random every hour, and possibly more. Keep in mind that failing an obstacle is not a common occurrence for me, at 73 agility I only really fail darts. Which, by the way, I recommend trying at least if you're level 60+, but if you fail not repetitively lowering your level. so, you'll probably get fewer tickets an hour than that if you have a lower level and more if you have insane random ninja avoidance skills. Happy agilitizing everyone  PS: If you're doing barb to level 45, just go ahead and get 52 and go to the wildy. The arena is a horrible place to train and I don't endorse it at all. It's slow xp, and it's not that fun after the umpteenth time. Also, it's easy to die (especially as a lvl 3) and loose a few hours worth of tickets and xp, while the wildy guarantees that any xp that you gain is yours forever. After wildy go straight to ape atoll at level 70, it's all far more sensible than this is.
  16. this is definitely a place worthy of my post-count "virginity" : but you don't need to laugh at my paint skills
  17. This is gonna be me being picky about the guillotine. I enjoyed the prologue overall very much, and I'm wicked psyched about reading the rest of the story! However, the nice people here who have some kind of clue about the actual writing side can cover that, and I'll stick to details. You said "the wooden stand that housed guillotine." However, guillotines are stand-alone affairs, so it might be more appropriate to say "the wooden platform where the guillotine stood, instead of.." Also, the image of a guillotine which is "composed entirely of poplar boughs" suggests, to my mind, something that looks like this: Do remember that most guillotines were in the order of 15 feet (about 4-5m) high, which would might be hard to achieve with branches. You could change it to read something more like "The guillotine, constructed hastily from two whole poplar trunks, stood in the cold rain." You also might consider using pine, I know it's pretty soft. Of course, a straight pine tree is rarer than a straight hardwood tree, around here at least. And.. instead of just saying "instead of a stronger wood", you could say "instead of oak," which I think they were usually constructed of. I don't actually remember, and I'm having a hard time searching it up... wikipedia just failed me. but anyway, I think I read it was oak. Finally, "The burly man stepped away, holding the rope that would trigger the releasing mechanism. With a swift tug of the rope, the device released and the blade plummeted along guides of the machine." The rope would have held the blade up , but it would not have been releasable by a "swift tug"--once they stopped cutting the rope with a sword and getting a new rope for each execution, there was a "déclic", which was a wooden handle on the side which, when pulled, moved a rope which released a claw holding the blade at the top. Finally, "guides of the machine" doesn't quite seem to make sense, you could say "plummeted down the waxed grooves" or "flew down the greased track" or something along those lines. may I bake you a large batch of cookies with extra chocolate chips for incorporating my favorite method of violent decapitation? And some cocoa, for having bothered to read pedantic nitpicking
