  1. Some items which are underrated imo: -Broad bolts: Not a lot of players use these, but they have the same strength as adamant bolts and their price is somewhere between steel and mithril bolts. 60gp mid if i'm not wrong. Do i need to say more? -Jug of wine: costs 70gp, heals 11hp, cuts 1 attack. Ideal food for rangers during easier slayer tasks.
  2. First, i'm not flaming you, i am saying that i don't like your guide. You only gave twice your opinion, and that's far too few for a guide. Add tips, tricks, personal experiences etc. You aren't even giving a final judgement about the berserker necklace. So that's why i don't like your guide, but this is just my opinion.
  3. This is no guide, you are not explaining any tactics or any details about the berseker necklace. You just display some stats. You say that all obsidian weapons require 60 attack, but the obsidian maul requires 60 strength and no attack. I am sorry to say it, but this is quite useless.
  4. Info+screen about waterfiends added, and information about the secondary charms added. And everything was with a ring of wealth. The screens are taken after exactly killing 250 of the relevant monster, i'm for 200% sure. The dragonstone was pure luck however; i never had a dragonstone during all my black demon slayer tasks and this was my first one. The rune chains are quite common.
  5. Thanks for all the comments, i updated the screens and most of the spelling mistakes. Since english isn't my first language, i don't speak and write it fluent. You are also wondering how i got 80 summoning. I just did a lot of slayer tasks, trips to dust devils and cockroach soldiers and i did the hunt for Surok every day. No rock lobster bursting, because i can't spend 3.5 mil to get 1k crimson charms. And i'm not misleading anybody, all of the creatures in my guide are tested by me. The screens are 100% real and made by me, and i killed exactly 250 of the relevant monsters. I just showed my preferred training methods. I am going to add a 250-kill screen and info about the waterfiend tomorrow. this is directed to csa516: You are saying that when i'm making 40k off red spider eggs, i shouldn't train summoning. It has helped me a lot to get to level 30, because i was very poor (less than 10k to spend) by then. For high level players there are better options, sure, but for really poor, low-leveled players this is a good option. And despite of using that way of making money, i am 80 summoning. Explain that...
  6. 1.0: Introduction 1.1: Use of summoning 1.2: My top 3 in familiars 1.3: Which charms to get 1.4: Charm droppers 1.5: Hunt for Surok 1.6: Secondary charms 1.7: Screenshots of monster drops 1.0: introduction Hello, this is my first guide here, i will explain every aspect of summoning here as good as possible. Any criticism about this guide is welcome. Enjoy reading it! 1.1: use of summoning Summoning is one of the most underestimated skills in runescape. I have heard three points of criticism why people dont train Summoning: -It is very expensive -It is boring -It is useless. I will now counter these three arguments and explain the use of summoning. -It is very expensive. Yes, Summoning is expensive to train. Espicially at the higher levels, where you need more than 150 shards per Pouch often. You can always sell the pouches, but you will lose money anyway. But there are also amazing ways to make money from summoning. Here are two: At level 10, take a spirit spider pouch and 100 egg spawn scrolls. Summon your spider, use the egg spawn scroll 10 times and you will have around 15 red spider eggs(might me more or less). Bank the eggs and wait untill your spirit spider's special bar has been refilled. Repeat this nine times and you will have around 150 eggs. Sell them for 300gp each and you just made around 40k profit! At level 63, take a spirit cobra pouch and 100 orphidian incubation scrolls and 100 normal eggs. Summon your Cobra and use the special attack on the eggs. Than bank your Cockatrice eggs and grab more eggs. Use the special 27 times, bank and repeat this. You spend 25k on the eggs and scrolls, but you made around 70k from the cockatrice eggs. That's 45k profit! -It is boring. No, that's a real big mistake. Collecting charms might be boring, but the Summoning itself is just walking between a giant obelisk and the bank. And with Slayer tasks the collecting of charms becomes actually fun, because you train on a lot of different monsters. And you get also some slayer xp and combat xp, so that's 4 skills at once! And almost every slayer monster can drop the charms, so the collecting should go quite smooth if you do a lot of slayer tasks. -It is useless. Summoning is absolutely not useless. Familiars can help you with fights. With a Bunyip (Heals 2 hp every 15 seconds) you don't have to take food during easier slayer tasks. You can make money with the 2 ways i described above, but there are more! Most familiars help you with the training of other skills, from thieving to fishing. And, ofcourse, it is very cool to have a very big pet or familiar walking behind you! 1.2: my personal top 3 in familiars First here's my sig, so you know my stats: 3: The Bunyip. A Bunyip is a familiar that heals you 2hp every 15 seconds. That might not sound very good, but that means you are healed 8hp every minute. This is very useful, espicially at slayer tasks. With help from bunyips, i'm able to do every single slayer task witout any banking trips. It even makes me that i don't have to bring food during easier slayer tasks. So i have more inventory space for charms and good drops. At number 2: the spirit terrorbird. A spirit terrorbird is a cheap pouch(gold charm, 100gp costing secondary) that stores up to 12 items. That's very handy, for slayer tasks to bring more food, or if you are doing a quest but you cannot take all items at once. But the best is: its scroll restores energy; 50% of your agility level. So that means, if you are 50 agility, one special gives 25% of your energy back. That means that you have unlimited run energy. Very useful if you are doing a long quest. It even gives a +2 agility bonus. And at number one: The fire titan. A fire titan is just like a bunyip a healer, but not in the same way. A fire titan heals 8hp with its scroll, even above max. His scroll also raises your def lvl by 13. It looks a bit like a sara brew, although it's a bit worse in boosting hp and def. But it doesn't lower any stats and the scrolls stack. So it's very handy at gwd. But also, whem im tanking at Dust Devils, i just bring 10 fire titan pouches and 600 scrolls. By those means i can stay for hours and i can het 200+ crimsom charms per trip. And you might now be wondering: why did i choose for a fire titan and not for a moss or ice titan? Well, that's because fire titans give mage xp when they do damage, and they do a lot of damage. And because i like mage xp more than str or attk xp, i prefer the fire titan above a moss or ice titan. I hope you all go train Summoning after reading this, but the main question is: how do i train Summoning? With charms ofcourse, but the collecting of charms is the hardest part of the skill. You can do slayer tasks to get a lot of charms, but below are some common droppers of charms noted. And i'll also tell which charm is the best for fast training. 1.3: which charm is the best to train fast? Gold: Very common, but they don't give very good xp. Not the best option. Green: Pretty rare and they don't give good xp. A very bad option. Crimson: Not very rare and they give good xp. This is the best option. Blue: very rare, but they give great xp. A very bad option. Ofcourse, you should train with all the charms you collect, but if you are powerleveling you should kill monsters that drop crimson charms often. Also because there are no monsters that drop green and blue charms really often. 1.4: common droppers Gold: Jogres(lvl-52) are good, because they are easy to reach after doing The grand Tree and they drop gold charms pretty often. Ice warriors(lvl-57) drop gold charms commonly too, but they are stronger than jogres and they hit hard. So lower leveled players should bring some food. Fire giants(lvl-81) drop gold charms very commonly too, but they are strong and they live remote. At the best spot it's often crowded at peak times. These are one of the best options if you are hunting gold charms (a drop rate of about 85%). Ogres(lvl-53) are common droppers too. Giant rock crabs(lvl-137) are good droppers too, because they drop all charms in bunches of 10. They might look strong, but they hardly deal damage to you. They are very resistant to melee and range, but with magic they are easy to kill. Hellhounds(lvl-128) drop 90% of the time a gold charm. They are not as strong as they look, higher leveled players shouldn't have too much problems. They even drop lvl-3 clue scrolls pretty often. These are not my favourite however, because they drop only charms and clues. And since i don't do clues anymore, i always make losses when training on hellhounds. Green: Jellies(lvl-78) are probably the best green charm droppers in the game. But, you need 52 slayer to kill them and you should bring dragonhide armor to reduce the damage they deal. But exept for the charms, they don't drop good loot. So think twice before seriously killing these for charms. Basilisks(lvl-61) drop green charms commonly too, but not as much as the Jelly. Basilisks are not very strong, but always bring a Mirror shield! Iron dragons(lvl-189) drop them often and always in pairs, but they are strong and they live remote in the brimhaven dungeon. You are safe while ranging or maging, but they got very high def stats. Always bring an anti-dragon shield and an antifire potion. Abyssal guardians(lvl-59) are common droppers too. They are with many and they are aggressive, so watch out. They have a low accuracy, but they can hit up to 11. So bring some food. Bloodvelds(lvl-76) also have a good drop rate of green charms, but they don't have good drops. They live in the Canifs Slayer tower. Turoths(range in lvl from 83-89) are not bad, but they also drop other charms commonly too. They have nice loot however, including nature runes, mystic robe bottoms and high lvl herbs and seeds. They can even drop a Leaf-bladed sword. Crimson: Waterfiends(lvl-115) are amazing droppers, they drop a lot of crimson charms, and a nice amount of noted snape grass, noted water orbs and mithril arrows. They have high defence and they attack with mage and range, so don't go witout good preperation. Cockroach soldiers(lvl-83) are good crimson charm droppers too. If you need Crimson charms, these are a very good option, because they live near a bank, are not aggressive and there are no other creatures that attack you. They live in the stronghold of player safety. Greater demons(lvl-92) are decent droppers too, but they live remote and drop less crimson charms than cockroach soldiers. If you want to kill these anyway, they live in the brimhaven dungeon or in deep level wilderness. Dust Devils(lvl-93) are easy to kill and have an quite good drop rate of crimson charms, not better than Cockroach Soldiers, but still good. And: they even might drop the legendary Dragon Chainbody! Black demons(lvl-172) are very good too, but they are pretty strong. They can be safespotted, so they are a very good option for rangers and mages. Beware: always kill these in the Chaos Tunnels! I don't know why, but in the Chaos Tunnels they drop way more loot and charms than in Taverley dungeon. Blue: No really common droppers. Sorry! I let you know it if i found a really common dropper. Here are the best droppers anyway, none of then all are really good (with 'good' i mean more than 30% of the times a blue charm), but these are the best anyway: Abberant Spectres(lvl-96) have the best drop rate of the monsters i tried, but they are a pain to kill. They attack with strong magic, so wear dragonhide armor or bring prayer pots and use protect from magic. Kalphite Soldiers(lvl-85) are not bad too, but they are also very hard to kill. They poison you if they deal damage, and they hit accurate. But, with a cannon, you can kill lots of them and you only have to pick up the valuables and the charms. Beware: these 2 creatures are NO good droppers in my opinion, they have a drop rate of about 3%, which means one blue charm every 30 kills. But they are the best droppers in the game, so i have added them into my guide anyway. If you are totally dissapointed of the rarity of blue charms and you would just click this guide away, read the next part of the guide first. 1.5:The Hunt for Surok A great way to get some Blue Charms anyway, is the not too well-known miniquest 'The hunt for Surok'. This is a run through the Chaos Tunnels and a big fight at the end. You can do this every day. If you kill Bork(the boss at the end), you will get 5 blue, 7 crimson and 2 gold Charms. There is a guide on this site, so i'm not going to explain how it works, but it's the best and the fastest way to get blue charms. It's a pretty tough minigame, but if you do it for 1 month every day, you got 210 crimson, 150 blue and 60 green Charms. And it only takes 10 mins a day! Pretty cool, eh? 1.6: Secondary charms There are a total of 11 different charms, and i named four of them above. But there are seven other charms, which are used as secondaries, these are the Obsidian charm, the Abyssal charm, the Talon beast charm, the void Ravager charm, the void Torcher charm, the void Spinner charm, and the void Shifter charm. These charms do not stack like the four normal charms. Below i'll list the secondary charms. -The obsidian charm. The obsidian charm is dropped by all inhabitants of Tzhaar, although tzhaar-hur and tzhaar-mej drop 1 obsidian charm at time, and tzhaar-ket and tzhaar-xil drop 2. You shouldn't have too much troubles obtaining obsidian charms, because all tzhaar creatures live near a bank and tzhaar-ket and tzhaar-hur can be safespotted with range, magic or a halberd. -The abyssal charm. The abyssal charm is dropped by abyssal walkers, abyssal guardians and abyssal leeches. The abyssal walkers drop 2 a time, while the abyssal guardians and the abyssal leeches drop only 1. They all live in the abbys, which is a multicombat area, and the abyssal guardians and the abyssal walkers are agressive. You should find a place where are not too much abyssal walkers and abyssal guardians. They drop abyssal charms really commonly, so you should have a full inventory pretty fast. You can't store the abyssal charms on a familiar. The nearest bank is in edgeville, so you should bring a amulet of glory to bank and from edgeville you can return immediately. You can expect pretty many green charms too. -The ravager, spinner, shifter and the torcher charm. You can get all these charms at the same way: you can swap them for 2 pest points. Personally i don't like the charms. The void pouches aren't very useful, and you would expect them to be useful because they require a void charm and a blue charm (ravager requires a green charm however), but they are not very useful. They even give less xp when infused (at lvl 34, a blue charm should give around 300xp. Infusing any void pouch gives only 60xp). So my opinion about void charms is: a huge waste of points, blue charms and xp. A void ravager gives normal xp however comparated to it's lvl, but it's still a waste of pest points. -And last: the talon beast charm. The talon beast charm is a very useful charm, because infusing it with a crimson charm and 174 shards gives a whopping 1015 xp! That's the most xp for one pouch. But as you might already have been guessing: the talon beast charm is rare. You can't just get them as a monster drop, because they are only dropped by nail beasts, during the temple trekking minigame. And unfortunately the nail beast event is pretty rare. I did temple trekking for 2 hours; always doing the easiest route with the weakest traveller. And i only got 30 talon beast charms in those 2 hours. So talon beast pouches are not suitable for powerleveling, but the temple trekking minigame is pretty fun. So if you are bored, you could do some temple trekking and try to get some talon beast charms. You are almost guaranteed to make some profit, but for the fastests talon beast charms you should do the easiest event and the weakest traveller, because during the easiest route you can evade every event, and bringing the weakest traveller makes you always getting 5 nail beasts in the nail beasts random event. And since the talon beast charm is a 100% drop from any nail beast, you should always do the easiest route with the weakest traveller. 1.7: Screenshots of drop lists. Here are screenshots of my inventory after i killed 250 of some of the monsters i mentioned in this guide. I thought it could be usefull if you get an idea of the drops of a monster. I am not going to do every monster i mentioned here, because that would take too long. I always have worn a ring of wealth. Cockroach soldier: As you can see, a Cockroach soldier has a crimson charm drop rate of about 35-40%, and they drop nice other loot too. I had the earth, fire and air runes in my inv before i went to them, but they dropped al those laws you see. The seeds are ranarr and kwuarm. I sold this loot for about 400k gp. Dust Devils The Dust Devil has a crimson charm drop rate of about 25-30%, that is not as good as the Cockroach soldier. It also has worse loot, but they are easier to kill. I had the nature runes in my inv before i started the trip. The alchs are 4 earth battlestaves and 4 red dhide vambs. Jogres No, this is not bad. The loot is worth around 70k, that's not much compared to the monsters pictures above. But jogres are very weak, and they attack with battleaxe speed. So each lvl 60+ player with full rune can handle them easily with some food. When i was a lvl 60 full runer, i made lots of trips like these for cash and charms. It maght be bad for a high lvl player, but for lower players which aren't rich this is one of the best options. The seeds are ranarr and kwuarm. The gold charm percentage is 30-35%. Turoths The Turoth has a pretty bad drop rate of charms, compared to the monsters above (a green charm drop rate of 15-20%), but the loot is great. A Leaf-bladed sword and a mystic robe bottom during one trip is uncommon, however. But despite the bad charm rate, this is still a good choice, because of the great loot. The seeds are 2x snapdragon, 1x dwarf weed and 4x kwuarm. The herbs are all ranarr. I sold this loot for 310k. Black demons As you can see, the black demon is a really nice crimson charm dropper, about 45%. The other loot is nice too, i sold this for 320k gp. They, however, have more than 150 hp, so when killing dust devils you might get more charms/hour. Still, this is a good option. Beware: always kill them in the chaos tunnels if you want charms. Do not go to any other dungeon, you won't get much charms and loot there. Little sidenote: i actually have gained a fifth rune chainbody, but when i would pick it up, i got a mime random event. And i messed up with glass box and glass wall, so when i returned the rune chain was gone. Grrr, stupid events... Waterfiends Sidenote: I didn't took this screen after killing 250 waterfiends, but after 117. I had just finished the 117'th waterfiend and i attacked the 118'th, but he didn't go into into the safespot and attacked me. I ran for him, because i had only 65hp left and i had no more food. but i ran just in the claws of a brutal green dragon! Before i could equip my shield, he hitted 44 on me :o I equipped my shield as fast as i could, he used a few more dragonbreaths and i realised i was out of food, so i teled. I don't have the courage yet to enter the cavern again, but i do have the screen with the loot after 117 kills. Now about waterfiends: what i'm saying of the screen isn't right. From all creatures i have killed, waterfiends have the best charm drop rate i've ever seen (Bork doesn't count ;) ), about 75%. But they are not the best, i have heard that rock lobsters and skeletal wyverns are better. Waterfiends got really high def stats and they are only really vulnerable to crush attacks. I am 94 ranging and i had about +140 in range attack when i was there, but i still hitted a lot of 0s. Despite of their range and mage attacks, they can be safespotted, but not with a halberd. Jellies I thought Jellies were better. Okay, they have a better green charm drop rate than Turoths (25-30%), but the loot is far worse. And as all experienced summoners know, money is very important when training summoning. You could have thousands of charms, but witout some cash you can't infuse them. So my advice is: do not kill these for charms, or you should have so much money that a few hunderd k doesn't bother you. I hope i helped you all with training Summoning, and train it, because it is usefull and cool! More of the guide is coming.
