  1. Being a high level does not give you the right to insult people. You think you're that great just because you have a lot of lvls and money? You're wrong. high lvl people do not deserve respect, only their actions do. And im not referring to you as a noob. Another point against you. Making a lot of assumptions. And how do you know quelmotz is my main/highest lvled/most experienced account? I can assume that you gave fake stats using computer photo editing of your sig.

  5. i didnt say rune is worthless, noob. You have to take damn long in f2p to get to that lvl. P2p noobs, go train using f2p areas and stuff from lvl 1 mining to 85 and see. itll take years if you play 1/2 h per day. I like mining but it is just too boring and slow compared to wcing and fishing. wcing you can get almost an inventory of logs from a tree and fishing even about 1+ inventory of fish from a spot before it moves. that's classic, noob, now its RS2. So shut up, you're the one talking bs. P.S. im not the author noobs so dont say i am. Ha. You can almost use that argument for anything. Observe. WCing is boring like hell. REASON:you sit there and fight others for logs, thereby only getting a couple of logs. FULL STOP. PERIOD. Fishing is boring like hell. REASON:you have to wait FOREVER to get fish!!! FULL STOP. PERIOD. Cooking is boring like hell. REASON:you take your raw meat and cook it, with a somewhat large percentage of burning it. FULL STOP. PERIOD. Smithing is boring like hell. REASON:you have to wait for your character to create the bars and armor, and when you do...FULL STOP. PERIOD. Thieving is boring like hell. REASON:only one item per pickpocket, and you might get caught! FULL STOP. PERIOD. Prayer is boring like hell. REASON:only one set of bones are buried per one click. FULL ST--Oh wait, in this case EMPTY STOP, REFILL. PERIOD. Kinda a dumb argument. The point is that you have to work, no matter what skill you do, and each one will become tedious and boring. It's just up to the player to overcome the boredom and try to outlast it. Fishing Wcing aren't easy, in terms of money making. Fishing takes forever to catch one fish [at times], and Wcing is always competition unless you are at the level at Magic Logs, which is barely competition. What? You sold your gold, then bought tin and copper and made money. In your case, Smithing was profitable because you gathered the materials yourself, you didn't spend any money... #-o I love to mine. It always relaxes me, and I meet a lot of new people when I'm mining, have nice conversations...Its very interesting to say the least. :D thats the people you talk to that are interesting, not the mining itself. i met a lot of rude noobs while mining...so mining=boring? you dont take forever to get fish/logs, it is very fast. And cooking/smithing were supposed to be boring skills just to flaunt the amount of money you put in to get the skillcape. Mining is at the same lvl as wcing and fishing, so i dont see why mining only has one ore per rock. P.S. dont tell me runite ore sells for .... price, it takes to long to get to that lvl.
  6. i agree. right now the combat triangle in f2p is something like Melee>mage though if the players use good strategy, they can warp it of course. Melee is too powerful in armored fights because the ranger cant stand so much damage and the ranger also has to strike by surprise.

  8. I think this is a quite good idea that will balance out the unfairness of mage and range in pvp. However, for the towers, adding your RANGED damage and accuracy whereas only adding your mage max hit is seriously unfair. Or maybe i misinterpreted you, maybe what you meant for "range" is how far you can hit and accuracy is for both "classes"? max hit is not damage, its how high your damage can hit, but not the damage directly.
  9. So what if f2p mage has teleblock? it requires 85 mage for goodness's sake. Range isnt too underpowered but it should still get a boost. Mage is far and by underpowered in f2p and still underpowered in p2p, though not as much. (compfreak will surely have quite a lot of cutting remarks about this) :roll: F2p mage maxes out as 16 damage... As someone already said, range can hit constant 18s if LUCKY which is far above what fire blast hits..about 10s-13s usually. Without range or mage protect prayers. High lvl meleers can hit quite high also. Ok so mage is powerful at low levels but how many low levels have enough money for the extravagant price of effective mage pking??? VERY VERY VERY few, after factoring in the costs to even train mage to that lvl. Cost does matter in pking/training or whatever.
  10. Mages suck too much at present and they DESERVE an update. They haven't had one for a few years. Dont say rc guild, thats not mage. fog is also for melee and ranged.
  11. Range isn't overpowered in F2p, its just the pures in bounty hunter. dont take a small fraction of the problem and use it as if it range only revolved around pures. Im saying range as a whole. And how come you idiots assume im talking about pvp. its part of combat, but you can also fight with monsters. And how come ranged does not have yew bows and rune arrows?? no answer. And the idiots who think they are so good like the guy who said yew arrows and the other one get lost and make your own dumb thread. Mage is underpowered in F2p and you also have to spend like tens of thousands of gp just for like 15 min of pking. And its still not effective. Bind is just pathetic. Teleblock requires very high mage. AND mage is not a support skill, BTW. When jagex updated RSC to the present rs, they said they wanted to make mage not a support skill. Like real. And what kind of crappy robes do mage have? The rc robes need 50 runecrafting and that is hard to get in f2p. Fog robes degrade and cost an absurd amount of tokens to recharge and buy. Combat robes cost 1000+ tokens. Youll need to play for like 2 weeks 1h per day to earn that if you're good in fog. And it is very hard to earn money in f2p even with maxed out resource gathering skills.
  12. Crushing and stabbing weps are almost never used except for specials but specials are NOT the weapon's stats and usefulness, just an add on to the wep. Some weapons are only used for specials and are not really USEFUL in fighting after the specials are used up, e.g. ddp++, dragon claws, etc. Absurdly overpowered specials. :roll: pures are already outdated. nowadays people can just smash em up without losing much hp because of their extremely low defence and the new very powerful weps, e.g. GS.
  13. My rant is about F2P mage and range being underpowered. IMPORTANT:Before you noobs start saying "shut up you (insert curse word here), F2P doesn't pay so they don't get updates!", i know the f2p doesn't pay but look at the amount of weps and armor melee has! COMPARISON: Melee has 10 types of weapons (dagger, scimitar, longsword, shortsword, battleaxe, 2h sword, mace, hatchet, pickaxe and warhammer.) Ok so pickaxe and hatchet suck but they still have 8 weps. Mace, warhammer, dagger, shortsword and longsword are quite useless but they still count as weps, dont they? Melee has very good armor, all the way from lvl 1 (2 types..omg), lvl 5, lvl 10, lvl 20, lvl 30, lvl 40, and even corrupted dragon armor. WTH Important notice:ranged is weaker in lower levels only. When you get higher, it becomes much more powerful. Ranged has 3 types of weapons (shortbow, longbow and crossbow(only normal what the hell is the use of it?) Furthermore, the longbow stinks. Its damn slow. Ranged only has some crappy leather armor and studded leather armor and green dhide. The leather and studded leather are extremely lousy and the only substantial one is green dhide. Why isnt there "corrupted blue/red dhide"?? Mage has a GRAND TOTAL of 1 type of weapon...even for members...(staff obviously) Don't let me get started on mage armor... they don't even have proper pants...WTF. The max mage bonus you can get is like +30.. when range is like +60 or something and melee is +70 or something... NOOB:"Give some solutions, noob!! Stop talking about the problem!!" LOL... OK down to the solutions. Melee should be nerfed? That isn't a real solution to the problem since its mage and range thats underpowered. NEW types of ranged weps: Range should be given a few crossbows, maybe up to mith? Maybe javelins/some other throwing weps? Maybe there should be some "in between" ranged armor, something like snakeskin, crocodile skin, etc just to fill in the gaps. Mage should get some new robes, maybe dark wizard robes, new kind of robes like "sorcerer's robes, arcanist's robes?" And definitely wizard robe bottoms. A kind of table: -Blue wizard robes lvl 1 -Dark wizard robes lvl 10 -Magical Robes lvl 20 -Sorcerer's robes lvl 30 -Arcanist's robes lvl 40 Ok i know there are armor like splitbark and mystic that have the same mage lvl req as these but these should be weaker than them since they are f2p. Maybe they should have variations of their weapons, like normal staff, oak staff, willow staff, maple staff, yew staff, etc. Maybe f2p mages should also have wands. Wands are fast weapons but are weaker compared to staffs. Maybe a new kind of wep: orbs? Orbs can be 2h or 1h. 1h orbs should be a mix of staff and wands. The 2h kind should be much more powerful but quite slow and heavy. If you want to give criticism, try and make it constructive and don't flame/spam.
  14. dual weapons could work, but it probably needs some tweaking. Maybe the 2nd wep only does 1.5 times damage (for shield is defence of 1.5x) and they attack at 1.5 times the speed(NA for shield) not two times. after all, you have to be concentrate more to use two weapons fast. There would probably only be one spec bar AND powerful weps like whips cannot to be dualed. Also scims and some crap like that should be nerfed or else they would be far too powerful. 2h weps also have to be upgraded to keep up with the dual weps. EDIT: i thought of a new idea for dexterity. It would affect the dodge chance you have, replacing defence. The new defence would be your "Dmg resistance". RIght now, strength has no counter so it would balance it out.
  15. ever heard of a rusher? mmmhmm, didn't think so. Obviously i did BUT no one's forcing meleers/rangers to rush, whereas mages need to. Think before you speak. I appreciate constructive criticism(unlike the one above), so thats not flaming me. But it isnt really like 3 spellbooks merged together is it? its more powerful and i dont see any lunar-ish spell unless you think lunar blitz is one. Destiny bond sounds sort of like vengeance but it's not the same.

Speed of doing something is actually a factor that reduces boredom, and that is why wcing and fishing actually seem easier to train(in fact they ARE easier to train). I used to mine gold for a bit of cash in f2p but it became to boring, so i just took out the cash i earned from mining gold and bought a huge bunch of iron and coal ore and smith. Smithing to earn money...FASTER than mining?!?!?!?!?!? Smithing was supposed to be a money wasting skill...WHAT THE HELL...
  17. Alright, come find me ingame, I'll bring plate armor, you bring a slash weapon and a crush weapon that are relatively equal and we'll see. Or you could be the one to bring armor, it doesn't matter as long as it gets done. How do you know your stats are same as mine? combat lvls do make a difference. RELATIVELY EQUAL DOESN'T mean equal. and im saying that crushing and stabbing weps (e.g. rune dagger/rune warhammer) should be better than slashing weps of their lvl(rune scim) when attacking the kind of armor that they are good at(chain for stab and crush for plate). The point is, there is no crush/stab/slash wep that are absolutely equal because weps were made to be different, but equal in power. Alright, come find me ingame, I'll bring plate armor, you bring a slash weapon and a crush weapon that are relatively equal and we'll see. Or you could be the one to bring armor, it doesn't matter as long as it gets done. Come find me in game. I'll bring whip + defender, you bring crushing\stabbing weapon of your choice. Whip+defender is like the most overpowered slash weapon combo ever. So the whip has to be nerfed but i don't care about the defender.
  18. HA HA. there is so small a difference between the different attack styles that there's no point being crush weps.
  19. if mages must use surprise attacks to hit high, why don't meleers need to? Maybe these spells will have slightly higher splash rate than their same lvled counterparts, so as to balance them a bit. But remember, the quest required to get this spellbook will be very tough, so these spells should be better than their same lvled counterparts.
  20. HA HA. He probably specced four times with his dds and a smashed him up with a quick last strike of his drag scimmy (as if 4 special attacks doing like 210% damage wasn't enough). he wouldn't need a mace or baxe at ALL.

  22. REASON WHY THE WHIP IS STILL OVERPOWERED: Simple. one handed. twohanded. Maces suck at almost anything, unless you're talking about the d mace, which i think has a quite decent special or something. other than that, they are useless, utterly, totally useless.

L]13, you forgot that what i stated there was the MAX hit, and jagex clearly stated in the manual for combat, magic section that higher lvl spells splash more often, but your splash rate decreases if you have higher mage. Therefore i don't see how the mage can smash up the meleer so easily. Still, i'll decrease the max hit slightly, come to think of it, it is sort of high. but ill add a spec for that staff
  24. will you two shut up about using whips in what situations and what situations is whip not good in. This thread isn't a thread for spamming about the whip's usefulness. It is about upgrading stab/crush weapons. and btw, a local guy, crushing and stabbing weps are almost obsolete except for the said examples above, so they are not at all useful. I would like to ask you if you ever saw someone with a mace/warhammer in clan wars. No, i bet, unless they were nooby lvl 50s or something. In my whole rs life, ive never saw a person use a mace.(except once when i was trying it on just for fun) Warhammers are more common, but it is still a rare sight. Lep1423, a speed difference of 2 bars makes a VERY large difference in pvp, in case you didn't know. being more accurate by 8 points isn't going to help the warhammer much. BTW how did you get the "chance of hitting" of the weapons. compfreak, i don't know what the hell are you talking about one weapon always being the best. As i already EMPHASISED a lot in my post a bit earlier(page 4), two weapons that have the same lvl requirement, but with the same amount of points in different stats, e.g. attack stab, defence stab, strength, etc would be fair in power/usefulness, but not exactly the same. So if there would be a new weapon that has the same amount of points in the stats as the whip, but added to different things(other than prayer maybe, since points added to prayer are rare), it would give a lot of competition to the whip as long Jagex isn't stupid enough to make it very very hard to obtain, e.g. need a grandmaster quest, cost 100m, etc. Obviously the starting price would go up very high at first, but as soon as things cool down, the price would be about the same as the whip.
  25. IMO i think it isnt very good since it has no "history" and also not much reason why RS needs it. I mean jagex wouldn't just make ores for fun. What i think is needed is to lower the lvls needed to mine the ores to:(smithing would be the same, but the lvl there will be the lvl needed to smith daggers. e.g. 1 smithing= can smith bronze dagger. 2 smithing=axe, 3 smithing=mace, etc.) Maybe there should be a new kind of smithing using granite stuff. meaning there'll be granite dagger, etc. maybe all kinds of smithing will have a maul? tin/copper:1 iron:15 Coal:25 mithril:40 adamant:55 Rune:70 Granite: 85 Dragon:99
