  1. It will probably not be released so fast. The magic shortbow spec had to be nerfed because it is identical to the ddp++ spec so they changed it. Nerfing specials aren't really nerfs as they don't lower the weapon's power, only its addon, as i already mentioned in a large chunk of info earlier on.
  2. If you want to talk about p2p, go make your own thread.
  3. You don't understand economy at all. Ok lets use your rune ore example. Lets say that you can get 1/2 ore per rock, so the price will be 1.5 times not two times. And you're assuming too many things. I admit, the ore prices will plummet very fast at first, but it will pick up again when more smithers join the crowd of people buying ore as the price is lower. And also, you can look at woodcutting-why are there so many logs per tree but yew logs still cost 400+, about 1.5 times the cost of mithril ore when they require similar lvl of stats??? It will balance out. The competition for mining means lesser ores can be gotten, increasing the price because more time will be wasted changing worlds, arguing, etc. P.S. just a question, why is copper ore almost twice as expensive as tin even though they are as easy to mine?
  4. Do you have any idea what 1.5 times damage means? Strength has no balance? It's called defence. And dodging attacks is not a new idea, let me tell you that. That's what defence does, blocks attacks. On topic... These ideas don't make a whole lot of sense... Why does theiving give you two weapons, or more arrows shot, or fletching without knives? Theives don't fight, and they don't have... b]knifehands[/b]... Though dual weilding could work... But there's absolutely no need for it. Made a mistake-should be 75% damage each. STRENGTH is how high you hit for god's sake. attack is how accurate you are. defence lowers opponent's accuracy when they hit you I dont see what lowers strength. There is a need for dual wielding(btw its wielding not weilding), it allows fast attacks but at lower damage and sacrifice of defence. Also, if you dual wield, there would be no special attacks allowed(8 ddp++ specs?).
  5. You think your spellbook is so good you can insult people by saying their attempts are failed?? BTW, of the 28 combat spells, many are repeated like rattle. And most of those will only be used by people using melee/ranged and want to weaken or annoy their opponents. Seriously-28 combat spells? Most of them can also be used by melee and ranged to make them far more powerful than mages. Any high lvl who has done a lot of quests will find the quest a piece of cake so they can use the spellbook for themselves to help their melee and ranged attacks. All those prayer recharging, shielding etc. can help melee/ranged. How many high lvls don't have 60-70 mage or above?? Unless they are pures, they will almost surely have it. Think before you speak. And the pulse spells will make the member's wave spells obsolete.
  6. Why should I use a weapon that is overpowered?? For god's sake godsword isn't extremely overpowered. IT costs millions and has less damage per second than whip+defender. Whip+defender has the highest dps for all weapons. It is proven. Tell jagex to nerf the whip then. I bet you they will never ever do it. Has jagex ever nerfed a weapon/armor before? They will never do that since they strive to please customers as much as possible unless something is getting really out of hand.
  7. Annoy them more. Put on your best armor, drink def pots, on prayer, eat food like hell. Irritate them back the way they irritated you.
  8. Can you edit your post? its too messy for me to read and pls quote properly... Why would miners get screwed if rune ore prices drop? The ores price will drop, but you can get more ore in lesser time. Don't you understand supply and demand? What I'm suggesting is that the mining system become more like wcing, not exactly identical. There should be more than one ore per rock judging by their extremely long respawn rate(except for iron, tin and copper, which have to get a slightly longer respawn rate or no multiple ores for them), people should be able to harvest more than one ore per rock. Im not saying you can earn like 15+ rune ores from one rune rock, just 1/2 ores. As the rocks get higher leveled, the less ore you can get(i don't see this in woodcutting though). Maybe tin, copper and iron have only one ore per rock, but subsequently the rocks should have more than one. For coal, maybe 1/2/3/4/5/6, gold 1/2/3/4, mithril 1/2/3/4, adamant 1/2/3 ores per rock.
  9. You're getting off topic. We're talking about f2p here. I don't see how f2p can hit 50s or 57s or use piety or go to GWD either.
  10. Too much like lunar spellbook. Most spells only meant to help other skills.
  11. Why shouldn't there be better versions of what we have? And black hole doesn't bind for 43 seconds for goodness's sake. And i don't know what the hell you mean by "lol" If you have a better idea, post away- im going to criticise it like hell.
  12. So how do you want jagex to nerf it?? Jagex doesn't know how to do this well and their customers will flame and spam all over the forums. And jagex, being a company, wouldn't want people quitting because they can't bear to lose their overpowered weapon. an alternative is to boost all weapons power generally(except for some, i.e abyssal whip), and weaken some overpowered specials.
  13. who doesn't use mousekeys. You don't use your brain properly if you spam crap like this. You, do you have any idea of what you're talking about?!? Yews are horribly slow at 60, they're horribly slow at 70 and they only become somewhat decent after 80 woodcutting. You think you're ready to make cash fast and easy just because you have got 60 woodcutting? How shamefully naive you are. I'd suggest you make a thorought investigation on the matter, otherwise your arguments will not stand a chance. The "yews are good for money" phrase is wrong. The correct one would be "Yews aren't really an amazing money-making way, but if you are a F2P fail mercher/pker, they may worth your time." TO say wcing yews is slow at 80- lvl is the same as saying rune mining is slow at 99- levels. So what the hell is your point? What the hell are you talking about? Changing it to be balanced from the old one is like updating it, improving it so it would be equal to woodcutting. Or if you don't want mining to be easier, increase the difficulty of woodcutting and screw the even larger population of people without 99 woodcutting. Think about it. Jagex will always try to please the larger group of people and minimise the unhappiness of customers. So what if you screw people up? When the "cook x" option and pest control came out, everyone who got 99 cooking the old fashioned way/ high lvled combat felt cheated. Different people have different thinking. What you think as "respectable" another person might call it old fashioned and pointless. Cope with change-you cant stop it. If you cant, go play classic. If there's not change, runescape will become a boring old game with nothing ever updated. Face it. You don't like mining. You can't stand it because it's a "waste of time". Call it what you'd like to, but in the end it's only a veil. Who cares though? I can't stand fletching, woodcutting, or fishing. I think they're all wastes of times, it's fine to feel that way. Update = improvements -> change to easier -> rants To be honest, MANY more people profit from mining as it is than as it will be if you get your way. It's not broken, why would you want to fix it? You'd only make it worse. Yes, change means progress. But change can almost mean damage. People always think of new improvements as a way of enhancing life, but that's not always true. New improvements could very well make things much worse. Example? A few months ago Barbarian Fishing was the best way to train fishing. Insane xp and additional xp in 3 skills. But with cut-x for the fish, while it may now SEEM easier, it is in reality much MUCH slower. Jagex's "improvement" killed off one of the best ways to train fishing. I'm not arguing that doing it the old way is respectable. If that was my point, I'd be killing Giant Skeletons for xp, and not doing Slayer. I'm saying that Jagex has wasted other people's time. They want to KEEP customers correct? Not make loyal ones angry and leave. No half brained idiot is going to quit the game because they can't man up to one skill, so they'll stay. Once again, you are one of a very small minority who does not reap rewards out of mining. If you change it, you'll hurt the majority. You may not like Karl Marx very much, but he has some very true statements. Why should the government cater to the needs of the small upper class when it is hurting and ignoring the overwhelming majority that is the lower class? The same applies here. Why do you want to change something to hurt a lot of people while only benefitting a handful of people, such as yourself, who don't like it? I bet Jagex would much rather see a few of you go than a much population go. EDIT: If you're getting 10k per hour powermining iron something is wrong with you. After level 50 you almost always 1 hit iron, so the xp is flat from there on out. In f2p, the max xp would be 42k-ish xp, but that's nearly impossible. I found myself consistently in the mid-30k range. And trust me I wasn't trying very hard, so there must be something you are doing wrong. Sorry to sound so accusative, but that has to be the reason. There's no reason why you should only get 10k per hour at level 50. Always one-hit iron at lvl 50 mining? dream on. I can stand mining for goodness's sake. I can't do it everyday because i have to train other low leveled skills to balance them out. How many times do i have to say this... Face it. You can't bear to lose your overly fast way to earn money because you got to lvl 85+ mining in p2p and now try to make things difficult for other people who have not got it yet. Who cares if rune ore prices drop? If there was a new ore to mine at lvl 90 or something, rune ore prices will crash. Rune ore is only used for smithing training. Who trains all the way to lvl 85+ smithing just to get rune weapons? Even selling 2 rune ores for about 35k, they can earn enough to buy a rune scimitar that costs 20k(req 2 bars) and have 15k+ left over. And since when did i state that i dislike Karl Marx? Runescape's political system is far from communism. Jagex caters to the lower class people far more than the upper class even though the upper class worked far more than the lower class. And anyway, communism will never work out because if gp was distributed evenly, why should you work hard at all? (don't make me give you a lecture on politics)
  14. exactly. Either they make the system more worth it, or thrash the thing totally. I mean, most mage spells would be crushing if there were such things, apart from slayer dart which probably would be stabbing. For range, almost everything would be stabbing, except for throwing axes which would be slashing.
  15. in f2p. yews are good money. My friend(f2p) made a lot of money by wcing yews and many other people wc yews too. There are a lot of competition for yews so the money isnt that good but who said miners don't have competition??
  16. Those are only overpowered because of their specials for god's sake... How many times do i have to say this? Any good pker will prepare themselves against dbow/dclaws/ddp++/godsword/whatever specials well by bringing fast healing food and other stuff. When the main battle comes and spec bars are left empty, a dbower/dclawer/godsworder/whatever will be running for their lives from a whipper.
  17. Cost? 20+k lifetime investment vs 20k just for a few hundred runes that cant even last for a half an hour? And where did you get it that rune scim will hit less regularly than fire blast?? rune scimmy if faster, btw. Hint: damage per second
  18. You think you're so smart that you can insult people's intelligence? Firemaking is a processing skill and it is not on the same level as mining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now who's the stupid idiot? It is broken, by the way. Just because it's profitable doesn't mean its not broken. Wcing yews earn a lot of money for a skill that requires only 60 wc. Ok rune mining earns more but it needs 85 MINING for goodness's sake. At lvl 45 or something, training mining can only get you at MAX about 10k exp per hour powermining iron ore. Wcing, i got from level 44-48 in about 1 and a half hour.
  19. Drag dagger spec hits 2 times. D claws spec hits 3 times. Period. Back to topic, I know dragon dagger isnt the only weapon that can stab, but other stabbing weps are also as useless. I don't know about obby weapons but they seem to be quite weak based on their stats. BTW claws are slashing weapons... see my point?
  20. Then how do you want Jagex to approach it? Nerf the whip and watch the game feedback and recent updates forums in RSOF flood with threads like "wtf jagex you nerfed my fav wep!!!11" "curse you jagex for lowering the abyssal whip's power" "wtf whip lowered in power?" and other threads with titles like this? BTW, ddp++, dark bow and godswords are only feared for their specials. Godswords are weaker than the whip in damage per second. ancients cost way too much.
  21. Since when is balancing it out messing with other people?? And who says i cant stand mining? I just don't do it too much in my account because i have other things to cater to like training combat.
  22. Since when did i say whip+defender was not POWERFUL??? I never said a hint about this. And if you weren't blind, you would look at the title: "crushing and stabbing weps never used". And the whip is a slashing weapon for goodness's sake. Or am i mistaken, compfreak, are you supporting this thread? Ha Ha. All forms of combat and weaponry? like real. Have you EVER seen a mace being used in pvp? Or for that matter, any crushing weapon other than obby maul(which is only used by pures anyway) and granite maul(only used for specials)? Or have you seen anyone using "stab" attack style? No one uses chainbodies, so why should there even be a stab attack style?
  23. 1 more damage... you mean one more MAX damage. Melee hits constantly and quite high through dhide and even higher through mage armor. Mage fire blast wont hit constant 16s at 59 mage for goodness's sake. The spell will fail like hell because of your low mage. And it can also miss.
  24. lol never tried pking with range so i dont know, but melee (btw is melee not melle but that's not a big deal) is sure overpowered. In f2p practically everyone in pk worlds use melee unless they are pjers or just want to die. Mages get pjed easily, and because of their low armor, they die fast and lose a lot of EXPENSIVE runes that they cant keep. Range isn't effective in f2p pking except for bh unless they are tanks.
