your scenario wouldn't work. I think the curse and co. spells effects don't stack so condemn won't stack. Or maybe you can only do it twice on a player. Or maybe it has higher splash rate. Also, the person can just put on black dhide or get his ranged/mage stuff and bombard you back. Seriously, i don't know why so many people think bind is like stun/freeze.

-Dont talk crap before you find the facts, idiot. those facts were taken from the RS manual so you're the one making up facts. -I know weapons were supposed to be different, but they should reflect their power based on the cost/lvl to make. They dont, at the moment, as i showed above. You should also look up the dictionary on "fair" and "equal". -For your third point, dont give crap comments like that.if you want to post crap, go make your own dumb topic and let it get locked. P.S. refer to my second point.

Thats total bs. everyone will just walk around with mauls and maces. i agree that magic should not give magic defence though. ancient still costs like 100k+ for an hour of training/whatever, which is why no one uses it. it also can't stand up to the extremely commonly updated melee and the quite commonly updated ranged. mage hasn't gotten a decent update for about 2 years+. fog does not count as a mage update, the robes are too expensive and useless and melee was updated that time too, as if melee didnt have enough updates.

fourth spellbook?
your spellbook seems quite dumb, tbh. you didn't even state the xp gained, runes needed, what precisely do the spells do, what lvl is needed, can it be autocasted, f2p/p2p(i assume its p2p), etc. maybe you should look at my thread and improve it a bit. (not trying to boast about my thread or something, but IMO its better than yours by far).

thanks for the comments. and btw i didnt make ancient look worthless. ancient still has a longer freeze time, steal hp, lower accuracy and poisoning. p.s. melee can do all these too. ddp++, zamorak, saradomin, bandos gs. and binding for 25 sec isnt too much. while you're binded, you can still eat, pray, mage/range, change armor, attack people next to you, etc. ive edited the post already

vengeance is not a direct combat skill. and im talking about the normal spellbook. seriously, does anyone ever use the normal spellbook in members for combat aside from teleblocking?! i dont know cos im f2p. did you go to pk in f2p worlds before? or clan wars in f2p? if not, go try and witness it yourself.

the point is i like to use them, for some reason i dont really know, but then the weps are too weak to be used effectively. So im telling jagex to change them. get it? BTW the last time i checked, rune warhammer was 28k while the scim was 19k. battleaxe: - 2 + 48 + 43 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 - 1 + 0 + 64 + 0 warhammer: - 4 - 4 + 53 - 4 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 48 + 0 see the str bonus differences of 16? know the answer why now? or do i need to highlight it for you. seriously, why would a heavier weapon cause less damage than a probably slightly lighter one? if u know science well, a heavy wep might be slower but it has more momentum=more force of smashing. so i recommend that the stats be changed to: baxe:-2 +50 +45 +0 +0 +0 +0 +0 +0 -1 +0 +57 +0 warhammer:-4 -3 +47 -4 +0 +0 +0 +0 +0+0+0 +64 +0 in this case, the warhammer will get a large boost in str, but lowered accuracy and slash bonuses. the baxe will get increased accuracy but slightly lowered str. they would both still be used because their stats are somewhat equal. do the maths: baxe total stats addup=149 warhammer total stats addup=100 but because baxe has a weaker crush bonus, we'll remove that so it becomes: 104 that makes the weps quite fair as warhmmer is 1 smithing lvl lower than baxe so it should have slightly weaker bonuses. compared to earlier on: baxe=110 warhammer =89 and that is without the baxe's crush attack bonuses!! sorry, 8112204, i was damn angry with compfreak's crap just now so i lost my temper. your comments are actually quite reasonable. game proffy, as you can see from above, their stats are totally different and now it is more fair, but not equal. Equal means they are totally the same but fair means they are similar but still different according to costs/logic.

New high lvled powerful mage spellbook!
Im thinking about making a new high lvl mage spellbook that requires a master/grandmaster quest to get (but its all up to jagex and i dont really care). It is because the old ones are not good enough and melee and ranged have gotten tons of updates recently so i think mages deserve one. I hope there will be a new high lvl staff for mages, a reward from the quest, maybe lvl 75 magic requirement. possible names:Cosmic staff, arcanist's staff, sorcerer's staff, etc. This staff can autocast all these spells. This staff will be the first mage weapon that has a special attack. cost:75% spec bar The special hits 150% damage, but also adds a random special. NOTE: it can stack with other effects:stun for 5 sec, poison for 6, lowers the person's highest stat, either atk, str, def, range(if same than it is random), steals hp or hits 25% more. Together with this update, there should also be a new soul altar that is unlocked during the quest so as to control the prices of the soul runes. I just checked the ge. soul runes cost 358gp, astral costs 148, blood costs 275gp, death costs 270gp-5 gp less than blood!!!!!!!??!?!? These 4 are the main runes used in this spellbook. astral is used for mainly the attack spells, soul is used mainly for the lowering stat spells and the "doom" and "destiny bond" spells. blood is mainly used as a secondary requirement for the attack spells. death is used in prayer reduction spell, doom and destiny bond. Suggestions: Supreme alchemy lvl 74 new alchemy. ill let jagex choose the prices. 15x fire 3x nature Condemn lvl 77 Lowers enemy prayer by 25% of max 2x death 1x soul rune Piercing Presence lvl 80 Lowers enemy defence by 20% 1x blood 2x soul rune Curse of Fraility lvl 83 Lowers enemy str by 20% 1x blood 3x soul rune Cosmic Blast lvl 84 Stuns for 3 seconds. Max 28 4x astral 1x blood rune Disorientating Mist lvl 86 Lowers enemy attack by 20% 5x air 4x soul rune Entwine lvl 88 Binds enemy for 20 seconds 6 nature rune Lunar Blitz lvl 89 Freezes for 8 sec. as for the programmers of maces,warhammers, shortswords, longswords, etc i would like to...... him for the scimitars and whip programmers, nerf your stupid weps!!! since when was a heavy sword as fast as a light dagger... what the hell.... If jagex thinks they can make weps like claws useful just by making a dumb wep with a good spec, they're wrong. everyone will just walk around with claws, spec someone, get a scim and finish him off, before he has a chance to eat because of the incredibly fast speed of this two weps.

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this thread is about making the weps as fair as possible as in lower cost=weaker, higher cost=better,etc. but right now, a rune warhammer that costs 10k more than a scimitar is totally worthless. SO STOP TELLING ME NOT TO USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Avoiding the problem will not solve it. seriously, compfreak, what kind of crap is that?! fair means cheap is weaker and expensive is more powerful. you better get a dictionary of runescape or a brain transplant. if you dont want to give sensible comments/criticism, get the hell out.

Magic is not useful enough in combat, idiots. proof is how many people do you see in pvp worlds using mage? practically 0. it costs a lot, its hard to use, and easy to get pjed cos you have low def and other people can attack you while your opponent is frozen/whatever. and stop talking about mage in non combat situations as this is a thread about mage being underpowered in COMBAT. SO SHUT UP about alching, etc. P.S. the combat system needs a big update cos it is sht unfair right now. it only counts your "dominant" skill and it does not care about others, allowing people to hide a lot of power and get unfair advantages. P.S.S. Have you all ever went to f2p clan wars? tell me how many times you see a mage compared to a meleer or even a ranger. i bet the ratio will be like this 1mage:10+ rangers and 1 mage:50+ meleers.

too many weps in rs are underpowered. and btw, pureprayer, the mace sucks like sht too. it probably was so lousy that you forgot it. why doesnt jagex redo the combat system? its an epic fail right now, with too many weps overpowered and even more underpowered and obsolete. P.S. is it ok to "advertise" my thread here? its about unused rs weps and its called "crushing and stabbing weps never used".

Mage is overpowered?!!?!?!?! thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard. mage cant even get through plate armor properly in f2p clan wars. Just put on dhide and on protect from mage and mages cant do anything. and mages are slow like hell. Mage armor is weak against both melee and ranged. ranged armor is weak against melee but it is much better than mage in melee defence. melee armor is weak against mage but has damn high ranged and melee defence. see who is underpowered? Melee can wear range, mage armor without any penalties. obviously they can wear mage, but who ever does it? range can wear mage armor without penalties. this is not such a big problem since mage armor is like crap. mage cant wear range/melee armor without suffering severe penalties. unfair isnt it? and dont tell me it is logical that melee can wear other armor that is lighter and wont suffer any penalties. this is a GAME for goodness's sake. "mage can attack from range" so can range. "mage can farcast further than range" so? with run on you'll catch up in less than a second more. "mage can freeze, steal hp, blah blah blah" those are just annoying effects that wont give the mage a HUGE advantage. get protect from mage on and those effects seem like crap. And btw, there are weps called godswords and other weps that have about the same effects. zamorak gs can freeze. cheap copying from ice barrage/.... sara can heal. same as blood rush/blitz/barrage/burst. bandos lowers stats. cheap copying from curse/weaken/etc. bchest anchor, seercull, etc lowers stats. cheap copying once more. see what i mean? jagex is trying to make mage more obsolete with all these new melee weps that have same effects as mage.

Ew. Terrible regular weapon, special is horridly inaccurate and very rarely works. DD++ is years ahead of it, to say nothing of d claws. Exactly. many crushing weps are too slow and inaccurate. im not ranting about making crush/stab weps the best weps, im ranting about making them as fair as possible.

thats not flaming him. its just asking him to stop it. anyway, im a new forum member so i dont know the rules. but i have been playing runescape for like 3-4 years so dont call me a noob. P.S. its not totally up to jagex. if players dont support actively, jagex might not update something. also, they might not be aware of it and this is what threads are for. all threads are for the same reason, to make jagex aware of something the player doesnt like/wants changed. no matter how good your thread is, jagex is still the final controls and if they dont want it changed, too bad for you.

I am saying that magic is not meant to only support combat or do other stuff like teleporting. Im sorry i wasnt clear enough. Anyway, this thread is about how weak magic is in combat so will you all just shut up about teleing, alching, bones-to-peaches-ing and stuff. I know you all will say "alching is important for changing the drops you get in combat to coins, fool!" but that is NOT combat, it is a result of combat. "teleing is used to get to combat places and to escape, fool!" so? that is not combat. "bones-to-peaches is used to make food, fool!" so? foodmaking is not combat. if it was, in your logic, cooking should be a combat skill too. BTW. you can cast magic using a useless wep such as rubber chickens/pickaxe handles so what the hell is your point about melee using rubber chickens? the only "class" that i cant say anything about is range because they cant range with rubber chickens/pickaxe handles. P.S. I did not say anything about rubber chickens earlier, it was some other guy called JacTise69. P.S.S thanks for the support elusefelier. i thought it should be a grandmaster quest to prevent people like compfreak from saying it was overpowered, but it actually should be just up to jagex.

compfreak, you didnt even reply to me. and furthermore, magic is not i repeat, not a support skill used for teleporting, high alching, etc. anyway, high alching is >usually< only used to train mage, not as a practical use. Since magic is a part of the combat triangle, That means it is not meant to be a support skill which is what you are saying so this proves you wrong. Period.

then why dont you say that melee/ranged is not powerful when you dont use them correctly? i know why. They are extremely simple to use and everyone knows how to use them, whereas mage requires a lot of thinking, quick reflexes, good strategies, etc etc. I think the normal spellbook suggestion can work out, but i diasgree with the max of 36, but im ok with the 32 max. Maybe there should be new ancient spellbook spells, or maybe a whole new spellbook since ancient spellbook is quite full now. Or maybe an add-on to lunar spellbook with a few powerful spells? Maybe after a grandmaster quest, there would be a new spellbook only for very high lvl mages. P.S. what is the difference betwen freezing and stunning? Thats not the only problem with mining. Ores that are used to make armor take higher lvl to mine than their equilavent in woodcutting. for example: mithril 55 mining. willow 30 wc. both need lvl 20 in the respective skill to use and yet mithril takes 25 LEVELS MORE!!!!?????!!!! Adamant needs 70 mining and maple needs 45 wc?!!!?!?!??! also, wood only needs wood to fletch (im not a mem so i dont know much about fletching) while mining needs like 1 main ore +some coal!!?!?!?! WTF!! :o Mining is made even more unbalanced because you can never get more than one ore in a rock!! You can get like 20 logs from a tree and there are far more trees in rs than ores! (just try counting the normal trees in rs) nvm dont count the normal trees, just count the oak, or even willow. There is like about 15 willows in f2p and with no reqs whereas there is only about 8-9 mithril ore, with 6 of them needing at least 60 mining to get. See why mining is so useless and obsolete as a skill now?

Thanks for the support guys :thumbsup: I think i also read such an article, about something like a slashing wep is slower than a stabbing wep, though more powerful, when striking, it leaves your right (or left, depending on whether u are right or left handed) side undefended, allowing opponents with a faster stabbing weapon to get a free shot at you.
