RuneScape Information

  1. 1. Don't pay much attention to prices as I've never been tight with money both IRL and on RS. 2. Hmm, yes. You didn't have to think hard to spot that one which just goes to show how unbalanced it is; and has been for longer than I've been around. 3. Disagree here. Too much high level content for me (in combat). I'm level 113 with 1 summoning and have high levels in all combat stats. And I can honestly tell you I thought the game was 3 times more exciting when a whip was the weapon to beat all weapons and everybody wore barrows. As for skills, to me, Jagex do seem to update them as often as they should. I agree that for some skills, level 99 shouldn't just mean an achievement cape. But for the best part, most skills do seem to improve your ability as your level gets higher. Over the years Jagex has improved the high level content immensely so I personally can't find much to complain about. 4. I don't really think Jagex are too interested in F2P anyway. I think people who refuse to pay £3.50 for a game that's actually worth spending more than 5 minutes on are just plain tight with money (which the majority of F2Pers are). Some can't get memberships because they're not available in their area or their parents won't let them. So they're the unlucky ones. 5. I can't really comment here as the last time i was a quester was probably 2006.
  2. Just depends how long they've been playing I guess. I suppose it's acceptable to have a high levelled account if it's 5 years old. From personal experience I was far more nerdy at level 80 and 90 than I am now. Maybe that's maturity or maybe because the game was far more addictive at that stage. I could get home from school (this was about 2005/6) and play on RS for 5 hours easily. I feel awful if I spend more than 2 hours on it now. My point is a lot of level 80s are the biggest gimps on the game. A lot of people with an f2p combat over 110 struggle to play.
  3. £50 for a decent night out. Especially as I lost my fircape RS interests me even less.
  4. I recently did the same a few months ago. Bored, with nothing to do on week nights, so I got my membership back again. But in all honesty the game isn't half as good as it was. I personally blame real world traders forcing jagex to remove the wild thus making the game worse. Also I came back as a level 110. Level 110 when I quit was considered a decent level, especially having 92 hp meant that my account had been trained properly. Now I'm probably low level with the release of summoning (IDK what the hell it is or how to train it TBH) And i have no idea what any of the new equipment is/does and I have no intention of finding out. But I can still play, not half as obsessively as I used to, but I can still spend an hour or 2 a night on RS. I'd recommend that you carry on with your old account, I considered making a level 3 with a better name. But I decided what's the point? In 6 months time you'll probably regret starting from scratch and think "my account could be level 100" or whatever.
  5. Before skill capes were released I don't think I can ever recall many people buying masses of raws. In fact I think raws might have been cheaper in like 2005. Personally the only time I have trained cooking is when I had 65 cooking and needed 70 to do RFD. Ever since then I've never bought, or sold raws. I just cook whatever I fish and use it for training. Same with fletching really. Nobody could be bothered getting 99. People just fletched so they could high alch.
  6. Lol, good read. Makes a lot of sense too. But to be honest with you I don't really talk to anybody on Runescape. I quit near enough 2 years ago, and I got my membership back again a few months ago. So basically when I returned I found that I had no friends (on RS of course, I'm quite socially acceptable away from the computer!). I assume most of them have quit. But in all honesty I can not be bothered to talk to half of RS players. If they're sat at their computer for 6 hours a day how can they possibly have anything interesting to say? Some of the players you described as "1337", want a large friends list, in order to compensate for their rather small "friends list" in the outside world.
  7. I'm rather lucky to have an RSC account as I started RS in June 05. Some guy who I was friends with was on "classic 1" so I thought "what's that I wanna try". This was about September, I got stuck on tutorial island and never came back on for a yr and a half. That 5 mins of "what's this?" made me able to access RSC after they stopped allowing people onto it.
