RuneScape Information

  1. They wouldn't have offered a bonus xp weekend for winning because then it would have to be for free players too. And everyone knows you can't have bonus xp weekends for F2P.
  2. What a glorious day for the legitimate players. Here's to hoping the bots have been vanquished for good and slayer becomes a viable source of income again.
  3. I know it wasn't your intention, but the article really came off as sounding like a whiny f2p. Probably one of the daftest things I've ever read. I guess the likes of Tesco, Game etc. have it all completely wrong then. Nobody is forced to do anything. If players don't like it they don't pay. Simple. They don't make money the game doesn't survive. You don't care because you've stated you don't play. I think the general playing population does care that the company makes money. I've seen enough updates over the last year to disagree with your investment statements. The money has to come from somewhere. Actually there's many AFKers so technically some are already doing this. There are also the efficiency trolls pushing for 'xp while logged out'. . Never saw the point of it but hey [garden tool].............. All of my thoughts. ^
  4. I haven't taken advantage of it yet, but the world queue sounds amazing.
  5. FM was my first 99, got it as f2p. I'd put my tinderbox in the middle of my inv, so less movement for clicking (maybe). But yeah, the real secret of it and any skilling is to multitask and distract yourself with something else.
  6. General pking is probably less profitable than it was before, and a pvp bot is the one bot that will never be effective, because a human is always smarter and more powerful than a bot, so you can never write a script to be better at pking than an actual person. Aside from luring, pking didn't become more profitable, it just got more fun and isn't completely stupid like the old EP/DP system was. I said pvp because that includes staking, which a lot of people seem to say has helped them make lots of money. I never said a pvp bot was probable, my point was that if it ever does happen those who are happy with the current game will immediately call for changes because bots will then be ruining the game for them.
  7. Lvl 178 skeletons are the highest but those things are evil, even with primal weps, must be ridiculous on f2p  I'm not sure if they've changed it but weren't some f2p dg bosses able to get up to 500+ like geomancer and bal'lak?
  8. I voted no because - surprise surprise- I don't pk, stake or merchant. I play to skill and earn my experience and money legitimately. The majority of people who voted yes were being affected by the trade restrictions and limits of the wilderness/pvp environments while the skillers and other players like myself were not. My livelihood before free trade was slayer and now it's a joke. All other raw resources in the game are the same way. Now that free trade/old wilderness is back, the situation is the opposite, the pvpers are thriving and the skillers are suffering. I can guarantee, the minute someone is able to produce an efficient pvp bot everyone who is "happy with the current situation" will demand immediate changes.
  9. After having one new area with fairy ring codes leaked I highly doubt they'd do it with any more. At least in the same update...
  10. I never really thought about players who influenced me, but Axe Man Jack really did. Like Mummi said, his guide inspired me to work on slayer and eventually got me hooked and determined to get 99.
  11. The only thing that bugs me about this is that you only get the item if you specifically purchase membership by prepaid card from GameStop. Overall this is not really a big deal, but if they continue to promote events like this they might start down a slippery slope that could have a significant impact on the game.
  12. You have to find Skaldrun first, then items will appear. They don't show up as red dots on the minimap, but they're pretty obvious on the ground. Once you find them you'll have to talk to Skaldrun individually to unlock each saga. The dungeons can be c2 smalls and usually only take 1 or 2 floors to find.
  13. First one was cool to see the introduction of the signature heroes, but that was about it. Second one was really rather dark I thought, and now I feel kinda bad every time I kill a forgotten warrior. >_> Third one was probably my favorite piece of content in a long time, funniest and most entertaining quest ever. Overall, definitely not worth it at all for rewards alone, but on an entertainment/lore factor it's amazing.
  14. >>loyalty points based on time played >>suddenly thousands of bots bankstanding
