@lala ^wow, never thought of that, great idea and I cant think of a single task that goes by faster maging (unless you thinks sol was made just for slayer where the only mage-affected slayer monsters are Dagganoth Rex and ice Strykewyrms) It's main purpose would probably be to give mages an actual chance on people using melee in PvP, instead of being able to get 2-spec'd by a dds. How often do you see a mage fight someone someone using melee with nothing but a staff/wand, or even in melee distance? The amount of SOL's in rs are small atm (especially since they can only be killed on task), but soon you might just end up seeing mages in pvp fighting people with GS's in PvP in melee'able distance The special by K'ril rips through melee pray (and he does it quite often) for a max hit of 49, but only does it while praying against melee, not mage. Making mage attacks hit up to 30s (you should have around +150 mage def), A common spec hits up to 49s (on karils too so you'll take a lot of damage) and a loss in prayer, more ppots used, less food If you're praying mage and have high def (+350-390 melee def), and using SOL's special, where the max hit is a 23, and a mage attack that always hits 0 tbh the second option sounds better

You won't be switching 85 stab 75 str for zs 55 stab 72 str for the staff It's not that bad, especially if you swh, leave room (lowered def stays) spec recover to 100% where youll probably be hitting 90% of the time, even with an iron dagger You lose the special once you unequip the staff. So you have to have it equipped the whole 1 minute for the 50% protection. You won't be unequipping it o.O When corp's def is almost 0 from SWHing , the stab bonus from the staff ( which you will be using to fight, the whole time) won't matter since it doesn't influence how high you hit, and strength wise zs and the staff aren't too off at all It'll be SWH spec 3x, leaving the room, equipping staff, and using it the whole fight

Special attack gives 50% protection against melee attacks for one minute. A minute? Really? Isn't special restore 10% per 30 seconds? With special restore pot, another 25% per 30 seconds? You can regenerate a full special bar in 90 seconds if those numbers are accurate, so you can halve all melee damage 2/3 of the time. Against players, you can use this + Deflect Melee + Divine. AGS maxes under 20 after that, with special and full strength gear. XD Karil + staff + divine + mage pray (40+30= 70% protection) + its spec (50% melee protection) = 19 max hit from mage (karils so will splash a lot) and 26 max hit from melee on solo corp..................

how much spec does it use, anyone know?

Am I missing something or does the staff really give 50% protection for everything? including corp etc or just slayer monsters? Seems too good to be true so idk if I read it right :s

what attack style did you use with zs? Stab, duh :-P odd, last time I used zs on irons I rarely hit under a 35, while spamming 0s with whip

I would have done that.. onyx is 100m street >.< been trying to get one ever since I got 300 ranks 2 months ago protip: dragonstone(i) is massively cheaper, doesn't protect over bandos, and is only 1 less in all stats you dunno how many kills I missed by less than 20 xp in ffa :(

The in other news on the main news made my day Fighter hats with the same stats back without the disappearing on death, and the lowering on mint cake craze edit: didn't see the POH and familiar update, that blowsss, prayers gonna suck to train from 95-99 :(
