  1. Sorry for double post, but do you mind me asking what your money making method is? Also, my advice would be to stick it all in pray, use the WGS reward to get it above 75, then use the BRD reward to get it to 78 (then the nomad reward to get it to 79!) Mage - range killing of prime and rex. And barrows (which is about 1m / h, dag kings a bit more I think.) Occasional armadyl teams on rsof (which I heard someone say was 2m an hour, but it's kinda random...) I make unf pots occasionally, but I often have to sit on them for a few days to actually have profited 1m+ / h.. and can usually only do for an hour as I generally spend my cash too fast. And farming herbs (no mtk because I haven't done the quests.. which I should really get around to :(... On a side note, I gotta pay 1k every time I go to dag kings...) Thanks everyone on responses. I guess I'll stop thinking which is best and start thinking which I hate most :D If I can't decide I'll just roll a die.
  2. What is best to use them on? I generally use on prayer or herblore, but was thinking maybe the time saved on some of the slower skills makes it more worth it.. I mainly do slayer and boss hunting, but I do want a decent overall level for quests and such. If it helps, I make atleast 1m/h when raising money. Also, once I get wgs done, I'll be using the lamps on whatever I use random event lamps on. (Unless I can't, due to <65.)
  3. Last I checked, which was a few days ago, it worked fine. I wrote a little guide including these, which is here: http://forum.tip.it/topic/259460-safespotting-longrange-monsters/ Hope it helps. Edit: Looking at a note in my guide - remember to step back 1 square after attacking, as when you attack you usually run to 1 square under your max attack range, which if using rune c'bow, is the same attack range as wyverns.
  4. Half of the damage xp goes to defense, half to mage. You still get the base xp for the spell all to magic.
  5. What are the best methods? Most recently was doing swamp lizards. Not looking to make any money, just want reqs for wgs.
  6. Yeah, I solo'd it with 77 range 70 def, 50 pray, 52 summoning.. only got 1 kill, but you know. It was just to try it out. And only barely killed it too. I highly suggest playing not on fixed rs screen, as it's very hard to click attack kree'arra on fixed screen.
  7. Not that great farming xp, but it's nice profit. I do my herb runs every 2 hours (takes 75 mins to grow approx.) and most survive. Just use supercompost. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Farming_herbs Use that to choose what herb to do. Make sure you're using magic secateurs, fally shield, etc. The best farming xp is from trees, if you want to level fast. (But it wastes money.) Edit: Note, wergalis seeds are almost impossible to get. Ignore them.
  8. If I am paying a gardener to protect my trees, should I use super compost? Does it guarantee my tree will survive without super compost?
  9. Go to world 31 the house party world. Often by the house portal people are spamming a house with one. If no one is, ask every few seconds and someone will tell you soon.
  10. The spectre was reaaaally easy! But atleast I got 6k slayer xp :) And an awesome imp that follows me around. I doubt I can have a summoned creature at the same time, though. Edit: Can't close my own topics.. so unless anyone really wants to say congrats or anything, it's done!
  11. Was doing my slayer task and got the scroll.. and a couple kills later I got another one! Is this a glitch? Can I fight the champion multiple times? Or is it useless to have 2 and was just really lucky?
  12. Got it second try, and every time after that. Didn't know healers were going to appear my first time (though I'd heard jad heals)... after that I read a guide and it was all better. Also, you can try that defend token gaining thing at warriors guild, it's similar. And be sure to be relaxed against Jad. Take a nice warm bath first :)
  13. You could try using telegrab to get the loot from Prime. And then I doubt supreme would ever attack you (though you'd have to kill 1st one when you enter). That way you could stick to prime and rex. Edit: Didn't read all the posts :P Oh well.. Nevermind then.
  14. Actually not a bad idea. For the first few quests, then it's overpowered...
  15. That's cool. How can I make it appear in a certain spot on my screen? Atm it goes right in front of rs. I just put it in notepad and saved it as a .bat btw. (I don't know how to script..) I copied it to my taskbar shortcuts things! So I can click it while playing. It'd be nice to have it on firefox somewhere right beside the rs.. but this sorta works. Also, can I choose how often I ping them? I don't want to anger jagex, and 4 times seems a bit much. Finally, it closes after 4, so I can't even see the last one. How do I make it not close? I guess this would sorta work. I also sometimes flash a pray to see how long delay is.
  16. But whenever I used to go to dks, 1 person would have prime on them and pray mage, and we didn't have to. Does prime only use a multi attack when people are running around or something? I know prime switches when we move too much.
  17. Is there a good way to check runescape's response time while playing? I often click walk here then attack while fighting bosses, to get a feel for delay if I'm lagging. I understand that when selecting a world it tells you a ping time, but that doesn't give me a feel for it, and I don't know how consistant it stays. So what I'm looking for is a way to check if runescape is responding without any actions taking place that affects combat.
  18. Is there a way to change my potions from (4) to (3)? I'd prefer not to drink 1 dose of every potion as that is a waste.. if there's a better way I'd love to know. I bought 100 super energy potions (4) during the summer when they were around 500gp each, and now they are 7k each, but no one buys (4)s as (3)s are used in special attack energy restore potions. I usually use energy potions during quests but super energies definitely cost too much now, so I'll stick to normal ones :P
  19. This guide is on safespotting monsters that attack with using long range, i.e. magic / ranged. Also, not all monsters work, only those with a relatively small range. So no, you cannot safespot Jad. It states rapid / accurate, then longranged. Note: These are amount of squares including you and the opponent. (The closest part of the opponent if bigger than 1 square.) Magic shortbow: 8, 10 Darts: 4,6 Knives: 5,7 Javelins: 5,8 Thrownaxes: 5,7 Magic longbow, 11, 11 Rune Crossbow: 8,10 Karils Xbow: 9,11 Chinchompas: 10,11 (11 is longfuse, short and med are both 10) Dark bow: 12,12 Crystal bow: 11,11? Magic: 11 (Pretty sure all spells are the same - I checked wind strike and wind surge.) If someone could check crystal bow it'd be nice, as I don't have one. A good place to test is against cockroach workers. Notes: If you click 'attack' you will run to a range of Your Range - 1, and you can step 1 back to get back into place. I highly recommend turning off ground blending in your runescape graphics so you can see the tiles. It makes it easier to safespot. [spoiler=Waterfiends]Range: 5 (Range is how far they can hit.) Max hit: 11 Defense: High Notes: For the first 5 minutes during aggresive period, I highly recommend bringing food and a prayer potion. Pray range until they aren't aggresive, otherwise you'll get beaten up a lot. They use both ranged and magic, so you will still take damage with ranged pray. After the aggresive period runs out, you don't need food. If you suck at luring them to the safespots, then you might need a bit, but they occasionally drop cooked sharks. Weapon recommended: Magic shortbow (With mithril arrows, is a common drop) or Rune c'bow with broad-tipped. Range potions are a must. [spoiler=Abberant Spectres]Range: 7 Max hit: 11 Defense: Low These are the main safespots I like. I do not recommend others, but feel free to try if you want. If they don't get caught on the wall and approach you, either go up the stairs and wait for it to wander for a few seconds, or if they are no longer aggresive, lure another one to safespot 1. You can also lure the same one to here if you prefer: When luring, after attacking make sure you run along the safespot wall, and avoid attacking ones south of the wall. This makes it easier so they don't get you. This safespot is also a nice spot for getting the one directly north of the stairs. I only use it if it's crowded. You can also use the safespot along the north wall by the stairs, it's essentially the same as the first one. Weapon recommended: Rune crossbow with any bolts (low defense - but I use broad anyways). Magic shortbow can only be used on long range if safespotting. Crystal bow is more expensive and doesn't work as well as a Rune c'bow imo, but it's an option. [spoiler=Skeletal Wyverns]Range: 7 (Range is how far they can hit.) Max hit: 150, according to rs wiki. Defense: High For aggresive period, it takes 12 minutes to wear off approx. (My world had about 1k population - I am not sure if this is related.) You can stand / sit just outside the door for that time, if you wish, or bring a lot of food and perhaps prayer potions - these things hit a lot. Any others I do not recommend, as you might reaggresive them. I now have them blocked as a task, but they are doable. Weapon recommended: Rune c'bow with broad bolts. Once you get used to it, you can take unholy book for once they're in the safespot, but be careful :P This guide is a work in process. I will be adding each monster as I find them. If you guys have any suggestions for a monster, post here and I'll see what I can do :) Please note the following monsters are impossible (tested using rune c'bow on long range): Kalphite Queen, Cockroach Soldier. Aquanites have an attack range of 11, but there is no place I found where you could trap them reliable for more than 11 squares (for use of dark bow, which wouldn't be worth it imo). If you were determined to safespot them, you could use dark bow and have someone else attack one to block the one you are attacking and be 12 squares away. I use kuradel anyways.. so it's all good. Pretty sure stuff like Tztok-jad, aviansies, karil & ahrim, etc. are impossible. But I haven't tested them. (Anyone want to test jad? :P) Thanks for reading my guide. Good luck and suggest monsters to test! Or if anyone wants to test themselves, I'd be happy to add it to my guide.
  20. When I went yesterday I could only safespot him much nearer prime (north east instead of south east).
  21. I assume so - it's mainly giants half stuck on things that are affected I think. But I haven't been there for a couple days, sorry. So probably, but not for sure.
  22. You need some food and a prayer potion for the aggresive period. Once it wears off, trap them across the rock. Their range is only 4 so anything with a higher range will do. (Magic shortbow, Rune C'bow, etc.) Definitely bring range potions, as they have pretty high defense. Am writing a guide including these for my clan anyways ^.^
  23. Ranging waterfiends is viable. There are a few safespots. They have a fair defense, but with 85 range I seem to do fine. Waterfiends have 128 hp Black demons have 157 Black demons have lower defense, however waterfiends drop charms a bit more often (I went to black demons in chaos tunnels, and waterfiends in ancient cavern.) Waterfiends, although they use ranged and magic, only have a range of 4 squares. As long as you have a longer range, you can trap them on something and range from 5+ squares away. (Rapid on a rune crossbow works.) Now, this is great, but they're aggresive. So you have to bring some food and a prayer potion to last the aggresive period (as it's impossible to safespot while they're aggresive.) I only provided one picture but there are a few. Hopefully this helps your guide with an alternative for rangers.
  24. It's an okay guide, but try bones to peaches, they don't heal much but allows you to stay longer at the cost of 1 inv space, and I get a few kc each run anyways. And if you are side stepping anyways it doesn't matter. Also, I'd replace the sharks with saradomin brews, since you have super restores in the picture anyways. You have too much equipment in inventory, hard to bring enough for lots of runs, go with black salamander and spear in inventory. Needs no shield and the salamander is good against all except karil. You could mage karil, or guthan spear him (restores some health), but if you really hate the idea you could bring whip and defender, but I don't recommend it. You need a bit higher mage bonus when using a spell, I like to stay in the positives if possible, an arcane spirit shield would help a lot. God cape or fire cape is better than obsidan. Apparently black salamander isn't affected as much by mage bonus, but I don't really know (barrowed a lot way back before hunter and stuff.) I prefer seers ring, as I've never died at barrows (though one time with veracs in tunnel gobbling down peaches it was pretty close! - I got a second spawn when I went through door to heal!) Bring a house teletab and bones to peaches teletabs instead of runes if you opt for black salamander. Anyways! Good luck camping at barrows, it's lots of fun when you don't forget where your ladder is. Edit: There are better ways to sidestep, if you remember which corners block. You can also sidestep karil and ahrim across the tombs (but not on corners).
