Kemios: Two men come up. One of them takes your weapon, and another one knocks you out. They then drag you into the pub. You wake up in the pub, next to what seems to be their trader. Karl: The scavenger shoots at you, but misses horribly. You take a shot with your 9mm handgun, and hit him in the leg, causing the scavenger to fall over, squirming on the ground. +0.1 handgun prof.

Kemios: You begin walking inland. As you leave the area, a UN troop transport unloads some footmen, who quickly seize the yacht. You continue walking until you come up to a large pub. Outside, you see several soldiers, equiped with kevlar vests with a digital cammo scheme, all wearing military gas masks. They seemed to be armed with M16s. A scout on the roof spots you, and everyone looks over at you.

Karl: The artifact just looks like a tear-shaped crystal. You finish taking the readings, and then proceed back to the bunker. On the way, you spot a scavenger, stumbling around, muttering statements that make absolutely no sense. He looks a little bloodied.

Karl: Strangely enough, the detector leads you to a perfectly safe patch of land. The white light stops flashing, and stays constant. Out of nowhere, a tear-shaped artifact forms from some of the blue flames. You pick it up. (rolled a 20...) +0.5 fire anomaly expertise

Karl: You figure you shouldn't waste ammo on the anomaly, so you throw a rock instead. As soon as the rock hits the anomoly, several large, blue jets of fire shoot out of the cracks, charring the rock. You collect the data on the anomoly, but a white light keeps beeping on the detector. When you move, it seems to flash faster or slower, depending on the direction.

Karl: As you walk to the position, you see multiple large cracks in the ground. There are several heat distortions in the air around it, and you figure you might want to try throwing something towards it to see the reaction. The detector starts beeping.

"Ah, yes. I need you to take some readings on a nearby anomoly. You are going to need a detector first, so here is a basic one. This will help you find any artifacts, along with being able to take the various readings key to our research." The ecologist quickly instructs you on how to use the detector, and then lends you the SP99 ECO suit (+3 fire and chemical protection, good radiation protection, closed cycle breathing system). He marks the location of the anomoly for you.

Karl: (The mp5 was picked up on the way) The ecologist says, "Sure, we have had decent relations with Freedom. Come in, I have something I need help with." As you enter the bunker, the door behind you seals shut with a hiss. You look around, and see several ecologist members. In a large case you see some sort of advanced environmental armor, with a closed-cycle breathing system, and a full-faced helmet. It reminds you of the lunar landing gear, although much more advanced and far less bulk.

Karl: On the way to the ecologist bunker, you spot an mp5 (average quality, moderate condition) just sitting on the ground! Unfortunately, it has no ammo. As you apporach the bunker, you see several men on the roof, armed with sniper rifles. You can't make out what kind, though. The men are wearing kevlar bullet-proof vests, along with a digital cammo scheme. All of their faces are concealed by military gas masks. They certainly don't look like ecologists. Suddenly, a voice is broadcasted by a intercom, saying, "And who might you be?" The snipers are all aiming towards you.

Karl: Matthew says, "I have no clue. They are so dangerous that many people just flee at the sound of one." The trader says that 100c is only enough to buy some ammo, and that most weapons start from 500c up. Armor goes from 800c up. One of the local guardsmen tells you that a nearby mobile ecologist bunker might have some missions. He marks the location for you on the PDA, which Matthew let you keep.

Karl: The captain tells you, "Nobody has officially named it yet, but most people simply call it a bloodsucker. Basically, it is a 7' tall humanoid, slightly hunched over, with a bunch of half-foot tentacles for a mouth. They also have strong claws, and can tear you to shreds if you aren't careful. The most dangerous part about them is their ability to cloak themselves, often when they sneak up on their prey. If you fall victim to one of these, it will wrap its tentacles around your neck, and well then...you get the picture." The captain thinks for a second. He then says, "I forgot to introduce myself. I am Matthew, a general of Freedom. Our main hq is located a bit deeper in the zone itself." Matthew then hands you 10 9mm rounds and 100c for your help.

Karl: As the creature approaches, the leader shouts, "Fire at will!" You, along with the whole rest of the camp, fire a barrage of bullets at the creature, shredding it to pieces. One man throws a grenade as well, completely blowing it up into to a fine mist of blood. +0.3 handgun prof. -5 9mm rounds Stephen: As you approach the coordinates, you see several people, wearing some sort of military armor, standing around some metallic object. They are all chanting some strange prayer.

Karl: You figure now isn't the best time to ask questions. Before you can, one of the men in the towers yells, "I'm picking up something on the thermal binoculars. It's only 200 ft. away, and moving in fast!" Everyone around you readies their weapon at the location the scout points out. Stephen: The trader hands you a generic double barrel shotgun (poor quality, moderate condition), and 10 buckshot. The brand name has faded away. He takes your PDA, and marks the location where the last transmission was recieved from.

Karl: You arrive back at the camp with the rest of the group. The leader shouts to one of the guardsmen, and a siren goes off. The whole camp is now on alert, and several men are posted on towers with light mg's. Kimako: You are interrupted by a siren, and the guard runs off. Stephen: You speak to the boss. He says, "We renegades are just here to make some pocket change, y'know? People call us bandits, thieves, murderers, cutthroats, and the list could go on. Point is, we might not have a great reputation, but our goal isn't so different from the rest of the factions here. You said you wanted work, now? I have the perfect job for you. Several of our men went missing yesterday, looking for an artifact. Find the group, along with the artifact and then return to me. I will make it worth your while."

Kimako: As soon as the word "government" comes out from your lips, the guard yells, "This is anarchist territory!" Stephen: The trader says, "You need better equipment than that to survive here! I have everything the black market has to offer! If you need work, see the boss." Karl: You hear some heavy breathing coming from the brush. Suddenly, one of the men is grabbed by some invisible creature, which jumps a large distance back into the woods. You hear the muffled screams abruptly stop. The leader says, "Keep moving, go go go!"

Karl: As soon as you tell the leader about the wounds, he curses, and then says, "Everybody move out, now! Scavenger, if you want to survive, you better follow us to our forest outpost!" Suddenly, you hear a roar echo through the woods, although it doesn't sound like any animal. Kimako: There is nobody in the area. You continue on, and come across an outpost, with a large anarchy symbol on the wall. There are several guards patrolling the area. One of them spots you, and says, "State your business here!" Stephen: You walk around the camp, although most people seem more interested in your supplies then making friends. You come across a trader. He asks, "What ya need?"

Kimako: You count 49 rounds. You are surrounded by forest, and hear some shouting nearby. Stephen: The renegades look you over, and smile. The leader hollers on the megaphone, "We will let you stay here, for now." Karl: The leader glances at you and mutters, "He's no renegade..." He then asks, "Why do you have our scout's PDA? Where is he?" ANNOUNCEMENT: Two factions have been discovered! Renegades, Zombified (discovered by Stephen) (More in-depth info will be given on the factions later. For now, you can see what % of the zone they make up on the front page)

Karl: As you inch away, you step on a squirrel, which lets out a loud squeal, running away. Suddenly, 4 headlamps are pointing at your direction, and the leader of the forces shouts, "Come out slowly with your hands in the air!" Kimako: Suddenly, a dog runs out of the forest. It seems slightly mutated, with skin covering where its eyes should be. You are well prepared, and a single shot to the head takes it down. -1 9mm round +0.2 handgun prof. Stephen: One of the men comes out and searches you for explosives. He looks at your PDA, and then finishes searching. The apparent leader yells on the megaphone, "What is your business in renegade territory?!"

Karl: The patrol seems to be outfitted well, with bulletproof vests and a woodland cammo scheme. They all carry AK-47's. However, they do not have the standard outfit of the UN security forces in the area. You check the contacts list on the PDA, and see a list of names of people you don't know. It says that some of the contacts are nearby, and pinpoints several of the patrol men on your GPS. Stephen: You walk towards the factory. A person in an upper floor spots you, and then a megaphone blares, "Put your weapon down now!". Several men with black trench coats and ski-masks walk on the roof, aiming their weapons towards you.

Stephen: The scavenger shoots at you, but the bullet completely misses. You fire another shot and hit the scavenger in the chest, killing him. You search the bodies, and find another 37 9mm rounds and a PDA. You figure that something must have been very wrong with the two men, and their faces seem covered with medium-sized welts. You look at the pit, which is a simple fire pit. After doing so, you check you geiger counter, but there is very little radiation detected. You spot an abandoned factory nearby. +0.1 handgun prof. +0.5 salvage Karl: The PDA has a GPS, a contacts list, log, and various other apps. The partrol walks by, and the leader shouts, "Has anyone found him yet?"

Stephen: As you begin walking towards them, you break a branch, and gain their attention. They turn around, and begin yelling more incoherent sayings. Both of them begin taking shots at you with their 9mm hanguns, although they seem brain-dead. You shoot at the first one, and miss. However, you take a shot at the second one, and hit him directly in the heart, killing him instantly. The other misses. (+.3 handgun proficiency) (-2 9mm rounds) Karl: You search the body, and notice that there are several mid-sized holes in the neck. However, they don't look like bullet holes. The wounds have clotted, and no blood is seen. You find a multi-purpose PDA on the body. (+0.1 salvage)

Stephen: (generally not, a better way would be to say, "Stephen looks for any structures or bases nearby". Then I roll or use a predetermined area. It's fine this time, though.) You spot a campfire near a small shed. There are two rookie scavengers, much like yourself. They are standing near the fire, with one hand outstretched towards the smoldering pit. They seem to be muttering incoherent sayings, and look a little roughed up. Karl: You realize that you don't have a gas mask. You walk deeper into the forest, till you find a freshly killed body of a scavenger.

Karl: The driver laughs and lets you off the hook. However, he tells you that you won't get far without credits, the established currency. You begin walking towards a forest. Stephen: You figure that you are better off looking for an already established camp, since most of the materials are irradiated.
