I wish you luck and if you ever need any cultural advice just ask, I hope that one day we might form a cross-Atlantic alliance. Unfortunately if you were to ever contact them, the majority of your people would die of small pox and if you were unlucky, the bubonic plague. Unless measures were taken in order to increase health. Yah and I think those never came to Norway, closest thing we have are the rare chicken pox. Uh, no. Not at all. Washing your hands won't do too much against small pox. And small pox was eradicated in like the 70's, so of course you don't have it in Norway now. I have at least never heard of anything like small pox being here ever, but anyways washing your hands won't help, but the mayan cultures are sitting on a motherload of medical ingredients. Only way to prevent smallpox is a vaccine, which the Mayans can't obtain, and vaccines weren't invented until long after the Mayans got (mostly) wiped out or absorbed into other cultures.

Are we still using a real map? I remember hearing something about a fictional map.

Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
Meh, I still think we should start at either around 1,000 B.C.-ish or around 700 A.D. It gives a better selection of different nations. Otherwise we have to split up several lager empires, and then it just gets confusing. Also, I don't think we should have magic, just my opinion. It doesn't work well with a real world map. If it was some fantasy world, then I wouldn't mind as much. It just seems bizzare thinking, "The German magician casts a lightning bolt on your armies!!!" or "My Egyptan priest summons a scarab plague on Rome!". If we do stick with the 450 A.D. date, Ill be located in the Syria area. Either that or the Gupta empire (northren India).

I think 450 A.D. is a bad time to start. Basically most of Europe is taken by the East and West Roman empires, and then the Sassanids have most of the middle east, along with the Hun threat.

I think that's a little too late on in history, but that is just me.

I think time period needs to be clear soon, as it will cause confusion on who is what nation, since allot happened to the various empires over the course of history. Hex, we should use old names to avoid confusion such as this. As the time progresses, you can change it accordingly. Also, perhaps earlier on we can have a day = several years, but later on slow it down to a year (after hitting some date). Ill just stick with Phonecia, btw.

A fleet of colony ships containing 100,000 colonists has been sent to Capiah II. Production has significantly dropped for new military armor and orbital station, and is delayed by a year. Another battlecruiser has been completed. [hide=population] Earth: 10 million Opez: 15 million Afkia: 11 million Zufan: half a million Uxiu I: 6,000 Nost Hu: 110,000 New Sophia: 55,000 [/hide]

The war mechanic is based around a random number generator. It was introduced a month or two ago by Ross_the_Knight, but it still has kinks that need to be worked out. Yes, Hex will still lose, but it will at least show the casualties. However, I'm afraid that only Ross truly knows how it works, so we'll have to wait for him to do it for us, I guess. There'd be moer infrastructure damage than casualties, I would think. Plus, how do you calculate the odds to put into the RandInt function to even go through the formula? I can attempt to figure it out, but there's no way to predict every last dollar of damage caused. And I really doubt nothing would happen. The way I see it, is that Hex controls 1/50th of his population. hIs popluation was a few 100mil I believe. Lets assume that 75mil are slaves so that there are 1.5mil guards. This leaves pop room for the elderly and the children. Of those 75mil slabes, roughly 40mil were equipped with a high grade weapon (assualt rifles and the like). The rest were just hardcore protesters. Some protesters may have had access to pipe bombs, and homemade TNT. Even with the 20+mil unarmed slaves, and the slaves that wouldn't rebel...that's still a near 1 v. 25 fight in a balanced warzone. By my calculations, Hex loses control of all but his elderly, a few children, some guards, and maybe a few million slaves. Damage to infrastructure and lost research from lab bombings is completely unable to be calculated though. First off, how does Hex have a hundred million people? I only have 30mil-ish, but I've been around for a while. Also, wouldn't his gaurds notice weapons being smuggled into the cities?

More boring updates 4/8 for unnamed AI program. 4/5 for new military armor. 6/7 for Gas giant orbital station. 3/9 for capital ship research. A transmission has been recieved from the harvester ship sent to Galero. Various gasses have been found, and samples from an asteriod belt have shown various metals. 2 dyson shards and a battlecruiser have been completed. Another 70,000 colonists have arrived at Nost Hu, and 5,000 have been sent to Uxiu I to begin major mining operations. A scouting party has touched down on Uxiu II to begin gathering data for a colonisation effort. [hide=population] Earth: 9 million Opez: 14 million Afkia: 10 million Zufan: half a million Uxiu I: 6,000 Nost Hu: 100,000 New Sophia: 50,000 [/hide] Penguin send doom a pm or she might not notice the changes.

More tax dollars? More people=Less money per person. More babies=less extra money for you, due to incentives. Hmm, good point. Still, what is a realistic percent increase for pop each year?

Progress: 3/8 for unnamed AI program. 3/5 for new military armor. 5/7 for Gas giant orbital station. 2/9 for capital ship research. The multi-part mobile base has been completed. It will be used for mining operations on Uxiu I, and is in the process of being shipped there. Another battlecruiser has been completed, along with 20 fighters. Another 10,000 colonists have arrived at Nost Hu, and will be making several shipments each year. A harvester ship has been sent to Galero to conduct a scouting mission for resources. Also, I keep forgetting to put up a list of my pop, so now would be a good time. [hide=population] Earth: 9 million Opez: 14 million Afkia: 10 million Zufan: half a million Uxiu I: 1,000 Nost Hu: 30,000 New Sophia: 50,000 [/hide] With child incentives and other positive factors for population growth, what is a reasonable percent increase?

Combine news: 3/5 for multi-part mobile base. (for mining operations on Uxiu I) 1/8 for unnamed AI program. 1/5 for new military armor. 3/7 for Gas giant station 1 Battlecruizer complete 10 Fighters complete 1 Moblie base complete (being sent to Uxiu I for mining use) Miners have set up (small) operations on Uxiu I, but will not commence major operations until the major mobile base is complete. For the time being they will scout and look for minerals and metals, to plot out key mining locations. They are also setting up a base there. 300 Ion cannons have been installed on Opez, providing sufficient defense for the major cities. Also, colonists have reached Nost Hu in the Recea Decimus system and have begun setting up a colony there. Please update the first planet list Doom! thanks

I'm fairly certain that his ion cannons used a beam of atoms, which would certainly prove effective.

wow due to the fact that my cannons are at least 10x as powerful as yours then mine will be rather cheap... How are yours "10x" more powerfull than his?

Here is some info on my colony military [hide=military] First off is the urban militia. These are voluntary forces for strictly urban operations. They are generally used in more rebellious sections of the cities, and are also deployed in a state of emergency (ie. invasion, major riot). This section of the military is mostly comprised of civilians that join becuase of the benefits that are offered, but will undergo strict training, and harsh punishment for incompitence. Their primary weapon is a mp7a1, and also carry a 9mm glock. Standard forces have similar armor to urban militia, but has improved defensive abilities. Their firearm is an improved AK47 model. Special forces are using nanosuits along with an OICW. [hide=OICW][/hide] [hide=Mp7a1][/hide] [/hide] Just bought 300 Ion cannons for several areas on Opez (from Napta). This will provide heavy defense for the planet. Research has also begun on a new armor for standard forces, along with a special AI system that will be implemented to standard and special forces. ETA 8 years.
